Had a call from Trisha saying that she was from mytechonline and that they worked for windows.She said that my computer had a virus  and that she would show me and they would fix it, next minute my computer went haywire. being old and not knowing much about computers I was taken in by these people. They gave me the phone number. 0280915001. After they had conned me I rang the number but kept getting an answering machine. That is when I realised That I had bee scammed. I contacted my bank and the fraud section of the bank is conductind and investagation. The bank recovered my money. Two days later I had a call from a 'Verification Officer  called Stephanie" who said that she was from mytechonline and requested my password for my computer. When I told her that it was a scam and that I have given all the details to my bank and that they were investigating, she got angry and hung up. Don't touch them.

Yep mytechonline is still at it.  They have called me 5 or 6 times over the last year usually around 7pm at night.  This time I led them down the garden path for a while while they went through the usual Event Viewer crap then I jumped on my soap box.  I asked "Anna" (usually it was "Stella") why she was doing the wrong thing trying to control other people's PCs.  She maintained she was doing nothing wrong of course.  I then jumped a little higher up on the soap box and brought religion into it ;) she was Christian as it turns out and I gave her a little lecture on right and wrong.  I said "Look everyone has got to make a living but there is a right way and a wrong way.  Try to do the right thing."  Admittedly, job options are probably not that great in Mumbai.  She maintained she was doing no harm all the while so I bid her good night.  Hopefully they will put a little mark against my number and not ring it again.  They'll probably use my call for training purposes... ;)

Do not, under any circumstances give these predators any access to your computer, they are scammers.

Reputable computer service people do not cold call in this way. If in any doubt, just ask them if they are a certified ICT professional member of the ACS, or if their company is a member of the AIIA. If they dont know what you are talking about - hang up.

They thought they could make my mom switch on her computer and get access.
She hung up and rang me after that. I immediately asked her to shut down the computer thinking maybe they have already hacked in.
I then did some research and this is what I found..........
They are not MyTechOnline but some company located in India.

To all the scammers of this world. Please remember the 7th Commandment. " Thou shalt not steal". What you are doing is stealing. Stealing is a crime. Criminals get punished. You might be laughing and saying " Catch me if you can". The fact is that you can run  but you can't hide. Remember " whatever thou soweth thou shall reap". Its only a matter of time until you get justice payment.

I am getting a number 80199 coming up saying we will call you if you win the voucher. No idea what voucher!! My mobile bill was really expensive due to this. How can I stop it. I have had loads.
