I just Googled Steve Wilson, he called me today!!!! Said he was from People's Telecom. Very insistent that I had a problem. Also spoke with James and he mentioned Mack. Check the names on some of the earlier positive comments! They wanted me to give them access to my computer with "team viewer". They gave me  0261004232 as a contact.

They called and told my wife they were from Microsoft. And that our computer was infected.
I had herd on the news about this scam to infect your computer.
Do not let them have any personal information or access to your computer. If you are having trouble vist a known web site.

DO NOT GIVE ANY CARD PAYMENT DETAILS OVER THE PHONE. COMPANY OPERATE IN INDIA AND WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND LOCK YOUR COMPUTER. I HAVE SPOKEN TO THE OPERATORS WHO REFUSE TO ENGAGE WITH ME WHILST INVESTIGATING A FRAUD COMPLAINT. IF THEY CALL OR ANYONE OFFERING 'ONLINE' WINDOWS BASED 'FIXES' HANG UP IMMEDIATELY."

Complain to the ICO who can fine companies up to £500,000, especially those who ignore the TPS do not call list and those who are still called despite a request to be taken off their call list, irrespective of the TPS.

WARNING****  SCAM CALLERS****  TODAY - IN NEWQUAY, CORNWALL. SCAM CALLS ARE BEING MADE TO MY NEIGHBOUR'S FROM A COMPANY CALLED "GROUP RESOLVE."  INSISTING WE GO TURN OUR COMPUTER'S ON AS THEY CAN DETECT THERE'S A PROBLEM IT!!   HOWEVER, MY NEIGHBOUR TOLD THEM, "OK I'VE TURNED IT ON NOW!  ...AT WHICH POINT HE CONTINUED TO REEL OFF THE SO CALLED "PROBLEMS" AND HOW HE CAN HELP!  SHE LIED, SHE DID NOT OWN A COMPUTER TO TURN ON - NOR HAS A COMPUTER EVER BEEN USED FROM HER HOME.

They left a message when I was out but it was just background office noise. I have had people call me ostensibly about problems with my computer many times. They claim to be anyone from Microsoft to Talktalk and hang up when I tell them that I don't have a computer. It's ALWAYS a scam!!!!!

Ha, you're one of them.  Yo're nae isn't really Steve Wilson is it?  The first give away is that your use of English is not quite correct. Tell me, how can these people "prove their legitimacy" before you give them details about your pc?

This is most definitely a scam. The caller couldn't even pronounce my name!

My mother was given this number to ring as they said they would fixed all the extra under wanted calls coming in for a £1 they just needed bank detail! This is obviously a scam please do not fall for it

This company called my elderly mum again today claiming to be from call prevention services and saying that we had registered with the service but the contract has now run out and they wanted to verify my details and then put me on a plan,which would obviously cost,so I would not get nuisance calls.
They gave me this number and said ring it and I said I would not ring but I would look it up online just to prove that they are not completely honest I think they masquerade as all sorts of different companies.
I told him quite clearly that I would not be paying for any of the services they are offering and he put the phone down.

Caller informed me that they were from CPS registration and they needed to update my details inorder to stop unwanted calls. All they needed was my bank details!!. When I refused to give details they put phone down.

scammers - telling me they wanted to block unwanted callers and that it was a government funded thing however tried to get my bank details out of me,  until i told them i worked for an internet security company and then suddenly the line went dead

Just had a call from this number claiming that they can block all nuisance calls,after giving the above number as their customer service number the Indian man called Jake then proceeded to try and take my bank details,on my refusal to give them he became quite aggressive saying if it was a free service I would have taken it l explained that he was no better than the others as it was an unsolicited call trying to sell me a product that doesn't exist.

I just had a call from this number. They said that they could offer me a service to stop nuisance calls. I told them I was registered with the TPS but they said that it is about to run out. What a load of rubbish. I gave him a piece of my mind with some pretty tasteful language.

This is a scam. What is worse is that they are posting messages on this forum to give the impression that they are genuine. Please don't be taken in by this. If ANYONE calls you to say there is a problem with your computer they are 99.99% sure to be criminals.

Had 3 calls from this number today. Every time I answered with my usual "hello" there was no response for a few seconds then a recorded female voice said "goodbye" and the phone went dead. I really can't believe anyone these days would believe that a cold caller asking for bank details was anything but a scam. Trouble is - your being conned is encouraging these scum to continue. Please get wise - if you get a call like this either just put the phone down or tell them where to go and then put the phone down.
