Scammers mentioned elsewhere. Avoid!

Scammers trying to sell equipment that will 'Save £40 off your next Electricity bill'
Checked with Electricity board who verified this is a scam.

This is a con. They try obtain your bank details by saying they are calling on behalf of British Gas.

Do Not get involved with is man or woman, its a scam. Do not give him or her any details of your banking or cards.
This company has no affiation to British Gas .
They have foreign accents and the male supposedly (Paul Woods is very smooth) BEWARE.They will try and sell you an item that will save you on your electricty consumption.
They seem to target the elderly and vunerable.

Had these scammers con my elderly parents into giving them their details, they said they were selling a device on behalf of EDF that would save them money on their electricity bill. They initially wanted to set up a direct debit but thankfully my father refused but stupidly he did give them his Barclaycard number.

We had to get the card canceled with Barclaycard and get a new one issued, once the card was canceled they (the scammers) rang again and said they had just tried to take payment but were denied, this despite Barclaycard confirming they had already taken one payment of £99. So once they have your details they will keep taking money.

As I said, thankfully the card they have the details of has now been canceled and a new one issued, the parents don't have to pay the bill either.

AVOID THESE SCAMMERS AT ALL COSTS!!!!

Tried for a second time to scam my mother who is nearly 89. , had her bank details and every thing. I rang and told them no deal. It may be a co incidence but she had money taken from her account a few weeks ago  with internet purchases - she does not own a computer. Luckily HSBC spotted it and cancelled erroneous purchases.

My relation who is elderly was contacted by these scammers with the same offers and details as reported by others. I sent her to the bank to put a stop on everything. So far nothing taken.

Person called Alan Cooper (said he was from British
Gas) phoned and said since i had been up to date
and a good customer by using gas and always paid
my bills that they were offering a device which i just
plugged into somewhere in my home which would
save up to 40% off my energy bills.I was such an
idiot and fell for this SCAM hook line and sinker. It
is a complete CON. DO NOT GIVE YOUR BANK
DETAILS...i have had to cancel my card to prevent
them taking money from ny account. As soon as i
came off the phone i knew I WAS CONNED.

I received a call at 5.30pm Saturday 27th November 2010. I was lead to believe they were calling on behalf of my electricity supplier. They had my card details; knew I was retired;  my date of birth; my electricity supplier was EDF; and that I paid monthly by direct debit. They said because I always paid my electricity account promptly,and was retired, they would send me a monitoring device which could be plugged in anywhere which would give me a saving of 40% on my bills. My first thought was that this was a government initiative - so I listened. Too good to be true; I am already monitoring my consumption with an Owl Monitor which cost less than £20 from B&Q. The woman on the line, Sheryl, was very fast talking from a prepared script. She passed me to the senior manager Shaun Williams, who also spoke very very fast.  Towards the end of his script he casually mentioned that £99 would be taken from my account, and he was sure I would like to buy him a large box of chocolates with all the money I would be saving!! THIS IS 5 TIMES WHAT I PAID FOR A MONITOR. I told him I was not interested and did not like the "sales" tactics. He put the phone down on me.  I immediately cancelled my debit card and checked no money had been taken from my account.
This is a VERY PRESSURISED SCAM.  Put the phone straight down and don't even bother to talk.  You will be talked into disclosing information which is none of their business, and possibly the hassle of cancelling a debit/credit card

Same thing happened to me wanted my bank details which I would not give.  When asked why they wanted this they said that it was required to verify my address. What rubbish.   Have reported it to Watchdog, trading standards and what I think may be the parent company in the USA.
Somebody really needs to find these people and stop them.  They did say that their address was 81 Oxford Street, London but whether this is more rubbish I am not sure. May take a trip up to see.

My mother also had a call from Henry Paige on 02084329528 and same again 81 Oxford St London, she was passed onto Paul Woods who said he was head of the electricity board? (I think not) the company was ITC Developments Corporation. They knew the first four digits of my mothers card and again said she could buy them a box of chocolates with all the money she would save. They wanted £99 and said she would save 40% on all of her energy bills.
I phoned them back and asked what they were selling, they said it was a Spike Bursting Device and again they said they were head of the electricity board.
I informed trading standards, Police and had to cancel mother’s bank card.

i just checked all the comments but as far as i know they are not scammers as i have got the device and i am saving money and i have the customer service number for them and every time i can get in touch with them so nothing like that i dont know why u writing all this [***] do not spoil the name of company i have confirmed with the trading standard and its all good and fine and they are based in US (Florida and NewYork)

Be on your guard folks, this scam company are still operating; targeting old people.  Same old story. I am in the process of cancelling my in-laws' bank cards right now!

A call will be placed with the Information Commissioner's Office tomorrow. Who knows, maybe one day someone will do something about them!

After looking into this and a little bit of google i found:  http://www.itcdevcorp.com/index.htm  If all the script errors arent bad enough click Products then the cheapest one "buy Now"  Page doesn't even exist, it links to paypal.  Right at the bottom of the products page there is a missing image supposed "RBS World Pay"

I too got a call from "Alan Cooper", bearing all the marks of previous postings on this site. I was very dozy and gave out my debit card details - then realised I was being scammed, said no thank you I don't want this and put the phone down. Now I must cancel my card I think. I'm not usually taken in like this and can only put it down to the skill and charm of Alan cooper - yes, an asian sounding gentleman.

Just had a call from same folk!

An energy device that plugs into your wall and saves you money? what a load of rubish.

The guy on the phone was very persistant too. Asks you to confirm details about yourself that  they dont have! I gave him my date of birth but he miss heard and confirmed it as the wrong date!
Thats when I realised it was a scam. Almost caught m off gaurd!

Similar to above, my mother came to see me very, very worried and anxious. She felt she had been pressured into something that she didn't want. Again her hearing is not ideal and found it very difficult to understand the accent. They also rang her back 4 times at 6.30pm on a Friday. I then got a web address from them www.1stopmarketingsolution.com . This does contain the device they recommend, although not a lot of detail how it could possibly work. I also contacted the Electricity board who do not endorse this product. The very worrying aspect is seeming to know the first 4 digits of card details, and the details of her electricity board billing. A card change also arranged.

22/1/11 My 81 year old mother was today scammed out of £99, she has had to cancel her card & account as a precaution, I wish she had told me earlier in the day as I Googled the phone number she was given where I saw a tyrade of other unhappy sons & daughters, This has caused inconvenience which in comparison is very small to the inconvenience that Mr Shaun Williams will discover as he attempts to drive his car to his bogus place of work with TWO broken legs which WILL occour if ever I manage to find him, God Speed.

My 85 year old father has also had "the call" from 81 Oxford Street, London selling him a device to save him 40% off his electricity bills for life.  He unfortunately gave his full bank details!  The device arrived - a plug with a green light on it.  When we saw it we asked him what it was and he explained.  The invoice he was sent with the useless device has an address in Florida, so you can see how they must be living on all the £99 collected from these poor unsuspecting folks.  He will have to get onto the bank first thing tomorrow to cancel his card.  Where did they get his details from?  They knew that he paid his bills on time and which company were his suppliers (EDF) they were totally convincing.
