That number rang me this morn... woke me up.. gah.. and didnt leave a message. annoys me because im trying to land an apprenticeship and many other jobs and was hoping that it might have been one of them.

they  have attempted to call my house phone 4 times in the last 2 hours, twice i picked up (as i have no caller id) and they hung up immediately, so figured if they called again i would ignore it and check the last missed call, as i was googling the number the phone rang again, just ignored it. its becoming ridiculous, the number appeared on my mobile a few times, but as i dont subscribe to anything and i dont know anyone in the (02) area, i just assumed it was a wrong number.

I have two numbers - 02 80881400 and 02 81986598  - it is Insight calling on behalf of RSPCA because I was stupid enough to donate years ago. They ring every day at the same time for weeks, and then stop for a week, and then try again at a new time. I told them no i would not be dontating but they keep calling. My friend answered once when i was driving and they hung up on her so now when they ring i just answer the call and leave it sitting on my bench.

One day I might talk to them and give them a piece of my mind. At the moment though i am content with not talking to them.

Register on the do not call database.

If you notify them you are registered on it and they keep calling then you can get the DNC to issue a complaint on them.

I called telstra and they said that number is a commercial calling centre and they call on behalf for other people but because they are not the charity themself they are not exempt to call people on the DNC database.

The only people who are exempt to call people on the DNC database are actual charities, people doing surveys and political parties i think.

I have informed them several times I am on the do not call register and they still insist on calling me. Today I have made contact with them via email to have myself removed from their calling list otherwise I will seek legal action on the grounds of harassment and under section 23 'Civil Penalties' of the Do Not Call Register Act 2006.

Everyone who still receives calls from them despite informing them not to I urge you to do the same as me. The more complaints filed through the DNC website then they may end up in court for breaching the DNC Register Act 2006.

i kept getting these calls too, it's for an Australian company called "Insight Call Centre Services" which provides an inbound service i.e. they have Australian based call centres and are given permission by various, legally recognised charities to contact the public requesting donations to them. They have other arms of the business as well. I still have issues about handing my credit details over to people - I prefer to donate money direct to the charity, you can usually find their preferred methods of donating on their respective websites ... i find that safer.

I just answered a call on my mobile from someone claiming to be from the pcyc selling raffle tickets. I told him I don't buy anything over the phone. I asked how he got my number (it's unlisted) and he told me it was generated by computer. He sounded a bit dodgy and I am wary of scams so politely ended the call.

I received about an hour ago saying that they were selling PCYC raffle tickets.  Unfortunately I don't have caller ID and I am in QLD.  They did not say whether it was any particular PCYC.

When I asked if I could by the raffle tickets from Police Station or a PCYC club, they said "no unfortunately this is only on offer over the phone."

According to my flat mates they may have tried to call at least three other times today.  Bit sus.

I got a call from this Number and I did not pick up. I am not sure about this Number. I don't even bother to call them back, if this is call important, they will leave voice message.

I also got a call from these people.The volume of unsolicited calls is getting worse. I report every one of them but haven't seen any news of these companies being fined, or other action taken!

Just seen Kathy's comment and I have just had a call from "Jordan" at the PCYC too. Sounded very dodgy.I'm going to call our police office and ask if they actually have any youth clubs and whether they authorise these calls.

I've been getting calls from 02 8988 7427.  This has only started recently.  The only thing I can gather is that it has something to do with donations I recently made after the bushfires.

It is Insight call centre. They are a genuine business collecting money and selling raffle tickets over the phone for charities such as RSPCA, cervical cancer institute etc.

Over the last few weeks, I have had missed calls from 02 8198 6598 on my home line when I am at work. I have also received calls from the same number to my work number.  When I pick up no-one appears to be there.  Seems very dodgy!!!

I get missed calls on my landline (no message left)from this number about 1-4 times a week.
Today at 3:01pm it was from 0281986598
But then at 6:15 the caller ID showed the number as 061 281986598 - perhaps calling from outside Australia?

No message received but star 10 #

Sounded like some random guy saying he was from the PCYC, but called asking for someone else first, and then tried to get me to buy some tickets.

Just got a call from them as well.  Didn't pick up, let the machine annoy them!  

So much for the "do not call" register!!!

gave the 1300 number a call to remove from list. now am worried the 1300 number might be the scam itself (ie $9.95 a minute type [***])
