I called Maybank's Customer Service at 1300 88 6688 upon receiving phone call from a lady named Nina through my fixed line, requesting for copies of my latest payslips and informing me about the new Bank Negara rule.  I was told to fax them to 03-79538615.  The customer service exec confirmed that the request is genuine.  I was also told that alternatively, if I'm uncomfortable sending my payslip by fax, I may email engagement.card@maybank.com.my.

This phone number called me and turned to be a miss call.
I called back and was asked to provide my IC number.
With that, he immidiately spell out my name and tell me the same story.

its true there's a department who make call to the maybank's credit card holder..they will ask for ur payslip to update the record since BNM has come out with new credit card guideline.those who earned 3k or less per month can hold credit card from 2 BANKS only not 2 CREDIT CARD...their office is situated at Menara Etiqa jln Melaka and its on level 9.

IMPORTANT: Maybank will NOT request anything via call, sms or email.

I faced the same as well... I gave her my personal email address.... is that okay that i gave her email address?

As long as you know this is fraud and don't provide her further details should be safe, I think.
Beware some of the comments here are fraud too.....

I just received a call from this number. I told her that i m driving, she said she will call me at 2pm today (5/10/2011). But i decided i will not pick up the phone......

I receive a call on the same matter this morning. It was regarding my hubby's Credit Card. Cik Fiza called based on the information with Maybank which records my mobile phone No. She confirms that they are sending the official letter to the cardholder when I ask her about it. Winter's important message is right; Maybank will NOT request anything via call, sms or email.  Think I would email the payslip only after I receive their official letter.

3.25pm: One lady call my office reception to double confirm my name.

3.30pm: One lady call at my colleague ext no.... Maybank Card Center...my colleague ask her to call back since i was engaged.

3.30pm-4.20pm: Nobody call me.

Received call frm this number today (18 Oct 2011), same as mentioned earlier. Curious about their request and asking for my current credit card account details. Yes, she can answer me correctly.
She asked me to go to nearest Maybank branch to confirm and ask their officer to fax my payslip on behalf.

A girl named Farah called me with this number : 0327720300 today morning, also asking me to update my income by email them my payslip to engagement.card@maybank.com.my, it doesn't make sense to me so i decided to search online about this matter, from here looks like some said it is valid, some said it is a fraud. So it is better to call Maybank directly...

it is real after i confirm with maybank call center. any doubt just call the number behind your card.

yes, it's real..I just the letter from maybank..it is Maybank Card Centre..i did kol them and its valid. btw they don't kol me pun, I kol them to verify.

I also get a call yesterday from 0327720300, who claim calling from Maybank, asking for my payslip yesterday.

I also got same call..and i already emailed my payslip.. but if fraud, they can do nothin with my payslip pon. hope everything will be okay.
