Got a call from them today and accepted an interview but after reading this, probably won't be going! Did think it's INCREDIBLY dodgy that they didn't tell me anything about the job over the phone, nor did I actually recall applying for the job. I'm pretty desperate right now but not THAT desperate.

hi I applied for this job too and got a call from stacy smith and an email asking me to attend an interview the next day. I did attend cant remember the guys name who conducted the interview but he did talk about going higher and higher and managing a team becoming your own boss, etc , etc.
He did speak about campaigns and when he said this I immediately thought of when previously had been accepted with a company ( 8 months ago roughly) called The Marketing Company.

The key words sounded identical. However The Marketing Company actually had me go to Ayr(squashed in a car with four other people,my  first day and asked me to contribute to petrol costs - cheek)  and go round chapping doors but using lines like " Hi , I'm not here to sell you anything" even although we had to sign people up for Diabetes UK. The more they donated the more commission I would make it turned out. However after turning up to the office in the morning (pre Ayr trip) in heels and going round all these doors with another girl who found it an absolute joy , I quickly phoned the "boss" and told him this was not for me and I would be taking the next train home (of course funded by me ).

So do you think this is the same company trading with a different name???

The only thing that is still making me even think of going for " a day with the manager " on Monday is that when stacy smith phoned between 5 -8 that same day i had the interview I asked if it was commission based only and she said No , No there is a daily rate (I think she called it ) . I then explained to her about the previous job ans she said no  its nothing like that who wants to be out chapping doors in the winter , but you find out more on Monday see you then??

could someone please reply to this as the only reason I cannot make a decision and need a job I have kids and my landlord is selling the house so I need a job by the middle of this month or I will be homelss, please someone reply I am soooo confused.

Thanks in advance if you do :)

    Hi dear readers,

Long story short... I would like to share the same experience as everyone else. ....and thanks for sharing your experiences, I won't show up tomorrow to the interview.
Please don't waste your time and work for those scams. Oh by the its a door to door sale, no Marketing No Office or  Customer Service.

Thanks again for sharing your experience

    Stacey,
I didn't turn up for this appointment as it said no where on your ad that this was a door to door selling job. Upon inspection of the company and research into the management I was appalled at what was found. With a doubt that my CV was even looked at it seems your company disregards working rights by using people willing to work only on a commission basis. As well as this, there was a newspaper article about your managing director, George Kennedy, and the allegations made against him are quite disturbing. Therefore I will not be a part of filling his pockets whilst I spend most of my time travelling to shopping centres or council estates selling unwanted products with the myth in mind of having my own company within 6-12 months.
Don't give empty promises to people. Also you may want to research the opinions people have on G10 Global. Maybe a name change could help publicity.

    Regards

Got an email from Stacey asking why I didn't turn up, this was my reply...

I just received an email saying that they called me today and they couldnt get me and reading all this thank god. I seen this vacancy through the government jobcentre website that annoys me surely they should check these company s out. The advert i applied for said "no door to door cold calling" but it didnt say they cant put u out i n the street to sell whatever. The base is at 21 Blyswood Square the prostitutes probably make more money in blyswood then you would in this job. Total farce sounded be allowed to prey on people who are deperate to find work in these hard time. I will be running this by the jobcentre.

Just back from an interview with them, they have changed their name to "Glasgow Interactive" although, there is still a variety of G10 branding all over the office!

It was also Stacey I spoke too, don't think I'll be returning there call if they offer the job.

Of course, what does it say about me if they don't offer :p

    Hi guys

I got a call from Stacey Smith the same as everyone and had my 'interview' today, a whole 10 mins the guy spent drawing a four step process to head my own business. I felt really uncomfortable and had a feeling something was wrong when I went in the office and there were framed old firm tops on the wall.. Not professional at all!

Would just like to say I have complained to ASA regarding the false advertising as it doesn't say it's only commission based. Advertised to myself as a customer service roll 'clearly glanced at my CV to see what my experience was' which is clearly rubbish it is actually sales.

Hi guys .. Yeah I applied for this job also. Within 1 hour I got a phone call and the alarm bells started ringing then. I then googled G10 and I was like "mmmmmm..." My boyfriend then had a look and thought the same. My interview was meant to be the next day but I did not go. I emailed them telling them I couldn't make it. I got a phone call round about the time I was meant to be there but I just patched it. I got a cheeky e mail to ask where I was. Aye that'll be right... so they got a cheeky one back.. Think I had a lucky escape, ... Just glad I've got good intuition. :D xx

Look more into that before taking on a job  like this... I applied to G10 and didn't go for interview. I always like to keep my eye on the jobs market and I've found more adverts ( glasgow interactive) ect... So be carful. Good luck xx

An actual real event assistant job is not anything to do with marketing or sales. So advertising for this role when the actual job is not event assisting then yous are full of gear.

I've just been given a job at G10 Global at 21 Blythswood Square by the man himself: George Kennedy, I went for an interview yesterday, got called back telling me I had gotten through to the second interview, went today (20/02/2014) to the second interview to be told I was picked out of 20 people. I'm 18, a uni drop out and I work in Primark in Clydebank, I couldn't believe I had been picked out of all these older, smarter looking folk. It did seem fishy with him banging on about the 4 stages in 12 months to become a manager and I still don't know the job title... I doubt I'll go in tomorrow, excuse my language but am I [***] getting scammed off of some short fat man in a suit. I feel so [***] stupid.

    Would rather not say
    Hi

I used to work for Glasgow Interactive but left after 3 months of horrible working hours, three (or more) colds brought on by standing in drafty shopping centres ranging from Shawlands (outdoor event) all the way to Edinburgh. Most recently - it was Tesco's we were in, again ranging in considerable distance from the office. Travel expenses were not covered so for £240 basic (for 6 days work and 11 hours a day...you do the math) you were to cover lunch (which was not a full hour or half hour break, but 'smart breaks' of 5 minutes to  'maintain a positive attitude', travel costs and topping up your tablet with data credit. Oh! and your travel to get to and from work!
Add all that up and you don't have much left, so trying to pay rent and bills on a flat and feed yourself became pretty much impossible - I only managed because I had savings which I no longer have because of this 'opportunity'.
Having time off was a huge no. Trying to get a dentist or doctors appointment was pretty much impossible and if you did have to do that you were treated like you were weak or letting people down. Also, if you were too sick to come in, you would be banned from meetings until you had exceeded your targets for a set number of days in a row.

I will say that the people I met there were nice people just trying to make something of themselves but most of them had no souls or morals as they were willing to lie to 'observations' to make them join GI and tell them several untruths.
I fell victim to this and now feel like a complete idiot.

The 'managers' are also terrible and their brainwashing tactics were disgusting. The reason it takes so long to become a manager in a stable job is you have to learn to become a good one. - these managers havn't.

They bullied members of the team, fired you for having personal problems and expected the moon from people who didn't have the moon to give.

I will clear up a couple of things that have been mentioned on this though -  G10 Global is a separate company doing the same thing as Glasgow Interactive. They share an office and an 'atmosphere' room (the place where there's a lot of clapping and cheering).

All in all, stay away unless you live at home, have nothing to pay for and have no outside responsibilities. Or if you're a robot with no feelings. I have a lot of respect for the people who can work there for a long period of time however I would not wish it upon my worst enemy.
