- Minnie Mouse replies to XeroHi i went for an interview at G10 Global. I wasnt sure of the company as all the information was very vague and the actually wasnt much information on the internet about the company. I went for my fir preliminary interview and he was asking me stuff like 7x7 and asking me what verbs n adjectives were. There was no talk about pay of much about the job description and the interview must have lasted no more than 5 minutes. Everyone tries to look the part with their suits on but underneth i felt their was something not right.
I then was called about 4 hours after my interview and was congradulated on getting through too my second interview, i then checked up on the company and done more research. I found a thread on google and people had been through the exact same process as me with different comany names eg in England Bour bor Creation etc and they were all saying its a scam, im so glad i seen this im not going too any interviews and that they were lucky they wasted some time and money and imagine they left their job too go and sell stuff and theyve got kids and house bill too pay etc.. Their picking on young vulnerable people that have only left school for a couple of years and get pulled into this scam. People are probly getting more on jsa than they will make in selling products. DO NOT DO THIS JOB!!!
So i then decided too not go for the second preliminary interview.
ps The whole company sounds like a scam and the man that interviewed me had a strange name that i cant even remember but sounds really dodgey.
Most jobs they tell you exactly what youll be doing, what youll be selling, how much money youll get and if you have any question but none of this was done at this job so STAY AWAY FROM G10 GLOBAL.. ITS A SCAM!!! - Minnie Mouse| 1 replyforgot too say that it was at 50 Wellington street Glasgow.

- sillygirly| 8 repliesI applied to G10 Global through total jobs, I got invited along for an interview today. I looked up the company website, it looked like a child could have made it, i done a quick google search but nothing dodgy came up...normally scam.com comes up if its bad news. so i went along to Glasgow office on Wellington Street. the building looked fine from the outside but when i went in it all seemed very strange. there was one dirty desk in a corner with a receptionist playing music on her phone. grubby carpets, dirty yellow walls, magazines which looked like they had been on the table for decades and sofas which looked like they had been picked up at a dump...not exactly the modern office I was expecting for such a 'fast growing' marketing company. But I was there now so I waited..i was sitting waiting for about 15 minutes, two other candidates came in, just normal smartly dressed people so I guess that slightly eased my thoughts. then i heard a rumble of what sounded like school children but no..it was a bunch of 16 year old school leavers in suits who seemed to think they were onto a good thing. eventually a scruffy gentleman in an over sized cheap pin striped suit showed me to his office. Throughout the interview he claimed I would become a manager of my own office with 8-12 months of working with this company, didn't mention anything about pay or what the job actually entailed. He then began to almost patronize me by claiming he has 'all this' without going to university and that I would learn more by joining this supposed company. He then went off on a tangent about unemployment claiming that I would need this job as most 21 year olds with university degrees are unemployed...would love to know where he gets his stats from...
So after this horrendous 7 minute 'interview' I was told if I was successful he would call between 3-5 to invite me along to a second interview.. I then received a text message at 6pm telling me I had been successful. I then asked my friend if she knew anything about this company and actually got an interesting insight...
her friend worked for G10 Global last October....
she was sent out on the streets 8 hrs a day 5 days a week, no basic rate and selling love film packages.. 2 problems with this
1. they didn't have a licence to sell products on the street
2. they didn't have a contract to even sell Love Film
This led to several employees being picked up by the police.
For some reason the poor girl continued working for them, she was invited to a work trip in manchester..which she had to pay for herself and since she wasn't earning a basic rate or making any more than peanuts from commission she had to fund this herself. She was then told she wouldn't be able to go on the trip as they needed her for other duties..was she re-embursed for the £160 she paid to go on the trip...no !
To be honest I felt like I was being punked at this supposed interview this morning and will not be taking my application process any further.- Caller: G10 Global
- Gaz replies to sillygirly| 7 repliesWell, just reading the previous posts and, in particular, 'sillygirly' I could have written the EXACT SAME thing. No kidding, word for word. I'll do mine anyway...
I'll admit one thing right away, I was a sucker. I fell for an elaborate job advert full of buzz words (but no real detail of the 'job'), so that was my first mistake. But hey, I left school, got a job in a restaurant, went to college, got a job in retail so I had spent little time trawling the internet for jobs. That's my defence anyway!
So G10 call me up after my -stupid- decision to apply (I also applied for NewLook and YesGlobal, which I thought were totally different unrelated companies.... their offices are next door, in the same building!).
So I turn up for my interview thinking the building outside looks like money, there's even a doorman who lets me in. I'm thinking 'cha-ching!'. Go downstairs and its getting a bit basement-like. I walk into a reception and there's an old man doing reception, here's the conversation, its brilliant;
Me: "Hi there, I'm here for a job interview at 10am"
Old Bloke: "Your late..."
(Its 10.03am)
Me: "Yes, apologies about that, I couldn't find a parking space nearby."
Old Bloke: "Fill this sheet out, what job is it your here for?"
(After the dirty look about being late, my mind goes blank... what WAS the official job title!?? [***], I'm going to look like a right idiot here... so I gambled...)
Me: "Erm...I think it was Events Promotions...?"
Old Bloke: "Ok"
(He just accepts my guess and WRITES it on the sheet at the top..haha!)
Me: "Do you have a pen there?"
(its a reception after all)
Old Bloke: "You haven't got a pen?" (Sigh/Huffs/Puffs)
Me: "Didn't think I would need one".
So the old tit has pissed me off, making me feel like an idiot due to his rudeness. Not just me, he winds up another interviewee about not having is CV with him and not knowing what job he applied for (admitted, that is dumb - but still rude).
So I wait on what turns out to be a guy who likes like he was rejected at the audition stage of The Apprentice.
The interview itself was totally surreal. The office... wierd. He has a cabinet in the corner which is full of random products (shampoo's, etc). It looks like it should have photos of people or awards. Anything but shampoo!
He talks mince about me running a Glasgow office in 6 months with my own team. I was like... "whoa Nelly!". He even draws it out on a sheet of paper. I'm heading the top of the world it would seem.
I still don't know what the job is yet. Vaguely talks about money. Moves on to how he wasted his days in a factory but now look at him, etc. Even includes a little bit of patronization... "So, basically, you've been running around like a headless chicken for 5 years and now you've given yourself a shake?".
I wanted to say "well, [***] you for a start, 3 highers, a business diploma, 2 long term jobs, never been out of work since school". Ok, so I might not be shafting people for a living but hey... Anyway...
I left, bemused and more than annoyed at myself for not asking questions, such as "What's the feckin job!?". Later that night, he calls me and, oddly, asks "How did YOU think the interview went?". I was like "Erm... yeah... not bad. But to be honest mate, I'm not entirely sure what the job is yet".
He, obviously having done this 10,000 times before immediately replies "Yep, that's because its just an introductory interview to get to know each other as people, you find out the rest at the 2nd interview stage".
At which point I start researching this mob online and finding out all the dirty secrets. Not once was it mentioned that door-to-door sales was involved (I HATE that stuff, so I wouldn't apply for it knowingly!) or basically annoying people on the street.
Needless to say, that was the last I had to do with G10. It amazes me how this company makes money, pays rent on Wellington Street or what sort of stupid companies hire THEM. How is this operation not shut down? It has to be illegal surely!
It's not as if its some guy working from home, exploiting people. This is a building full of offices in the City Centre of Glasgow. They must interview 50 people a day and I'll be amazed if 2 people go along with this charade.
A quick search on ANY job website and you will find hundreds of ad's of these 'jobs' (more than ANY other job in fact). They pop up in every job sector search results.
Avoid like the plague. - Emma replies to Gaz| 6 repliesI just had a phone call about this! i applied literally 1 hour before my phone rang!!
it was a woman asking me where i se myself in 5 years? and if i could come along to an interview at 10am tomorrow!! and that i could potentially be a manager and run my own team and that i would be put onto a management training scheme right away. - glasgow guy| 1 replyi messed up first interview bigtime, wasnt assesed on my ability, or technique. Just constantly told about the benefits . told that id be on a 4 step programme , amazing benefits at steps 2, 3, and 4. Own team, 100k , company car, and free travel at step 4 within 12 months. Nothing at all about step one. left inteview unhopefull as there were supposed to be 25 candidates , yet recieve call , got 2nd interview, attends interview told told fill in form , speaks to other 2 people who were there for the job. they didnt know what the job was ,raised my suspicions why is everything so positive and vague ? the other guy said he the interviewer just avoided the subject about what the actual job was? receptionist calls me over when she see's me speaking to others . She says she started inthe company the exact same as me , this was also supsicoius i was thinking why hadnt she been promoted to her own office etc? surely she hadnt opted for that over the 100k and free company car , how much does a receptionist really make ? why leave a well paid sales job (no offence receptionists lol) so took out by another young guy who was supposed to do 2nd interview ,and show me what id be doing , assess me and report back to office. really only spoke about himself and how well he's doing and how much he's making. Really trying hard to show of his rolex. He clearly wasnt academic and although friendly i just got the vibe the guy wasnt being upfront/ i felt like i was being sold the job. Wrote a quick 5 min form asking for 10 skills i have , got to no. 8 and he said thats fine , glanced over my form . said thats fine ill report back and well see if u get to round three , gets to office. success 3 rd interview , another easier interview . congratulations ive got the job the only candidate of 25 'supposedly' , despite just saying the other two werent back form thier demo talk. Told id be on mon - sat no holidays , 8am -6.30pm . No bascic wage , still not told what id be selling, to be told next day when ive to start he cant allow me any time for notice. Everything just seemed unreal, everyone tried to show off and brag to make u want the job. i accept the job , not sure but keeping my options open. I dont think ill be going in though, i do think the company is genuine but realisticly theres no basic wage until at least 3 -6 months of making at least 10 , £30 sales per day allowed to keep 10 in commision, thats 200 a day to the company 1200 a week, 4,800 a month for free basically, because they have little or no expenses for your work, by month three thats well over £10,000-£14,000. When you get to step two there is more hours 7-6.30pm 11.5 hours a day , 69 hours a week for £350 basic wage. (this is less than the Minimum wage) . You probably can make 100k but, im sure anyone or any company would happily give you a 100k if you managed to get 20 staff to work almost 70 hours a week commision only. The company always wins , if u are succesfull they win, they make money. if youre unsucessfull they havent lost a penny , so its a win win situation for them in my opinion. Stacey Smith the receptionist 'with the suspicously generic name didnt look like she had a team or 100k a year job despite her claims to having completed the proven formula that the company is so obsessed about. I also seen large groups of really young guys training next door, no one seemed very experienced . I hope they know what they are getting themeselves in for , finally when i was in the interview that i didnt really perform well in i was told that i had been selected over someone older, with better experience so should be really proud of myself but to expect really hard work because he had picked me over the experienced candidate. Maybe i was , maybe they knew anyone with experience would tell them were to go . I hope you find this usefull, if youre a good salesperson then you probably could make money from this, the products however are really over priced and poor quality . The boss doesnt care that much either , would not give me a days notice to start to let sort out everything in regards to my finances , im sure glad i didnt fall for it , hope this was helpfull and you know at least what youll be getting yourself into .....

- JobHunterHad an interview with these people on Thursday, as soon as i entered the office my spidey senses tingled.
Seems they are now at 21 Blythswood Square and going by the name Glasgow Interactive, yet still display lots of G10 global stuff in the office.
I knew it was a scam as soon as i set foot in the carefully staged office, there was no way it felt like a working breathing place of work, and when i was told "we have been going for 6 months" website (as bad as it is) claimed 6 years, it smelt to me like a pyramid scheme and it turns out that that is probably what it is.- Caller: G10 global/ Glasgow Interactive

- SamI applied for this job late last night 01 october 2012.. I had an email in my inbox saying i have to call the number 01412210616 to arrange an interview. i called and the girl STACY SMITH had answered and said she would call me back as some one was at reception desk, she called back 30 mins later and asked me a few qestions like... where do u see yourself when u are 27. im 22. What do you want to be.. etc etc... I was a bit taken back as i have never ever been asked these questions when i have had a call with interview times etc.. they should ask you that at the interview.. right? Iv been out of work for a year now and i was quite excited with the fact that i might have a potential job lined up. She said my cv was very impressive and that it was the best she has seen, i was what they were lookign for even though i didnt have any sales experience, i was a barmaid for 3 years and worked in admin for 1. I still didnt knnow what the job title was. Fair to say.. now that i have read this.. I definatley will not be wasting my time on them. They are wasting my valueable time by trying to scam people like myself and everyone else. They gave me the address 21 blythswood square, I am saprised they havnt been rumbled... Maybe its time to complain about this company. I know i definatly will be. Dont fall for this one folks,

- SamGeorge Kennedy, Managing Director of G10 Global in Glasgow has warned that too many people are falling victim to career scams that hit hopeful job-seekers. As well as costing people money, these scams are costing people a great deal of time. There are great career opportunities available nationwide, the key is to realise the genuine ones from the scams!

- Greg| 2 repliesExact same process with me this morning - thought it was a decent opportunity as I had seen the job posted on S1 - utter scam. Considering going in for the interview anyway and asking awkward questions, mostly for my own entertainment (unemployment really is this boring). Would encourage everyone to e-mail s1 and ask them kindly to stop posting such garbage as they lose credibility, and also suggest called Stacey back and persistently asking questions about the role.

- BrianI am not long back from my interview. Everything I have read has happened today. Saying my cv was impressive. Where do I see myself when I'm 27. They r ment to be calling me back between 3-5 today. And asked if I was available between 9-10 if I was selected for the job . George Kennedy was the guy I met. Seemed too good to be true
