I also got the call saying my computer was running slow, which it was,and they cleaned it up and it is running faster.I have paid for the Windows 7 upgrade and they have been on the phone to me and my wife constantly, working remotely on installing XP sevicepack2 which is needed to install Windows7.
They admit to having a problem and insist they will sort it as they need the software for my PC to acccept the new service pack2.
If it is a scam then they are continuing to call me and are still trying various downloads to sort the problem. Why would they do that if it was a case of take the money and run.?

My wife has now had an unprompted call from Compstep Ltd,   AKA,  The Support Online saying they could not fix the problem and suspect it "may be a hardware problem" and that they would refund the money in full and to allow 3 to 4 days for it to appear in our account.
I will be back on here ASAP if it not.

livepcsolutions.com called me today, and I managed to keep them on the phone for 45 minutes.  The first consultant (Female, Indian accent?) asked me to run me to run "eventvwr" to prove that my PC was fault, and then the "engineer" (better English, still a accent but it could have been from anywhere, Indian OR Filipino OR something?) asked me to install "teamviewer" to fix the problem.  I did not do this, nor give them my Credit Card Details.  (I forgot to tell them I was running on a VM with SELINUX)

Their phone quality was really bad.

While I chatted to them I made myself lunch (A toasted Tuna Sandwich) I only hope that the 45minutes I wasted chatting meant that livepcsolutions didn't get to call that Grandmother somewhere and mess up her Granddaughters PC/videochat software.

BTW: The "Engineer" finally hung up on me when I said I had googled his company, and the company "livepcsolutions" was more famous then MICROSOFT.  He instantly hung up on me.  LOL as if being compared to MICROSOFT was a bad thing!!! ;-)  (Maybe honesty amongst thieves?)

    Suspicious replies to suzi
    suzi, Bob,
I guess from the fact that you are the only two sticking up for thesupportonline.com and by your poor English that you work for that scam company.  Why on earth would you need to install Team Viewer on someone's computer just to allow them to validate a copy of Windows 7 like they tried with my father.  Scam.  Scam. Scam!
