I got a call from a man who barely spoke English - sounded like an uneducated [***]. I asked him where he had got my number and he said 'YOUR BANK'S DATABASE'.  I immediately knew it was a scam and hung up.  I calld back to find out the name of the organisation in order to report them to trading Standards and a message saying something about an echo test.

PS It is a bit of a coincidence but I recently got my phone upgrade and spoke to various Third World call centres in the process.  A crooked third world call centre employee probably sold my details to this company. Public flogging is too good for these corrupt third world people!

How crazy is this??? Everyone has a call from the same person but the same number is used for different things. For me i decided to call these little buggers back and an american lady started talking about some kind of a test, which is you taking down the phone and everything gets repeated back to you. I believe ET is recoreding our voices for their experiments, so they can sound like humans and yes they do exist. I said my nasty words, its a start.

I reckon its androids that are calling us....I just got one, but of course the android did not leave a message on my ansaphone. I guess that its `Marvin' from `The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy'.....he used to look and also get somewhat depressed!.....as you may recall.... he'd be given the job of parking space jet cars, while the others are out dining at the `Restaurant at the end of the Universe'...and Marvin's  saying somewhat monotonously....."I'll be only doing this job for another million years".

He's also his own predictive dialer....and Marvin's multi-tasking as he's also programmed to do `pinging'.... to see if....."there's life down there down there Jim....but not as we know it"....then if someone doesn't respond within a (short) time the phone just goes silent......Marvin.....somewhat like The Terminator....."will be back"....any time during the next million years!.....oh wot?!

Phone hacking.....just a party stunt!?!

Your telephone number is on a list that is sold to these kind of cold callers . Just dont ring em back

This woman who sounded Australian rang asking me about PPI insurance... couldn't really hear what she was saying due to busy house lol..... I ended up putting phone down in the end!!

A few minutes ago I had a missed call from the same number without leaving a voicemail.
I don't know why I decided to check it onlne first before calling back to see who it was, and I found this long string of complains. I am glad I did that. But it is sad tha there is no law or authority which can protect us from scammers like this. Thank God for the WorldWideWeb.

got call to day from foreign sounding lady who sai she was from first call. she asked me if I had been miss sold PPI insurance and asked me to tell her all my financial accounts over the past 6 years.

I suggested to her that I di not have any PPI agreements and she hung up.
when I phoned back the answer machine message talked about an echo est and everything I say will be repeated.

Just had a call from this number on my mobile, didn't answer it but seconds later they rang on my Husbands work mobile, didn't answer that either, as they are both on different networks can only assume some [***] has sold them the numbers

Call off them too, said they were based in London, which is possible saying that they can send a rep round to visit re PPI. Bloody annoying I am in work and I get these calls.

Automated message, said that everything I said would be repeated, some sort of test.

Got a call to my mobile. It sounded like a gentleman of Indian extraction who said it was to do with misselling of insurance. He hung up when I asked for some ID

Hahaha, this made my day! I hope she [***] in her pants! This is by far the most imaginative way to get rid of call centre workers, I applaud you, Mr Police Officer!

This number rings, but does not gve suffucient time to answer. Does not leave messages, or send texts. When rung the voicemail says something about it being for an 'echo test' or something similar. it does not allow leaving messages. I am fed up with them.
