- MarkieAutomated and silent calls can be reported here - http://consumers.ofcom.org.uk/tell-us/telecoms/privacy/ DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT AND REPORT IT. If Ofcom/ICO (do not bother with the TPS they are paper tigers) get swamped with complaints, maybe, just maybe they will actually do something.
- Caller: Scam PPI
- Call type: Telemarketer
- NDNo message, very annoying.
- KurtThis type of telemarketing uses obtuse logic>
1: If i am already making PPI claims with the help of one PPI claims agency, why should i be put on a list for OTHER PPI claims agencies also to offer their services to me?
2: If i have made successful claims and these are completed, why should my name continue to be on this services-sectors lists? If it is completed, it is completed and there is nothing more to get.
3: If i get calls "reminding me" of the need to chase up a PPI claim, do they not realise just how much contempt builds up for such american style marketing practices?
4: Often they talk of strict deadlines by which claims should be in by. I checked this with the appropriate bodies and there is no such thing as a deadline. Some say a claim "can only go back 6 years" or "has to be in by the end of the month when legislation will change" This is all [***], pressure-marketing. In my own case i am a bit of a squirrel and have kept every bank statement and every credit and debit card issued to me since 35 years. Fact is i am claiming stuff on credit card number dating back 35 years and it is a valid claim - and once one works with a PPI company, they say there IS no deadline.
I learnt the hard way that these PPI claims companies are actually quite useful, even though they take a very large percentage. The arithmetic is simple: although the government has LEGISLATED the topic, the Banks are dragging their feet and use all manner of blocking tactics. If i applied direct to the banks i was always told i had no right to any claim. Once i used the services of a PPI claims agency, backed up by their solicitors, bit by bit, the resistance of the bank crumbled and they have made payouts.
Note this: Even when i had actual bank statements proving a PPI sum had been unjustly applied and submitted this to the banks, they wrote back to say i had no right to a refund. Once the solicitor got involved, the banks backed off and paid-up. Oh: a little trick that works well: ALWAYS send a copy of any correspondence to the Ombudsman. Tell them to keep the letter on file. When the banks see this comment on correspondence, this makes them pay up.
Another trick the banks use: If you submit a claim based on one credit card number, THAT is the number they will respond to...so if you do keep all previous numbers (some change cards annually), submit a claim for EACH number and you will get a separate refund for EACH number. This implies that each number will be pursued by the PPI claims solicitor. I can verify this gets results. Slowly but surely i have received one cheque in refund after another...as i said, dating back 35 years....so better to use a PPI claims company, as they will help to get some of the money back. Not all but better than zero...and that cant be bad as the money was taken under false pretences to start with. My mortgage lender told me i could only take their mortgage if i paid £88 per month. For the same cover i pay now, £4 per month, elsewhere. The original lender refunded me the money. I HAD to use a PPI claims company to help me, as the initial personal application was ignored...so i cannot complain about the principle of using PPI claims companies to support an application but this services sectors marketing method is a nuisance- Caller: 01792 211845

- Lilly CarmichaelGot a call from this number many times before and after I picked up one time I said 'Good morning, please remove me from your marketing database". The Welshman said 'no' because i didn't 'ask nicely'.
Needless to say I was not amused. So immediately after that I installed an app called Mr Number on my phone (on Android but I'm sure there's similar apps on IPhone et al) and put the number in to blacklist. The jammy dodgers tried calling again today and before I even recognised the number or answered, the app promptly hung up the call and told me 'number is in your blacklist'. The number didn't even get a chance to ring or register as a missed call for me to waste my time looking at.
Might be worthwhile adding these apps to our phones to stop us being bothered at important moments by nonsense, time-wasting calls as I was at work at the time. - MiahAs you are aware this number is related to ppi. If u have an iPhone download Truecaller. You can block these types of calls

Called back and got message about this being a Sales and marketing call. If you wish to stop receiving, register with TPS. Fat lot of good that will do as these Cowboys just ignore that anyway.
