West of Scotland call centre selling boiler services and ignoring TPS

This number called at 11.30 when I answered no one spoke most annoying.

Just received a call from this number - Male; West of Scotland Accent, asked for me by name. Started spinning the same old guff about a 'Government Boiler Replacement Initiative' before I interrupted to ask  why his company were ignoring TPS registrations - (over 10 years, in my case) - and were clearly using data harvested unlawfully by overseas call-centres to circumvent that.  Claimed his company only used Data from another company that were supposed to filter-out TPS subscribers - to which I replied that was self-evidently not the case, before I hung up on him.  TPS/Scottish Information Commissioner should be going after these cowboys - without them buying the data, the Indian Chicken-Shack places couldn't operate.

Thanks for the info about this number - they phoned today and rang off after
hearing the answerphone message.

Another component in what goes on is that the dodgy firms buy outgoing phone numbers
from telecoms suppliers so that it appears that the caller is phoning from nearby when
they may be in reality somewhere much further away.

Edinburgh number- Caller had East Coast accent- as you would expect-  Said they were called Gas Boiler UK-  when asked.  Sounds fake-  so wont get address or be able to report to TPS.     Scrappage scheme they say.

West coast male called 14.40 and addressed me by name. When I told him (deliberately very polite ) that this was approx 10th time I had had this call he simply hung up so was unable to quote TPS

Called this number back 29/5/15 and recorded message invited me to press 1 to remove my number from all their marketing lists. We'll see.

Scottish Information Commissioner's office has no power to act on anything other than Public Authorities.   It is tricky to see how anybody could have created a system even less useful than TPS or the Information Commissioner himself.

TPS won't investigate your complaint if the companies if the name they give you is fake/incorrect (even if the telephone number is correct). If you don't believe me try to report this or other companies.

There is no longer a limited company listing on the companies register for Anthony (Tony) Lindie of Paisley but he is still calling under numerous rotating 0191, 0131, 01698 as well as 0141 numbers provided, like this one, by aql telecom.
Gas boiler(s) UK is one of the answers him and wife give when asked. Never their own company name.

Just received a call from this number. He asked for us by name, said his name was Patrick and then the call disconnected before we could say anything

But his name is not Patrick,it is Anthony or Tony. Energygrantsolutions has been liquidated but the website is still there.
Some more deliberate misinformation from him to say it is an Edinburgh company is on 28 April from https://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/01315106401
And this is another 0141 280 number he's been using for the past couple of months since abandoning 07885911334 - 07885911343 is https://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/01412806689 . Plenty of reports of nuisance calls on other reverse directories for 01412806689.
