This telephone number calls my house phone all the time!!!! All the callers have Indian accents but quaint British names. Very persistent (sometimes call 5 times a night!) - 100% a scam. Wish the police could do something. I would also like to make everyone aware that sometimes they refer to themselves as Microsoft Tech Support or Microsoft Partners - do not trust them.

They have been calling me today for the first time.
I asked them how they knew that I have problems on my computer (which I do but it's an internet connection problem which I'll sort out with my provider). She woffled on about some sort of satelite picking up error messages from my pc which I thought was pretty clever !!

I also asked them to identify my PC, but they couldn't.
She insisted that I go and switch mine on but I said that it was two floors up from where I was at that time but she basically ordered me to go up and turn it on !!

I told her to 'go away' as I was eating lunch and she then got her Supervisor, Jim Taylor, another Indian/Pakistani (??) to phone me and he was also insistent...

They gave me that number 020 30510987 to call at local rate, when it clearly isn't and wanted me to call from my mobile, which I'm not.

Next time they call I won't be so nice and polite.

just had a call from these people, trying to get me to part with money! As posted by PC, they took me to the error messages log where they told me not to click on the red triangle events 'as this would cause big problems'  (said events trivial). After 15 mins I suggested an alternative solution to the potential problems - Linux - and they hung up. Really enjoyed that. Now is there a legal recourse against such activity?

BTW, the Indian-sounding gentleman was today called 'Gerrard de Costa'!

Indeed, a complete scam. I deliberately cleared my logs so there were no errors recorded, so got passed to more senior technical support. Tried to get me to go to a genuine remote access site by using the Windows run command and starting with iexplore. BEWARE, this is a genuine site used by real tech support so is not blocked and Norton does not stop such self inflicted harm. But once Gtech get remote control of your PC they run a script that disables your antivirus and loads 6 rogues of their own. Then they want money for messing up your computer.

Spoke in phonetics, so I replies similarly with Romeo, Uniform, Bravo, Brave, India, Sierra Hotel. They seemed very offended by the word India, as though it was a racist slight on them. Couldn't work out I had spelled rubbish to them. Must be thick as well as being an Indian scammer.

These scammers call me weekly in Canada. VOIP allows cheap calls and there seems to be no way to get off their list.

if you get a call from these scam artists then I suggest you spin them on as long as possible.  I managed to keep the joker on the phone for almost 30 mins playing the role of a techno-idiot.  Remember, the longer they are being screwed the less time they will have to scam anyone.

Have had several calls from these a***holes, and again today. Indian/Pakistani clown by name of 'Andy' rang to tell me my computer had downloaded 29 viruses and multiple spyware and if I would switch it on he would help me to clear the problems. Unlike him, I did not arrive on the banana boat and hung up on him. The worrying aspect is the information they have to hand, phone no., address and name which, to me, is cause for concern.

This is the third time I have been contacted by these people - unfortunately the first time I fell for it and gave them my credit card details.  Fortunately the credit card company investigaged and I was refunded the full amount, just over £120 I seem to recall.  This morning a company calling themselves GTech support tried the same thing.  I obtained a tel no to call them back - 02030510987, a person called Jaz.   If I had more time I would call it and find out what further "rubbish" they are going to try to tell me.  THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM but I have to admit they are convincing.

Quite agree re concern over how they know my name, phone no etc.  I have been contacted 3 times over the last 3 years.  First time I fell for it, second time I told them all about the scam and they hung up, this morning |I played them at their own game and promised to call them back.  Surprisingly the tel no they gave me 02030510987 is answered.  About time these people were caught.

Got a call from this company (gtechsupport.net) yesterday, 05-07-2012. This is the second call in two weeks. The caller ID was 206-397-1126. Since I live in Seattle and that is the area code, it sure sounded ligit. The guy went through the same spiel as above. I ask what country he was in. He said "India". Whoa - Red Flags.  When I told him this was bogus, he insisted it was OK. I could verify by going to www.gtechsupport.net. That's like saying "Sure I'm legit, check out my website at www.urscrewed.com".
Anyway, I told him I would check it out and hung up. If they call again and I have the time, I'm going to waste a lot of theirs with dumb questions and delays. I even have a few very old Visa cards I can try out.

I wouldnt trust this number at all. someone called mark robinson (allegedly  from windows technical dept) called me and said that my computer was downloading files etc that i was unaware of and it was slowing the performance of my computer. he quoted my name and address to 'prove authenticity' but it was a load of BS. i fobbed him off and said that i would call him back as there's no way i was having any such issues. DO NOT TRUST THIS CALLER!!! i said i would call back and he quoted 02030510987

I have just been contacted by a foreign sounding individual whose name was given, after some persuasion as David Peter. Stated that he was from Windows Service Desk and that my computer was being corrupted as we spoke and that he would help me sort it out.  Very persistent and insistent that I go and log into my computer etc... I did say that I hadn't got a computer (not strictly correct!) which resulted in a rather irate response from him.
I told him I was not going to do any such thing and asked for name and phone number - given as 0203 0510987.

I did ask as to whom he thought he was calling but he didn't really respond to that.
I would not trust any of this rubbish or engage any further with them.  If they do phone again it will be a very short conversation and not necessarily polite!

I just had an interesting few minutes following the instructions of a scam artist. I happliy followed his instructions which took me to some harmless error messages. I manged to keep him on the line for almost 15 minutes. When he asked me if I wanted his help to rectify the dangerous viruses I told him that I liked my laptop just the way it is and I wasn't in the slightest bit concerned. He tried to negotiate for a few moments then hung up on me.

I get calls from Injury Lawyers, Mis-Sold Financial Product Specialists and scammers. I treat them all with the same courtesy, ask interesting questions, agree with their comments but never, ever give them any joy. While they're wasting their time with me they're leaving some old dear alone!

I agree with you, very foreign sounding grammar in their responses. Just had them on the phone and I told them not to hang up while I questioned their motives. It does make me wonder if the person calling has any idea about what is going on. I have a feeling the caller gets people to do whatever is required for them to get access and are oblivious to what some more technical person comes in to do once connected. She certainly convinced me that she didnt know what was going on.
