Apparently it's spam. This number keeps calling me many many time, it never leave a message. I call back, the machine answering saying it's about citibank insurance. Sometimes, when I answer the call, no one is speaking. I just want to find a way to block this number!

Same here, they call at least once a day, sometimes twice. Haven't heard a voice yet but it's just plain annoying.

Same thing - called then they hung up when I answered. I'm wondering if it is possible that it is an OS call Centre routing through a Sydney number. I will never speak to off shore call centres (who ever they are and for what ever they want). If we want the centres back here we need to stop talking to the OS ones; no one wants their personal details going to who knows where (this is another way our details are given to third parties to call). Does the person on this number have an accent?

Yep. Just got a call from this number, too. It was definitely an auto dial as it connected after I finished saying hello and I had to say hello and repeat my name again. They said "Hello, Jus, this is" and hung up. Glad to know it's a hoax because I won't answer again.

Scam Call using predictive dialer. Same as 0291911620.
They call and hang up so that they don't wear the call costs to a mobile, you ring back and they get to spam you for free.

To clarify, the calls you’ve been receiving from these numbers are genuine and they are from Citibank. We may have called you from our centre in Sydney to tell you about an insurance offer and to see if you are interested in taking up that offer.

As background, we were having a technical issue which was causing the hang up scenario you’ve described – we’ve fixed that now.  We have procedures in place to ensure that we only call people we are allowed to. If you are one of our customers and no longer want to receive these types of calls, please let us know by calling 13 24 84 and together we can amend your details.  We have also changed the answering machine message you hear when you call one of the numbers we use to make outbound calls. It now  includes more information and clarifies that you’ve been called by Citibank regarding an insurance offer, giving you the option to leave us a message for a return call.

Still getting called twice a day here - do we believe that this is citibank?

Is anybody else getting calls from a private number in the same fashion?? This number used to call me three times a day and a similar number before that and a number from melbourne and also india before that. The way i stopped these calls was by removing my sim card and turning my phone off for 48hrs. After that i never had a call from them again. :)

I got three calls today. If I get another one I'm calling the Police.

I too have been receiving calls from this number for several days now - 5 in total thus far.  All hang up when the phone is answered.  Last Friday night it rang me twice - after midnight!  Very unimpressed as you can imagine.

Yes I do get call from this number and convince me to get a life insurance. They also offer me voucher for $200.

Just had this number ring me with the same result as those above. Didi a Google search on the number and found my way here. Had spoken with Citibank yesterday so this probably explains it.

My partner keeps getting calls from this number at rediculous times of day and night. They never reply when she answers. I am considering submitting a full report to the police hoping they can find this menace. She too was a citibank client, not any more since this latest of many breaches of privacy.
