I spoke to a lovelly guy named phil off this number and he saved me €300 a year by switching me over to their amazing Phone and Broadband services!

Without doubt, the best thing I've ever done with my phone in my life!

This number is some sort of automated dialer at UPC.
If you answer your phone you are transferred to a real person.

But if your voicemail answers it still transfers, and by that time your voicemail message is over, which is why they say "hello.. hello.." because they think there is someone at the other end.

I wish UPC would stop bothering me with these sales calls, im gonna call them up and change my number to some fake number, very annoying to get someone calling me to try and sell stuff.

Half four on a Sunday I got a call from this number!!!

this number has been ringing me constantly,0214852700,and as its a new mobile id just bought,and just givin the numb to my nearest n dearest,i was suspicious,and googled de numb-I was dumbstruck to read how this number has been calling ppl!!!

Cont...I even Got a Call From dis Number at 7am this Sunday Mornin! So I Doubt its a Company, someone told me it cud b skype,but i didnt giv me numb te Any1 on de Net!!! And dis numb is Reported All Over de Net For Scam Calls!

I've been getting the same since last Fri, whern I answer they hang up so I rang the number back and there's an automated number asking me to ring 0818 272827. Got thru to some girl in a company called Homevision....she has nothing to do with NTL/UPC/Chorus.

I've recently joined up to UPC but have no interest in broadband etc....I just want to be left in peace. It seem a bit dodgy to me, I've checked UPCs web-site and one of their numbers are 021-4852700. I'm ringing them now as this is complete harassment!!

Sorry....there was a typo there in my last post, NONE of UPCs number is this 021 number. I rang UPC and they were useless. They asked me if I wanted to be taken off their mailing list!!! Seems to me either Homevision are using the UPC name to get some business and UPC don't seem to bothered about it!

Irate phone number rang the wrong number

I have been getting the same call's didn't answer now get call's from the following NO 0214977300 don't like to take these call's they just do my haed in. and how the hell do they get my number anyway???? is there no data protection for the end user anymore!!!!

It's Zevas Communications - provider of outsourced customer contact solutions for companies.Based in Ballinrea, Carrigaline, Co. Cork. They are in the golden pages. Considering reporting them to Garda.

Some dick called me on this number and asked for me by name. When I confirmed my identity, he hung up. I'll be following up on this one. Different but maybe related: I was called a couple of months ago from a US number - 001... - and two [***] claimed to be from UPC and wanted to give me a free broadband phone, if only I would supply my bank account details.

I just had a phone call from that number didnt answer it keyed it into google and this site came up. No voice mail left

just rang back the number there & it was an automated response saying it was NTL and to ring this number 0818272827, rang initially and got some lady that answered hello, give the poor girl a bit of an earful because i thought it was a scam after reading a few posts here, thought it was a little suspicious so rang back & got talking to a lad that answered hello NTL, he said they are having problems with this and are trying to rectify it!!! hmmmm
got taking off 2 mailing lists!!

Just had a call from this number today. Then another call about a half an hour later. This one worked and it was, indeed, NTL. Offering me a landline. Which is about the fourth time they've done that at this stage. Anyway, I politely told him to go away and asked me to take my name off whatever marketing list they have. He agreed, so, hopefully that will be the end of it.

Got a call off this number 20:05 on a Friday evening, foreign accent offering broadbad phones, did not say Chorus NTL/UPC.
Surprised to hear they dont answer the phone with compliance "hello NTL, "X" speaking " etc etc.

Sounds dodgy, I work in Customer Service and know NTL's Customer service and sales process well (dealing with them in the past) they always answer the phone the right way.

Most Irish call centers get their calls handled from an overseas call provider (usually a call server type of thing in the USA or India) calls are bounced over there (to an IQS (interactive queuing system you've all heard them!) and over to the line providers (Eircom, etc)in Ireland. So this could easily be an exploit on that line, or a mix up with the company (all that tells the calls where and when to bounce to Ireland in a MS Excel file hosted on a server...which could easily have an error in it)
