I get many phone calls through the day. from random numbers.. this one being another. I always Google the numbers, and the first link is pretty much always this website. WhoCallsMe

I find I can tell when a phone call is spam/seller/researcher/ or what ever. and that is when you first pick up the receiver (assuming phone calls are to land-lines) there is always a short pause before the person on the other end talks. as if the line is not immediately connected, I am not sure.

I know when I get this pause literally when I pick up the phone, to just hang the phone up straight away.

Accept I don't do this. I get about a lot of random phone calls a day on my land-line. And ALL of them are of this nature. So rather than get annoyed and angry, I instead like to get my own back. when they ask for Mr Shaw, I say "yes, certainly I'll go get him for you" to which I put the phone on the side and carry on about my business, remembering 10 minutes or so later to hang the phone back up.

I have copied this post. And will proceed to post this with every new number I get that leads me to this website.

It isn't Virgin or BT, as I am with Sky, unless it is all of them. I she been having this number call
Me for months, I either just let it ring, or pick it up but don't speak, then you get left alone for awhile.
But hey! they started again today.

I have just arrived home and I received a call from 0301, who are they???? Asking for me by name, although that was badly mis-spoken, I told them that no one lived here by that name, and they hung up. Why do these stupid cold callers waste mine and everyone else's time and patience.

Got three of these calls today and it's only 12 o'clock.  No one speaks but you can hear noises in the background.  I am also registered with TPS but sure I heard that it only works if the firm is phoning from the uk not abroad.  I want these calls to stop, how do I do it

I am getting regular calls from this number . I do not know what they are selling because I will not talk to them , I block their calls but frequently have to unblock them when my memory is full on my phone .

I am a skytalk customer and i am receiving these calls on a daily basis sometimes 2 or 3 although mine are silent calls which concerned me and prompted me to look online for any info on them and i found this page,I have found out now what the calls are about and will not give any details if they ever talk and i will put the phone down and let them talk to themselves,thanks to all using this page for helping me.

this number keeps calling, asian person trying to speak english, time waster!!!

this number has called 5 times this evening and i would like it to stop,i have young children and do not need the phone ringing every 5 mins when they are trying to sleep

got a call from this number a woman said that she was from windows and wanted to help me to get rid of a virus that was attacking my computer she wanted me to log in so that she could guide me through the problem

This is nothing to do with any phone line supplier. It is an internet phone number used by and indian call centre and it is a scam. Though, one would have thought in this day and age your provider would be able block calls such as this which are quite obviously illegal. Guess they want even more money to do so.

Indi/stani sounding male voice - called himself 'John Williams' - reads good already doesn't it! Told me he works for 'the credit investigation department' when I asked him what company he told me 'government department' after laughing down the phone at him and him speaking in a foreign language to his colleague / accomplice / imaginary friend.... I asked him if he'd like my bank and card details including my PIN numbers. I decided he wasn't being much fun from then on so terminated the call. Wife says she's had a few very similar sounding calls. 1471 revealed no number. Next time I've decided to appear helpful and just supply him with false details including a false name and see where this nonsense leads.

Sick of these wierd number calls.  The government stick their noses into our business so why can't they stick their noses into this annoying practice and get it stopped

Over this weekend alone I've had about 6 calls a day, maybe even more, from this number and a number that comes up as '0'. They left a voice mail once which was just mumbling noise. My dad initially picked up a call and said the same now they call none stop. If you get a call from this number don't pick up you'll get harassed at all hours.

Had a call from 0301 @ 18.20 hours. No one on the line - engaged tone! This number, calls on average 4
times a week on and off over several years. By this I mean we may not have a call for a few months then they start again. As your other e-mailers state it can be any time of day (the latest one was 20.20hrs.) When someone is at the other side - they are asking me to buy protection for Windows or to replace my kitchen. Lately there have been a lot of recorded sales messages and as in this case silence. It would be good if they stopped.

Called by this number this evening. I said "Hello" but received no response; the caller ended the all at this point. There were background voices which could have been live or from a tv.

same indan guy different name called him self Alburt same [***] as the other comments just want to let you know this [***] is still alive and for some reason he likes to repeat him self! Just started getting the 0301 number - calls up everyday at noon but I refuse to pick it up.  What is happening now though is that the first number 0301 rings and because I don't answer it, it switches directly to another number 00221 and then it rings as an international number.  I'm really fed up with this.  What can I do to stop these calls from happening?  Not sure where they got our number from either.
