I worked for 15 years in the Telecon Industry and can confirm that you can stop any and all these dodgy calls stone dead, but unfortunately you have to spend money to do it !
Registering with the TPS service is a waste of time and effort because the majority of dodgy callers either dont give a toss about the TPS or will find ways around this issue.  These guys are running businesses and making money so they do not care who they ring up, when they ring up or what regulations are out there to stop them.  Ofcom do absolutely nothing except make a few condescending promises about what steps they will take one day-perhaps, might- eventually etc and on and on !  Bear in mind that there are many executives in Ofcom who are or were with BT at some stage of their careers-so is there a hidden agenda !

Anyway if you really want to stop this problem then get yourselves TRUECALL  call blocker- I did and it's brilliant but they are not cheap- and most definitely I am not employed by them nor have I ever worked for them.  Good luck out there !

Hi, I got a call from this number two days ago and my 4 year old answered, when I said “hello” they said my name and wanted me to answer questions for a survey. I just said, “Sorry no,” he asked again in an angry voice and I said no gain and put the phone down. I have now had a few calls but my answer machine answers them. I have now put it in my phone the number and named it Do not answer.

Never answer my landline as it's usually marketing calls. Phoned me this morning when I checked 1471.

Market survey company. Told them to bugger off.

This was a recorded message saying I was eligible for £1'ooo from the government and just to press 9.   I thought it might cost more to reply !!!!

Called twice today & hung up on answering, expecting urgent call, therefore worrying.

Received a call from this number, from a female, who told me that she wasn't selling anything, I explained that I was workling from home, she apologised for the interuption, and rang off.
Now feel a little rotten for not sounding her out.

She did say the name of the company, but I forgot!!!

I did a 1471, which provided me with this number.

Called at 4.26pm, lots of background noise and talking when I picked up the phone.  When I said 'Hello' they put the phone down.  I have had this before!!!!

Whenever we get these people phone, we ask them to hold for a second, then hold the phone up to the Carbon Monoxide alarm and press the test button. 9 times out of 10 they usually hang up straight away.

Hunt them down like dogs as that's what they are and shoot the scum, then hang them out to dry before you set fire to them, that way we can all have a peaceful life. instead of being bombarded with these calls.

Don`t know who the caller is, but the call originated in Watford.

ICO are all useless, and it can save you money by not having tyo pay for call barring etc from your communications provider.
