- again replies to Innocentsame call today at 2pm. after noticing his broken malay language, u can know this is a prank call. wonder why police still couldn't do anything about this issue since it happened for a quite a few months already. such a shame their line being compromised this long.
- victimi also got a call from them this afternoon from Chong, saying whether i know the names of the 2 guys & whether i can speak in mandarin language. Luckily i told him that i can't speak in mandarin language & he directly hang off the phone.
- LimI got this call at 12pm today (14-11-2011), the [***] claimed he was from Bukit Aman Police Station and asked if I knew the 2 guys mentioned above. He was really obnoxious and tried to pressure me to cooperate. He said I had a CitiBank account, which I don't have. However, he knew my full name, IC and Ambank account number. The odd thing is, the number appearing on my phone IS the Bukit Aman number. He tried to interrogate me why the supposed criminals had my details when I claimed I don't know them. My husband suspects they have obtained a user base list from the banks, possibly from an inside job and have set up a premium account telephone number in Hong Kong. If you then call that number, it will cost you a small fortune and they cream off the profits.
Please pass this scam alert onto other people, hopefully no one will become a victim.
Cheers.- Caller: Bukit Aman

- CY| 1 replyi received a call from this number just an hour ago from inspector Ismail (this is the hp number he gave me 0169468513). Same story, asked me if I know these 2 person named, Lam Hong Heng & Yap Kin Hong. I said no. He said I have an account setup in Citibank Hkg and has been transferring $$$ into these 2 person account in Malaysia. He even verified my full name, IC number and my previous employment direct line number. He said I need to see him with my passport and ALL my bank account books by tomorrow, otherwise all my bank account will be frozen, as I'm suspected to be involved in money laundering. He told me to call Inspector Loh Kyong in HKG (0085254854193) to explain this matter. I keep asking for explanation as my BM was not great, and he gets really frustrated with me and read the numbers very very fast!!
Well. I was worried of course, so I called my lawyer to seek advise. She told me firstly, it may not be genuine as they can't just freeze bank accounts with just a phone call from a police station. SO she told me to call my banks just to understand the formality of freezing accounts. And HSBC said they will not freeze accounts without first informing the client formally, either by writing or by phone calls, and it only happen after further investigation. Then I googled the number 22662222 and found this website. It's to my relief to learn about this scam. Thanks all for sharing.- Call type: Prank

- Nimo replies to Mira| 3 repliesi also received the call from this number 0060322662222 yesterday (30 nov) at 1241 pm, also chinese man and spoke in malay. He introduced his name as Insp. Lim calling from bukit aman. He asked me to verify the number by asking me to call TM helpline 103, after that he asked if i know the guy named as azmi osman who was involved in money laundering. The inspector said that guy had used my ic number to open ambank acc. in batu pahat and already made a transcation from 50k++ to 70++ in a day. He started to record my words and other details from me. He asked me to find a quite place that no one can hear to the conversation because it will disturb the recording process. And i heard sound like toot (recording started ..maybe).He force me if not to tell the thruth, if not,i will be charge under money laundering act. He also said that my acc will be freeze by kementerian kewangan shortly and i will be receive a call from kementerian guys. Lastly he asked me not to talk or contact anybody not even my wife while the investigation take place within 3 days. He said will contact me later.

- Lost replies to nimoReceived a similar call this morning from 03-2266 2222. Caller identified himself as some inspector from Bkt Aman Police HQ wanting to question me about a case involving the 2 chinese individuals. As he was just rambling along quickly in BM and then Mandarin, I told him I don't understand a word he is saying. He got offended, swore and hung up. A waste I didn't get the chance to return the courtesy. Do be careful when getting a call like this.
