its too odd, its likely if any of you are on workers comp or got child support issues, they might be tracking your mobile via that number using gprs.

Had 8 missed calls from this number, and just keep ignoring them. I have account with Virgin too. Thanks for the info everyone!

Im having the exact same issue today... its freaking annoying...

They said they were from Virgin. Asked for my full name 'for security reasons'. I said 'no'. Then came the "if there's anything we can help you with etc etc". Didn't even ask why I wouldn't give my name. Why would they even ask that if they were only seeing if I was pleased with their service - they have my name and address. Very, very strange call.

After a missed call from https://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/0297610088, I decided to answer this one.

I was with iSIM, which merged with Virgin Mobile and is closing soon on 15 July 2010. The iSIM website has an offer to move to Virgin Bean Counter pre-paid, which was the purpose of this call. Always wise to be cautious with unsolicited calls but I wasn't asked for any personal information and the call was not suspicious based on what is happening with the merging of iSIM and Virgin.

The telemarketer gave me the Bean Counter pitch but I explained I'd already found a better alternative and that was the end of that.

They have called me many times in the past week.
I wish they would leave a message.

Called me, there was silence on the other end. I hung up.... very annoying and I'll report it given that this is not an isolated incident it seems.

I got it this 3:30pm. No voice on the other end. I got one a few weeks ago. I was with iSIM and now virgin.

just got a call and when i said hello, no one replied

Got a call from this # this afternoon. She said it is from virgin mobile, wanted to check whether everything is set up ok, then ask me about my personal details. Make me so uncomfortable!!!

wow i cant beleive how much of a nuicance this is to everyone!! they keep calling me too. I hope they are not charging me for these nuicance calls!! i am with virgin, so it must be them since it is the same for other virgin users...

They did it again today... so bloody annoying...

Missed a call from them. Possible it is Virgin because every time I e-mail them they refer me on & on & on but never answer my questions. So maybe this was what the call was about. Would be nice if they let it ring more than once.

I was called by this # again today, this time they left a message:

<beeps> "Hello? Hello? Hello?"
then 2+ minutes of silence.

I didn't bother listening to more, just deleted the thing.

Just received a reply email from Virgin as to this number.

I'm with Optus. Heh he, they (virgin) left no message. My phone has no credit so they can call as many times as they want. Once I put more credit in it and they still harass me I will sick the TIO on them for unsolicited harassment. I've never given them this number to call me on. They have no right to harass me. I'm on the do not call register.

I also got a call from this number, i am a virgin mobile customer. normally if they want to communicate they will text. i was at work and dont have time for that stuff.

cant believe many are experiencing the same problem, they called me at 7am today and my bub woke up!! putting my phone on silence from now on!

Virgin mobile loyalty division calling from offshore. No message, rude and unhelpful. Try and get you to stay with virgin but don't offer any services. I think they don't like responding in writing to anything so give you unhelpful advice with no back up

Never had any marketing call, until this week. About 4 calls so far....rang them back from a work phone. the message is: 'you have reached Virgin Mobile, Sim Plus Mobile and MA Telecom. If you wish to speak to Virgn Mobile ... bla bla bla'.

Surprisingly yesterday i also got a text from Virgin about barring premium SMS & MMS services .... will have to look it all up.
