It's clearly the call centre company these charities employ to help with fundraising. They do the PCYC, asthma foundation, RSPCA, KidzWish, Cerical Cancer Aus, Heart Research Institute, Green Cross etc

It is legitimate and the bottom line is.. it is the best method to raise money for these charities...as thousands of people take entries into these raffles as their preferred means of helping.

Save more kids/animals lives and call people for fundraising VS more kids dying and not using the phones...   tough call?

Yes, calls over and over from 0281986598. I have an unlisted number, not Telstra, not Oputs and they can still do this??  And If they've got my silent number, what else have they got.

Oh dear, you so have blinkers on  - these 'w...k...s' have our personal details.  And I can verify this!  Wonder what colour these 'geezers' are - we will never know, and best we can do is stick together to get rid of these scamming and dangerous 'f...k...s'

Also called from this number but NEVER mentioned raffle tickets just said they would send an information pack about donating. Foolishly agreed and now I am being harassed to pay for the 'tickets' - lucky numbers on a pamphlet that contains very little information about what the PCYC does. (It does have information about what Bunnings, the Federal Government and celebrities are doing to help youth cleverly disguised in miniature print as possibly PCYC related.)

I also have an unlisted number. Needless to say I will not be paying for unsolicited tickets.

It's very easy to stop this organization from calling you. Call 1300 733 101 and tell the person answering the phone that you wish to be taken off their register. You should not have to inform them of anything except the phone number (not your name, or the charity because in many cases you wont even know who they're calling on behalf of) that you wish to have taken off their register. The 1300 just means that the call will not cost any more than a local call. Inform them that you are AWARE that it is an outgoing call center only, but that they are a nuisance and will be reported as such if they do not remove your number. If they question, say that you have received numerous calls from one or a few of their numbers and traced the numbers back to them through a web-search. Upon finding no other way of contacting them, you called the customer care center.
Its an annoying company, but the people who work there are just trying to earn a crust.

Is there a way to donate to these charities without having your phone number circulated to a separate company? I think that most people here are more annoyed by the fact that it is an outbound call-center only and that Insight doesn't leave voice messages. They have used up all the memory on my message bank numerous times by leaving blank three-minute messages. While I understand that this is an effective way of gaining support for charities, I think that their methods could easily change to make them less of a demon in the eyes of the public.

I have just sent a message to the company concerned and urge you to do the same. You are welcome to copy-paste this message or send one of your own. The email address is : info@insightccs.com.au

I have been subjected to calls from your service for over a month now. I have called your general information line and had both my home and mobile number removed from your register. While I don't doubt that your service allows many charities to garner useful funds, there are some things that you could easily do to improve your image to the general population.
    1) Leave messages: 'Hello, I am calling on behalf of (charity) to offer you the opportunity to (offer). I'm sorry to have missed you, but will endeavour to contact you again in the near future'.
    2) If you are determined NOT to leave messages, please hang up the phone when you reach voicemail. I have received no fewer than 5 three-minute blank voice messages from your lines which have meant that my inbox is full and I am unable to receive more messages.
    3) Make it easier to opt out of your 'service'. No one actually enjoys getting cold-calls from what amounts to telemarketers. It was only after searching that I was able to find a line I could actually CALL. The lady who answered was happy to question me, but very curt when I tried to ask her questions about the company and the charity who I was receiving calls on behalf of.
    4) Please check whocallsme.com and search for any of your out-going numbers. There are many members of the public who are annoyed at your company and the charities you represent SIMPLY because of the methods you employ to do business. You will see that MANY of the complaints could be resolved by either leaving messages or by making the service easier to opt out of.
    Thank you.

We too received a call from these people who didnt seem to answer when we picked up the phone and then my hubby just hung up.
I do give to charities sometimes the ones that are genuine and identify themselves straight away and usually can send supporting info in the mail! Dont give our your ccard details to anyone over the phone unless you are 100 percent sure it is legit! We are also on the Do Not Call register!

DEFINITELY NOT the best method to raise money for these charities. InSight gives the bare minimum to these charities (which by law is 20% of the profit AFTER overhead costs etc.). The other 80% goes straight into the owner's pocket. By the way, the owner drives a Ferrari.

INSIGHT ARE SCAMMERS! I get this info from a friend of mine who worked for them in Surry Hills for several months.  The workers there struggle to make raffle sales quotas that are set up by management. A typical scam that one worker found to meet his quota was changing the people's order once they got the credit card number. it would take place like this, " okay, so you'll take 5 raffle tickets for 20 bucks?"  "Yeah, that's right."  "Okay, that's 20 then?"  "yeah 20." (credit card is then charged the  price of 20 raffle tickets which is $100).

A person filed a complaint and the co-worker's scam was discovered. Management fired him to save face but a week later REHIRED him as team leader. The call centre staff there are predominately backpackers and overseas travellers that are drawn to casual work. The expendability of the calling staff is what allows upper management to make profits and buffer themselves from legal repercussions.

SIGN UP FOR THE DO NOT CALL REGISTER www.donotcall.gov.au ! afterward, if anyone calls to sell you raffle tickets - don't let them get away! Use whatever method you can to get company details so that you can file a complaint against them. One method is to play along and act like you want to buy. Get them to supply company details and when it comes time to pay for your order - supply them a made-up credit card number. when they try it and it doesn't work just say that was the only card you had. File a complaint to the AMCA thru the do-not-call register website. If proven guilty, these dodgy companies have to pay massive fines, which is the best way to ensure they won't make the same mistake.

Keep in mind that market research is exempt from do-not-call but they must be able to provide proof that their research is genuine. ask to know the company name and ask that they call you back in a week to give you sufficient time to verify that they're being straight-forward.

HEY MR "I KNOW IT ALL",
Read the following extract from the DNCR. You
dumb [***]. And that's to the rest of you misserable
[***]'s who I hope one day may need help from
a charity.....bit of luck, there won't be enough money to
save your animal, help your kid stay on the right track, or
provide the medical help you might need.

    2. Will registering my number stop all telemarketing calls and marketing faxes?
No, registration won't stop all calls and faxes. Some public interest organisations (e.g. charities, political parties and educational institutions) can still call numbers listed on the register. This ensures these organisations can continue to provide valuable services to the community.
If you have an existing relationship with a business, it can still contact you, but you can advise them you do not wish to receive telemarketing calls or marketing faxes from them in the future.

    Australia

Telemarketing in Australia is restricted by the Australian Federal Government and policed by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA). Australian Federal legislation provides for a restriction in calling hours for both Research and Marketing calls.[7]

In 2007 a Do Not Call Register was established for Australian inbound telephone numbers. The register allows a user to register private use telephone numbers. Australian Federal Legislation limits the types of marketing calls that can be made to these registered telephone numbers; however, research calls are allowed. Other exemptions include calls made by charities and political members, parties and candidates[8] however any organisation that is instructed by the recipient of a telemarketing call, not to call that number again, is legally obliged to comply, and must remove the phone number from the organisations calling list(s).

It's a legit business. I volunteer at a charitable organisation (which will remain unnamed) and the majority of our funds are raised through Insight. Insight CFS conduct fundraising for PCYC, RSPCA and other clients. These calls may be annoying but how do you think these charitable institutions raise sufficient funds? You don't have to donate/purchase raffle tickets if you don't want to but it is rude to tell others not to respond merely because you are not willing to spare some change for those in need.

I don't think so replies to Daniel
Insight is a simple beast. Like all call centre's.

70 cents in each dollar you send goes to the call centre. NO charity that Insight calls for has their foundation sustained through their fundraising. The money Insight raises for charities is a tiny fraction of where the charity gets this money from.

Maybe the possible exception being the Kidzwish foundation, but these days they have plenty of corporate backing.

HRI - Heart research Foundation for example get upwards of 40 million a year from government funding, insight might make for them $200,000. a year.

Money raised for RSPCA and PCYC is a small fraction of the total funding they get.

So the person who said the majority of their funds are raised through Insight is a lie, how do I know this because I know Insight, and that statement is a false, the person is most likely a telemarketer.

Just because you run a raffle and make $400,000 dollars. remember the charity get about 30%, if that of the amount, the rest goes to the call centre to pay the bill and the agents.

Once again, how do I know this, I know insight and I worked in the industry for 10 plus years, not as a telemarketing but as manager.

It's the job for managers and supervisor to tell agents one thing about the importance of what they are doing than what is actually reality. It's a sales job.

You want to know why charities don't complain, it's because raising fund for these people costs them nothing other than the telemarketing company using their name to make money.

For charities it's money for Jam.

As for some of the language being used, well that is typical of the people that work in these call centre's. Most are young and stupid, and just want to muck around.

One only has to look at the history of the owner to know how the company was founded and how it's gone about making it's money.

Mr Simon Quinn had now turned his hand to B2B and has been given old donor data from the QLD PCYC....the only problem is Mr Quinns team leader is sitting down surfing the net all day while his/her    agents are calling business's that have been regular supporters of the PCYC and pushing them to pay by credit card and giving no other alternative method of payments! Mr Quinn if you are going to run a B2B campaign at least show the business's some respect and hire a professional to run the campaign!

Mr Simon Quinn went on record with the Daily Telegraph stating that he is concerned that charities are targeting the elderly and vulnerable...I have heard of one case where one of his agents bullied an elderly lady into giving banking details over the phone after her family had taken away her credit card.

The facts are this(we can disregard the insight cohorts who reply to this thread with their filthy words...which only goes to demonstrate the caliber of Insight agents and team leaders):

Insight raises a lot of money for charity

Insight employs a lot of Australians(not backpackers)

Mr Simon Quinn still does not understand despite having an economics degree that you should be treating his customers with respect and they will be loyal.

The charities should realise that this company is giving them a very bad name in the community

Simon Quinn and Insight update.... Insight now has a new manager, ironically this manager himself at one stage was sacked from Insight for fraudulent sales! There are more than one case in this company of someone in management being sacked for fraudulent dealings with the public and then being rehired which shows the caliber of the employees!

Insight CFS raise a lot of money for charity;however some of their agents are pressured so hard to gain credit card payments that they bully little old ladies into providing card details against their will.

Simon Quinn is aware of this practice and actively encourages it. Many families have removed credit cards from the elderly to prevent the Insight CFS agents from  getting these details, however agents are encouraged to then harass the elderly person to provide bank details in order to gain a direct debit transaction.

Simon Quinn promotes the most ruthless of agents and demotes the most human of agents.

Hello, I would like to help.

InsightCFS is a call centre that raises funds for several Australian Charities. Please be assured that calls from this number are legitimate and fundraising is done with the charities consent. All call lists used by InsightCFS are Privacy Compliant. As insight calls on behalf of Australian Charities call lists are not based of the "Do Not Call Register" as charities are exempt.

If you are receiving calls from InsightCFS, and you wish to be removed from our calling lists please call our customer service team on 1300 365 896 between 9am & 5pm Monday to Friday. If we are unavailable please leave a message with your phone number and we will remove it the next business day.
When contacting us, please have handy any and all numbers you would like removed including mobile, work and personal numbers even if you have not yet received calls on this number. That way, we can ensure that you are not bothered in future.

InsightCFS is not the only company doing charity fundraising calling so if you receive any calls from other companies that you do not want to receive we recommend that you ask the telemarketer who called you to ask their supervisor to remove you from all of their calling lists.

We apologise for any inconvenience receiving telemarketing calls may cause you, and hope that you understand that telemarketing raffles provide a huge boost in funds for our charity clients.

Thank you for reading through this message.

Just watched the program on Today Tonight, I have always bought raffle tickets of the RSPCA and now I have found out that only forty percent  is sent to the charity, never had a caller as rude as the one I saw on Television however still will never buy from them again. The manager or owner or whoever the guy was that was interviewed looks like he can not be trusted.
