They's still at it. Have had call about PPI and another about what they called my Pension Review. I asked for the address and got 220 Flanders Drive, Durban. The operator also said that their Head Office was in Kent, presumably they meant in England

They are a bloody pest !

Reported them to both the TPS & the ICO

this is from company FIRST CALL from the accent they appear to be south african although phone number check places them in central london...It is for ppi claims

Got a call today from these people - said have you not heard of the telephone preference service? - they said would not call me again!

Its not a spam or scam. If you do not want to click on the link just search for cpr call blocker. Sky and Virgin charge between £5-8 per month for a call rejection scheme. This product worked great for me after it became clear that Virgin had given me a previously used number.

just received a phone call from 'first call helpline' - strange accent difficult to understand - had my name/address and asked if i was under 70years old - told me for my safety call was recorded according to guidelines of the trading standards authority - clearly there have been complaints
said they wanted to do a lifestyle survey so continued - first question is my supplier for gas and electricity the same?  lifestyle survey???? my foot - told them that wasn't any of their business - he sighed and put phone down!

keep a whistle by the telephone = when they call deafen them with a short sharp blast. that's what they will get if they call me again. if we all act together we can deafen the whole lot of them

I am sick to the back teeth with calls from first call group I am contacting a lawyer and taking this further

Received sales call from "Dave of First Call Group" at 17.43 hours 15.10.13, who was first breaking the law as all my phone and mobile numbers are registered for exclusion of sales and marketing calls with TPS. In addition First Call Group had personally been told not to contact me, several months ago.
Today Dave immediately began "This is not a sales call" but then went on to read through a sales canvassing script about Pensions. When I asked him to confirm the company he replied "First Call Group".
I said "You just said it's not a sales call. Are you calling me to try to drum up business?"
He promptly said "Okay, sorry about that, Goodbye" and teminated the call. I tried ringing the number back (02070603887) but it doesn't ring or respond, probably by deliberate design to prevent complaints.
SO ....The complaint details were immediately passed online to to TPS and to ICO (Information Commissioners Office) who can and will deal with these scum.
If you can't contact ICO by internet, complain on telephone via 0303 123 1113.

Obviously some scam, although the interesting thing is they give a UK address so should be covered by TPS

These are the same people as 020 7060 9336 and 020 7060 3772 who have been reported to the ICO and TPS multiple times and are on every web site like this.  However nobody in the UK can do anything as this is a South African company, but the authorities have no power to stop BT etc. selling them a telephone number which connects to another country until First Call are prosecuted in South Africa.

Just an unprofessional moronic company. I have been plagued by calls from 1st Call Group over the last few days.  How simple can it be to firstly Check the TPS register and secondly to not call someone who has said they don't want to be.  Obviously difficult for the idiots that work for this company as they have admitted to checking the TPS list and then uploading the details of those who are on it rather than deleting them.  The unintelligent robots that work for them also cannot speak English as don't call me is quite clear.  However thanks for breaking the law and I am not claiming compensation from you for it.  Kerching.

You can do something.  Contact the company in this country that they are operating on behalf of as they are ultimately liable when these South African (or anywhere else for that matter) companies call on their behalf.  I've done just that this week and got an offer of £100 compensation from one of them after First Call called on their behalf 4 times in one day.  If enough people do that then hopefully they'll stop being used.
Over the last 2 years I have made over £500 in this way from these such companies.
