Funny how your names match???

This mob have just convinced my 80 yr old mother to 'buy' something that will reduce her electricity bill. They had phoned at least 5 times previously.
Fortunately it seems her bank (HSBC) are aware of these people and are issuing her a new card and cancelling the transaction (£99).
Interestingly, a few months back a 'very nice man' rang her and sent a free gift to her for telling him her date of birth. Since then she has been recieving what I would call targetted age related offers - such as funeral cost insurance and this latest scam. Presumably her details have been sold on to a mailing list organisation. There are some Lovely people around eh!

I've just had most of what's been described. The first man called himself John and was quite impatient and pushy when I said I didn't want to change my supplier (which is why I thought he was ringing). His senior supervisor called herself Annie Wilson on extension 1010 at 81 Oxford Street. If you google the name of the company ITC Development Corporation of Electricity Suppliers... in USA it comes up with a pathetic little website. I have cancelled my bank card.

I love it when scammers try to justify themselves on the Internet. It´s always the same blurb. Go out and get a job making a contribution to society you thieving scrounging person!

Phoned yesterday offering me a saving of £40 on energy bills as my credit rating was very good etc. Very persistant. Foolishly gave my details. Will now alert credit card company and cancel payment and card

I too have been scammed this afternoon by Darren , an Asian man from ITC  81, Oxford Street London Tel 02084329528 stating he could save me money on my electricity bill by plugging an item into a socket . He was very persistent , spoke quickly with an accent and already knew my date of birth, which energy co. I am with, that I pay on time  and details of numbers of my Barclaycard . I stupidly gave them the last three digits on the reverse of the card.  He used bullying  tactics and passed me on to two so called 'managers' .  I stated I was not interested in the item I was told cost £99 as I could get one from British Gas. As soon as I put the phone down I realised what I had done and I cancelled  the card.  I also got my wife to check out the details I had been given and she found this site.

These scum yes scum ITC Developments Corporation pretending to be from my mothers electric company trying to sell her a piece of equipment to save her money WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP!!!! and if your reading this Paul woods u piece of S£$% come to my door and try and sell it to me or is the airfare to much and i will remove you from existence if any one is reading this let your parents vunerable people you know work colleagues friens pass it around lets close these people DOWN NOW

Got a call today from ITC Development Corps trying the same scam. He hung up on me after I tried to get details about where he was calling from etc. Difference now is that they are calling from a blocked number. Number may display as 'International' on some phones.

My mother-in-law got caught out by this. When she told me about the device which would slow down the electricity meter wheel, I realised it was a scam. I've cancelled her card but I'm not sure yet how much they managed to get out of her account. Hopefully only £99.

They said the company name was Adhico and the address was 81 Oxford Street, W1D 2EU.(An empty office block in Soho). I don't know how this can be stopped as they probably keep replacing the mobile which they phone from.

Why can't the banks trace where the money goes and inform the police?

The same scam has been tried on me this morning. An Asian woman calling herself Michelle  noted that I had always paid my electricity bill by direct debit promptly, had a good credit rating, and that as a pensioner could get a plug-in gadget to save on the power bills. Somehow she already knew my name (which I confirmed), address, bank, and asked about the expiry date on my card. When she asked for the numbers on the face of the card I decided that this could be a scam, asked her to wait until I got the card and would ring her back. The bank informed me that this was almost certainly a scam, and advised cancelling my cards, which I did on the spot. The scammers knew too much about me already.
To all getting such an offer-- decline and inform the bank and the electricity company and any other authority deemed necessary.

These people are still calling. and not just to 80 year olds.  Very slick, know all your details...bank card now cancelled and bank informed. Now letting police etc. know.

My wife got 'the call' today about this scam, she did however manage to ge a phone number 0208 432 9528 which she called back speaking to Paul woods & another rude arrogant individual Lawrence who eventually shouted that they would 'take the money from our account and then told my wife to F**K off before hanging up.... Nice eh

I have just had a similar call from an Annie Wilson on the same number as above.   For all the money she is going to save me, she likes dark chocolates!   Again, she knew my debit card number and address, postcode etc.   Needless to say I cancelled my debit card immediately.  The telephone number given comes up as "not recognised" anyway.    I have reported it to my local police to warn others of this scam.

Rang as with other people have described to sell me this energy saving device.  Had my address etc - I started to get suspicious and when I started to ask questions they eventually hung up.  I have spoken to the bank and cancelled my card as a precaution.

It appears that these marketeers of scam electrical products are given details from a corrupt employee at one of the power companies. Contact your power supplier and inform them of this and demand a security check

Same story as everyone else!!

81 year old mother scammed by these [***], sent a cheap bit of [***] that will probably set fire to the house at a cost of £99. Athico web site waste of time with no replies from emails surprise surprise.

Rang the 020300449309 spoke to a muppet in Bombay or somewhere similar (probably Mr Abdul Knobhead) who will ring back with refund details.!!

Why are only some banks awake regarding these scams? and stop payment. We are paying enough to the banks so why not help the customers (or is this one of Sir Freds post retirement scams, they all piss in the same pot in Bombay and Edinburgh)

The scammers knew too much about me already.
