Just got two miss call.

Received a call from this number yesterday, didn't answer. Just checked it here and have now reported it to the ICO. (ico.org.uk)
If we all report these calls the ICO will be forced to do something about this nuisance.

I had received numerous call from 01792 211846. They were calls to do with PPI. Its would be ok if it was a one off call but to be called approx 10 times per day is not correct practise.

I just blocked it

Got a missed call from this number 10 mins ago. No idea who it is. Not ringing back given the messages on here! How can I find out who they are? Can't we complain about them to someone?

Just got called on this number at work - blanked it, this website is so great for confirming I didn't miss anything by ignoring!

PPI message automated. i hate there you cant even swear at them fruitfully.
Ignore and reject all calls.

Took this call and spoke to a very helpful robot - it seems I'm in line for a payout of about a zillion pounds! I got straight on to the Maserati dealership and ordered a fleet of exotic sports cars, and I'm just in the process of negotiating the purchase of Richard Branson's island Necker.....

....and if you believe all that, then take a call from these people, you're just who they're looking for....!

just silence when i answered. so annoying. Another one to go on the blocked numbers list.

So, this is obviously a number linked to a scam / ppi claim ./ robot trying to scam people.

What can you do? Well, to be honest, not a lot apart from not answer the phone. The reason why they seem to phone then hang up could be two fold - firstly, they are just verifying that the number is live. If you pick up, they know that the number they have on their database is still live. If you answer, you may find more and more people calling.

The other reason could just be a crap system they have. I.e. their automated messaging system does not kick in, so it just collapses the call.

Either way, all you can do is report the number to the regulators (Offtell), maybe try and list your number on the TPS (which is suppose to protect you from this, and makes any call from marketers to your number illegal).

However, in real terms people - just try and remember the number and dont answer it is the best advice.

I keep getting calls from this number, like many here, they just hung up when I answer...which makes me weary. If it is a PPI call from a machine or even a person talking to sell you or even scam you, is a pain but doesnt spook me...
It gets me that they call at any time , they wake you up early or call at unwanted hs of the evening....will try report this
