they just rang me and asked for me personally...i told them that person was not in and they said they'd ring back!! i am ex directory and all my details are blocked fom companies contacting me. It was a female and she siad she was GSK?? i have just rung it back and they ar engaged....obvioulsy annoying someone else. i  forgot to ask where they got my number from as i was in the middle of doing dinner...gggrrrrrrr!!!

I just called this number as well I have been getting calls the last few days either for research or some automatic female voice saying congradulation, to which i hang up straight away but the numbers are with held now and again, this one wasnt and I had a call an hour before to which my son answered saying it was his aunty, the lady on other end told him this but i called his aunty and she did not call, so I out of pure annoyance I wanted to know who was calling, does anyone know if this number can hijack your line, I used my mobile and am a bit worried I might get a huge bill i cant pay. I am paying bt to stop these calls. When I called the no it sayed something about market research so hung up straight away.

Rang me at 8.05pm,went to answerphone, then they hung up! Glad I didnt answer.

I've been plagued by these calls from the Luton area on 01582 630014 and 01582 630015. They're certainly persistent but I haven't answered any of them as yet. Pleased I didn't bother now! It seems odd as no-one except family and friends knows my mobile number.

If you are absolutely certain that these calls are from GFK-NOP their Managing Director Phyllis J. Macfarlane will be most distressed to hear that staff are not following company procedures and will do everything possible to ensure no further such calls are made.  Her fax is 020 7890 9001, phone is 020 7890 9200.
Please do not trouble the lady if you are not totally certain otherwise your call would itself be a nuisance call.

i have had the same company ring me ,but  there is only 6 people who have my new mobile number,how did they get it and has any one had phone calls from a 0207 number

just called for my husband - very edgy about what it was all about.  Told them i was in TPS but they weren't interested.  They said it was some kind of customer service follow up.

This number just phoned asked 4my ex partner i said he dnt life with me anymore and she put phone down. Just phoned number bk and it say about a survey.

they just keep calling about once an hour. Next time I'm going to ask if I can talk to Phyllis! (see above)

Called just now, didn't get to the phone in time but they didn't leave a message.

I've just had a call from this number, but I didn't get to the phone on time.
I didn't recognise the code so decided to identify it on the internet. That's when I came across this site and your comments and this has put me on my guard.

If they phone again, I'll be the one asking the questions! I'll also be asking them not to ring again.

I too am part of the TPS and my phone number is ex directory; I only give it to close family and friends, so I'll be asking them to explain where they got it from!!!

I'll post another comment if there are any further developments!!

Had these numbers ring twice today: 01582630014 01582630015 and it's a foreign sounding person asking if i can answer questions for a survey the first time. Second time mum answered and it was a different voice and she told them not to call again. (So am waiting for another call lol). If they ring again i'll ask where they got my ex-directory tps number from!? Then i'll be reporting them.

Just called 01582 630014 recorded message saying the company is GFK NOP - market research.  I will report them as I'm registered with TPS.

GFK are a market research comapany. Large organisations use them to carry out research. They probably got your number from your bank or whatever organisation you are a customer with that you have contacted recently. I work for a large banking organisation and we use them for a few things. They don't get all your details, just your contact details and what survey they are to carry out on you.
Getting companies like GFK to contact our customers is another way to try and improve our service. People moan when we don't do something and then moan when we ask something, we just can't win. It is annoying getting phone calls when you don't want them, but it is a good way for us to survey.
They don't do marketing or sales calls only customer service calls (well for us anyway) so TPS won't do anything.

They asked 4 me by name??? then asked me if i wud answer aload of questions.
I said yes for the crack and then i was answering questions for about 15mins then i just hung up on them.
Somebody tell me who they are???
(I am going to try and trace them in a bit and if i do i will let you all know)
