Got a POSTOGRAM MESSAGE from a company called M.C.S., Unit 3 Cadzow Park, 82 Muir Street, Hamilton, Lanarkshire ML3 6BJ.  The message asked me to ring immediately with no other detail.  I cannot find any company with this name at this address.  Is this a scam?  I am living in Dublin and find this request very peculiar.  The phone number I was requested to call is 00441698303111.

They are a Debt collection tracing services owned by Halifax Bank Of Scotland

They also use the number 01698303111, check the boards for the horror stories !!!

I called them and they are not ready to spk further and very rude, instead they want reference number and all that before they tell anything to you about why they contacted you in the first place.

Got a call from someone who left a message asking me to call 00441698303111. Something about a delivery to my house?

Didn't actually call me, just went straight through to my answerphone and left a message- which obviously saves them money and time.


Don't think I'll be calling back somehow...

They called my moms next door neighbour asking if they new her saying they had a parcel delivery and then asked if her daughter lived there (me) .....
Very scary o think. How did they know to call the woman next door??? We dont even know her well. Very naughty indeed if it really is a debt collection agency!

I got a very peculiar call today, 2 calls infact, which aroused my suspicions. I used to live in Dublin and they called my old irish mobile phone and left messages saying that they had a delivery to my home address. Since I dont live in Ireland anymore I was suspicious. The guys name was James Woods and the number he gave for me to call him back on was 00441698303111.
This is very tricky as 01698 is a motherwell number and alot of delivery and distribution companies are based in motherwell, so you might actually believe the call!
I wont be calling them back!
One possible user of this service is ESB in Ireland.

Kim Begg 01698307276 left a message from MCS regarding a delivery.  They a debt tracing company.  For Bank of Scotland which underwrites loans for Home Shopping Direct - through littlewoods catalogue

james woods should not be allowed to use the excuse of parcel delivery to get people to ring the number 01698303111 and company,s that deal with him should be ashame of using some one who uses underhand tactics but like every thing in this country it,s always the poor that have to pay for having lost jobs due to banks ripping them of and also taking tax payers money to pull them out of the [***] .james woods go and hang yourself [***] hole ..

Please be aware they are now using an Irish number - 01 878 7888. It's the same company. Names used include Kevin Doyle and James Woods. They've been tracing me too, have no idea what for as I don't owe money to ESB that I know of. Suspect someone particularly nasty in a house I used to share has used my details without my permission. Not calling either way. I have no problem calling back ESB or any other business who wants to get in contact with me.

Yeah happened to me aswell. Call kim begg on this number . . . . . . . They were looking for my brother he lives in England. We wouldnt give them his address. They pretend to be delivering a parcel but are debt collectors be aware!!!!

Had this as well, they tried to contact me via facebook, saying they had some post for me at an address I had never even heard of !!! Funny this because I live in France

I recieved two answerphone messages from James woods!!!! Apon ringing back i was told he was out of the office and would call me in the morning. I have tried to trace the company and found out all sorts.  Strange thing is i don't have any debt anywhere, never have done and if they really are something to do with the HALIFAX then they should already have my address as i have an old account with them. Not that i use it anymore but just checked and its still active.  I will not be answering the call tomorrow as if they lie about why there calling you, what other crap will they try and tell you.....
