The number comes from Contact Centres Australia Pty Ltd and has been contacted by the Australian Communications and Media Authority ( ACMA ) because they have received a number of complaints regarding calls coming from 02 8031 1300. ACMA has written to them regarding their obligations under Do Not Call ( DNC ) legislation and is being monitored by ACMA and is gathering evidence to support an investigation for alledged breaches of the DNC legislation.

I've had 2 calls from this number now, both at 3.40pm - I've got absolutely no intention of answering it, so they're wasting their time.

It's in Inbound/Outbound Call Centre that works on commission for various companies and the funds received from returned calls.....I cant stand them!!!!!! So over their calls it's not funny!

I have twice today received a call from this number. Even though it was on a work phone, I didn't like the look of the number,  I didn't answer.I then checked the number and found out more information.

My 10 year old has been getting calls from thus number on his mobile for weeks. Only today have I managed to answer in time, and they asked to speak to 'stanley'. When I played along and said he's not here right now, and who's calling, the lady said that she will call back later and hung up on me.
I work for a telecommunications company, and can tell you that you can have your carrier lodge an unwelcome calls investigation. The owner of the number is then issued with a letter to warn them to stop, and if they continue, the matter is taken further.
I know I'll be lodging this if they call back again, they should not be harassing a child!!!

Got the tell tale delay before the person started to speak, and as I started to hang up heard someone there - Aussie accent.  I figured they'd call back if it was legit, but they didn't.  I'll be leaving these for voice mail in future.

I called them and they confirmed that it was their number. I had them add me to their 'internal' DNC list (and I am also on the ACMA DNC list).

No appology or acknowledgment that they had called me 4 times in 24 hours with a call that hangs up when you answer and no way of calling back to stop the calls. Lucky this forum could point me in the right direction.

Wished the guy all the best with his ACMA investigation.

This number rings me several times a day when I pick up it hangs up on me, this has gone on for many months and I'm very annoyed I noticed other people are experiencing this problem.

if for example one of the messages stated they identified themself as calling on behalf of a superannuation company, firstly superannuation providers do not outsource these sorts of calls... these calls are done directly by the superannuation provider's administrative team and under privacy there is information that is provided that identifies the provider to the recipient and if telephone contact cannot be made, letters are sent to the customers requesting the information.  The SES also is a not for profit organisation and do not have the funds to hire external call centres to solicit donations.

my suggestion to all, do not answer any more of these calls and request your service provider be it telstra, vodafone, virgin, dodo, optus, who ever to block the number from their end, blocking it directly from your phone is easy to bypass, all they need to do then is block the number on their side and it will go through as a private number.  Be very careful as there are scams out there that will then steal your "line" and accummulate mass amount of charges to your own phone bill.  The safest thing to do is, simply, don't know the number then dont answer, allow it to go through to voicemail.  I too received a call from this same number today, however, after me saying "hello" twice I hung up, I go by the theory if it's important they call back.

If I receive a call from an unknown number, I like to leave it. If they're genuine, they leave a message on the answering machine. If they hang up, they're usually bogus - same applies to private numbers and overseas private.

This caller claims to be working at the Cancer Association in Cottesloe, WA but it shows a NSW number! Upon asking why, the caller said she is calling from a call centre outsourced by the Cancer Association. Telemarketers are really annoying me as I am running a country-wide business and I really don't have time to waste to listen to their nonsence.

Got a call and same thing, hangs up after 2 rings. called back and got a message it was a charity, charities usually have people manning phones not a message bank

this number rings and naturally, no message is left. Just give me 5 minutes alone with these guys

Constant calls and hang ups or weird messages

Cancer charity selling teddy bears. They can't tell me when I last contributed (it was last month). Told them to take me off their list (she couldn't). Unfortunately charities are exempt from the do not call list.

Call terminated no sooner I answered it. First call today, but I believe this is same number that pestered me some years ago with the same "call and hang up" scheme. Was very persistent that time.

I have been caught in the loop too. Lucky I Googled the number first. I'm very grateful for this site BTW. Be assured I shall not be wasting my time nor money pursuing this inappropriate behaviour. I hope the authorities toughen up and do something about this soon.
