I have not answered any times they call, but there is deff something fishy going on.  I have placed an ad with Ebay in the last month, and my number is only a few months old so it would not be on any leads databases.

But WHY won't they speak?  I sold things on eBay a month ago but if it is someone ebay-associated calling, WHY OH WHYYYYYYYYYY won't they say anything and just hang up straightaway?  It's getting to me, as you can probably tell and still sounds very suss.

Even if it is eBay related, wtf is their job - to call and see if someone answers?!!

Hi guys, whoever put this Website up is linked to the calls. I think it is a marketing campaign. Wish there was a trip to Hawaii as a prize for guessing the right answer!!!!

After several days of calls I finally spoke to someone yesterday, aparently some job board starting up against Seek, but they haven't emailed any info through and the call/hang up in still happening.  Most of our office is getting them (mobiles on job postings)  Anyone else a recruiter or sales? ie mobile plastered all over the internet?

I received a call from the phone number 0280618280.  When I answered, the person at the other end of the line disconnected the line.  When I returned the call of the person, it said that the number you are calling is currently switched off.

They've been calling me non-stop every day between 9:30 and 10:40. Finally connected after so many times of answering and them hanging up. They are apparently a site called "binco.com.au" that opened on Monday, allegedly. Like with Te-dawg they said they were a new job advertising site and offered to put my ads on for free (after asking if i advertised online and then sounding surprised that I do). If you search for the site it doesn't come up.

The girl was mumbling and very nervous and couldn't give me straight answers to anything. I gave my email and she said she would email. Nothing yet. She also asked for my postcode to which I gave the generic Sydney postcode.

Assume they want to get your personal details under the guise of advertising for you and then rip you off.

Same here: They keep calling me a few times per day. Calling back - number unknown. Where can we address this issue? What official organization in Australia can clearly investigate and act to stop this from happening? Looks like they are up to somthing, but is not clear what... Any idea what we can do about this?

Another clear thing is that they are collecting and calling the numbers published on various sites by people selling stuff (like ebay and gumtree)...

But why would a job board contact us?  Wouldn't they sift through who to call and who not to?  Because I for one definitely am extremely content with my jobs.  Still driving me bonkers as they called at 1 something pm today then again just now at 4:14pm!

It seems when I don't answer (as I did what some of you did and saved it as Nuisance Call so I KNOW not to answer) they call back again.  If I do answer, they leave me alone till the next day!

I'd been getting calls for about a week, same problem as everyone else, no one there, and disconnected when I call back.

This time, I answered and got a guy asking me about a desk I had posted on the Trading Post website. He offered to transfer the ad to his site for free, to increase my chance of selling it. I can't remember the name of the site he is from tho.

I just googled my own phone number and lo and behold it's all over the freaking web. It makes me realise how careful you have to be putting your number on the web. I have used a few free sites to try and get rid of a dog and ebay to sell something.

FYI I also googled my email addy and its all over the web too, I made a few enquiries last year and they seem to derive from that, it's like some [***] gets a hold of your personal contact info and exploits it to others.

I'm getting the same thing for weeks.  Doesn't matter if I answer or miss the call.  They keep calling.  Have called it back several times only to get the message that the line is busy or switched off.  Looks like a VOIP generated no.  I think they are up to something, trying to get personal details or access info - keep a close eye on your phone bill.  Bet there is some scam going on.  Go get em James Bond!

I'm on ebay & trading post.  It might be the trading post as ebay usually doesn't give your number unless its on an invoice.  I gets lots of scam emails from the trading post about adds asking if it's still for sale and that the add has been duplicated - they ask you to click the link to confirm that it is your item.  DON'T DO IT - this is a SCAM!  Report dodgy stuff to the Trading Post. Hope this helps.  The other STUPID thing I did was to half enquire about earning money fromn posting stuff on the internet.  luckily I used semi-fake identity until I could confirm whether it was legitimat and have been flooded with spam emails ever since.  can't remember whether I gave them the mobile no. which is being called by this mob???

Probably harvesting valid emails and mobile numbers to sell to telemarketing companies. For every viable number they provide, they get approximately $16.  Well worth one or two quick hang up calls.  Unfortunately, there's not much you can do.
