Received a missed call from this number.... when I called back, it was engaged and rejected my call.

It could be Virgin Mobile customer support??

I also got a call from this number. When I rang it back it was engaged.
I am also with virgin mobile!?!?

Finally answered this call.  It is in fact virgin mobile ringing to try to get you off your current plan.  I'm on the bundled $100/month for 3G broadband with separate $500 value month phone service.  They are currently trying to get people off these plans and move people to new plans that are more expensive.

Seriously, virgin mobile are a complete joke.  Every aspect of their service from the coverage, reliability and customer service is all s#&$.  A few years ago when I moved to them they were ahead of other providers in cost, but now the other providers have caught up.  At least they don't leave you waiting on the phone for an hour before hanging up.

ah there wqe go thanks guy you have answerd everything i wanted to know got a missed call while i was on my other phone and when i rang back it rejected my call and said not allowed... i am with virgin and it is the worse thing i have eva done but my phone is locked to them and i tryed getting it unlocked and they said my phone needed to be more than 6 years old god can anyone help me out with that lol cheers james

I've got 3 missed calls from this number and 0290281914 in the past 4 days. It has never happened to me before and I am also a virgin mobile customer ( maybe not for long now!). I ve just called back on 0297610088 and got a Virgin answering machine. I agree with "payback", it's probably a marketing thing going on ( i have been on prepaid for the last 6 years) but still, do they really have the right to harass us like that? I am gonna wait for the next call and tell them off!

Yes, I answered the call from 0297610088 this afternoon, the guy told me my current telephone company has been integrated which didn't. I don't know why they rang me.

I have been called three times in the last hour. I have tried to call it back but the line is busy. Not happy...woke my baby up!

But is it _really_ virgin? You're only taking their word for it.

They rang me (to apparently check my account was setup okay) and I told them I was unwilling to give that information over the phone as I could not identify them.

Yep, I'm with virgin too and I'm getting calls from this number and 0290281914, i had a total of 9 missed calls from them yesterday -its bordering on harrassment!

Received five missed calls from this number today, no answer. I've also been getting multiple missed calls from 9028 1914, which is apparently Virgin Mobile. Might be related?

Just had a missed call from this number, even though my number is registered with https://www.donotcall.gov.au/

They rang twice earlier today, i missed those calls, however i just recieved the third call. It was from  Virgin mobile, however i wasnt comfortable with providing them with my personal information becasue I wasn't 100% sure if they were with Virgin. I told them that i was happy with my service, but did not provide any of my personal details other than my full name. I also said that if i had any questions about my account or wanted to change anything i would contact Virgin my self.

Just had a missed call from 02 9761 0088 and they left a message for about 30+ seconds with nothing but background noise. I had a call from 02 9028 1914 yesterday and I answered but there was no one on the line speaking to me so I hung up. I am also a virgin mobile customer and my 24 month contract runs out in 2 weeks.

I don't think there is much of a coincidence here.
