So much for having fixed the problem as posted by Citibank on 3/11/2011, still hands up when I attempt to answer.

this number has rung me a few times in the past 2 weeks and hung up after I answered. Tonight they rang and asked if was "catherine" my proper name that is on my card.
After googling andf seeing these posts about the same number...I rang my credit card company citibank ...went thru transactions and there was an illegal paypal transaction that I didnt make - card now cancelled... BEWARE this number!

Just got a call in Brisbane from them, but they hung up without saying anything after about a second.

It is Citibank and they call me everyday, anyone kn ow how to stop it (apart from calling and complaining)?

They call everyone three times per day since this Monday. I decline their calls and they keep on calling. It's definitely stalking no matter who they are.  I cancelled my Citibank account ages ago....

This is a phone attempt at the many scam eMails you are getting now with their customary zip attachment, headed 'Hello Dear'.
Trace it back and the chances are high it'll be out of Malaysia or Kumasi, Ghana where scamming is up there with oil as export earners.

It's an autodialer, so doesn't leave voicemail and takes a while for humam response when you do answer.

This number keeps calling me.  Calls at dinner time, and late afternoon.  They don't leave a message.  Citibank associate seems plausable as the caller.
I'm even on a do not call register!!!

I am fairly sure this is Citibank. I was on the phone to them on Monday and was advised I would be contacted in the next few days regarding insurance. I was called yesterday and just now by this number but when I answer it hangs up. Probably an issue with telecommunications because although it is a nsw number, citibank call centres are offshore.

I have been recieving these calls for about a week now, twice today, never a voice mail. I just rang citibank as I have an account with them and after also finding this website by searching this number in google I tried to report it (when I rang the number it went to a recorded citibank message, not very professonial for a multinational orgonisation). I think the phonecall went offshore and the citibank lady said that it was strange that they were ringing savings account holders but she would stop them ringing me upon request, we will see.... Also as a word of warning if you type citibank into google the first highlighted search is 'citibank.com.au/myway' it shows very little information and the websites security certificate comes up as a warning, some things just dont seem right.....

i am with 3 and getting call from  02-9191-1653. just wondering are they calling just 3 customer all any one else as well.

Just called Citibank Philippines call centre 02.8225.0163 to be told that

belongs to a third party sub contracted by Citibank to try to extort money out of us in this GFC via insurance, something which a bank was never set up to do.
Obviously the good folk at 02.9191 lack social skills, and should be sacked.
Go ahead and tell the media about this, and let's end this sort of intrusion.
