Do you people seriously not understand how marketing companies work? This isn't a scam in the slightest. The vacancy posts are very brief and only offer you the minimum amount of information about the company. You get the real idea of what the company's about at your interviews.
If you get an interview, take a print out of the advert you applied for, your CV, a print out of the 'About Us' and 'Company Info' pages of their website and just listen to them. If something sounds wring to you, pick them up on it and ask questions, let them know you aren't privy to falling for bullsh*t. If they speak to fast, ask them to slow down and, for God's sake, read your contract WORD FOR WORD before you sign anything. If you don't understand it, ask.
SMS aren't the only company out there doing this. This is a basic marketing company doing the exact same thing every other marketing company does, and trust me, after working for a fair few I've gotten to know their tactic. So no, it's not a scam, it's business. If you can't accept that then maybe you're looking in the wrong field.

    Dont do it
This company, whilst technically not illegal has a lot to answer for when it comes to morals and ethics. Misleading job adverts, no basic wage, 'self-employment' (when it suits the manager), ridiculous hours, brainwashed employees, fake promises and generally a load of rubbish. Changing name whenever they want, changing number, changing address, high staff turnover, pyramid schemes, very poor websites, pretending they have lots of money to lure you in.

All in all i total scam in that sense, soon the government will make this thing illegal like they have done in some other parts of the world and then the people wasting their lives on this will have no job to speak of and a load of brainwashed rubbish written down on a CV with no hope of finding another job. Good luck paying bills. Steer clear.

The company is a scam. I went for an interview, thinking it was professional sales work. Offered me a second interview, saying I was meeting some of their clients and handed me off to some random work-experience guys who'd been there two weeks. Was escorted to a bus station and told I'd acually be spending my day and night cold-calling in some random town no where near norwich, trying to get people to sign up to talk-talk services. I had no money on me (having left my bag in the office) and only a low-battery phone. They took me off to this random place, and after 2 hours of probing my reluctant trainers/kidnappers, I found out they weren't going to be taking me any place home soon. I ended up walking off from them in a hurry (on my on in a strange place) and borrowing the company phone iN some random chinese take away to call my frienfd to pick me up. Horrible experience. Dodgey, misinformed nonesense.

Yes I had an interview with SMS then applied for a second job under the company name of Morton.  Was told they are nothing to do with SMS though share the same building.  Went along for interview and they actually share the same office.  Don't get taken in and if you are told to go to 11 Offord Place regardless to the name of the company - don't go. They've probably set up under a different name.

hi. i have a similar situation, except the company that wants to interview is called Morton Solutions Ltd, but they seem to be located in the same place as the ones being discussed, i.e - First Floor,
    11A Orford Place,
    Norwich,
    Norfolk,
NR1 3RU. but their telephone number is different as well. its 01603 230193. they didnt call me, they emailed me and sent their number as days of the appointments. i dont drive so decided to google this address to find out how far from the train station it and stumbled upon these forums which are interesting, because of the same address! is Morton Solutions Ltd just another name they use? or this company different? my 'interview' shoud b tomorow or wednesday so any replies would be helpful. thanks.

Hey - this is also the same number for junior enterprises and venom advertising - as said previously it's a complete scam and basically means cold calling and no basic rate of pay

If a job is advertised it is a job. Jobs have wages. If there are no wages it isnt employment.
If you want to trudge around in that type of work self employed start a company and get your own contracts.
Otherwise you are just funding some [***]'s life.
The flimflam of the con artist has always been the same. From a minicab co who who pays you a small commission of the fare to drive they're vehicle but make you pay the fuel and insurance with no holiday pay to the sales pyramid builder. Have you noticed that these sort of firms are always hiring ? Earn a grand a week?
Its because its B/S. They prey on the gullible, desperate and young. People can end up bankrupt if they dont cotton
    on early.
    Stay away.

Yahoo seems to have removed them from the new veirsons and many people have lost them as well. People in the UK were always blocked from them in their version so here is a work-around they found. Bascially the rooms are all listed in a file in yahoo messenger cache and you just carefully add them back.. OK, here's a workaround. You *can* have access to the adult rooms, the problem is that they do not show up in the list of rooms when you click on the chat button. The solution is easy. The first time that yahoo starts it downloads a list of the available rooms   and filters these according to your location. When the rooms list opens it uses this downloaded list. To get the adult rooms back just close down messenger and edit this list.go to program filesyahoo!messengercachenow use notepad to open a file that has chatCategories in its name. Scroll down to this line:after it add the following:save the file and start messenger.

I made a few modifications to that pliugn on my own site. I forget all the details, but I know I pushed the Notification checkbox above the Post Comment button. Oh yeah, and I think I changed where it stores data so that it doesn't create any new tables and I added a little Yes / No indicator on the edit-comments page so I can see if people have chosen to be notified of replies.

Morton solutions IS A SCAM. Cold calling. No basic rate of pay. If you sign ANY contract they don't give you a copy. It is 100% commission. They prey on the gullible, and those desperate for any jobs ESPECIALLY GRADUATES. They also work alongside MGLimited/MGNorwich who are probably part of the same company seeing as they are in the same office building.
You will be working below the National Minimum Wage.
Long days: 11.00 - 8.30 - often later - oh and you don't pay for any travel money. You become self-employed if you work for them so don't bother with them.

    Don't waste your time.

Quintet Group are the new Morton
    Hello,

Quintet Group in Norwich are the new Morton Solutions from the same office in their new location. Thankfully, I found all this information and decided to not to turn up to the second round interview!

    This is the email you will get;

    "3 Merchants Court,
    St Georges Street,
    Norwich,
    Norfolk,
    NR3 1AB

    Tel: 07803 781 290

    Dear applicant,

Congratulations on being selected for a second interview at on 28/05/2013 at 12:15 PM.

Obviously the preliminary interview is on the brief-side, but a second interview is a chance to spend the entire day with the company, get a feel for the industry and see some of our campaigns in action.

Quintet Group will be looking to get you know yourself in more detail, specifically evaluating you on your level of ambition, your ability to come in and learn quickly, your work ethic and whether or not you would get along with everyone on a social level.

Please come dressed in business attire and bring a notepad and pen. We also ask that you ENSURE YOUR WHOLE DAY IS CLEARED FOR US, we make decisions on the day and those that go through to the final stage of interviewing could be with us until 20.30/21.00

I would advise reading through the website prior to your interview and to dress for any adverse weather conditions as you will be out of the office for most of the day. Please be prompt in arrival as we run on a tight schedule and delays could result in you losing your interview. Please come back to reception where we will go through a brief agreement form with you prior to the interview beginning.

Congratulations once again on making it this far, you did a great job impressing in the first interview and we look forward to having the chance to get to know you in more detail."

Just stay, stay away. This will get you nowhere, and is a complete and utter waste of your time, whilst they just go laughing to the bank. Hideous, criminal business.
