Got a text telling me to call 03456052324 with fraud code C1. - I called them and they asked for my sort code and account number, I didn't give it. I hung up and I rang the HSBC general number instead. They confirmed that there was nothing wrong with my account and had no idea why I had the text - so watch out for fake texts!

As others text from hsbc with this number - called & they asked me for info & dudbt agree, so called number on back of card, put through to fraud dept & was because an attempt I made for a small & legit transaction was blocked as there was a mismatch of info - picked up quickly which was good & good things are flagged so quickly.

I received a text from this number with the D1 reference, but called the number on the back of my card to contact HSBC instead of the number in the text.  Turns out my card had been used fraudulently, so they cancelled it immediately.

I got the same text and called to the number on my card.Yes, it is a real fraud prevention team number, as I was told, and I was told that my card details were used on Paypal to buy some holiday in USA and they stopped this transaction. Good job.

There is nothing was wrong with account either when I looked into it, because they stopped the transaction and I didn't`t loose the money. However, the fraud team told me that someone used my card for a fraud and they stopped my card. Guessing, the same was happened to you. So, it was a genuine text.

Just received a text entitled "HSBCFraud" stating "Please urgently call Fraud Prevention on 03456052324 from UK or intl +441226322011 24x7 quoting c1. This is not a marketing text. Do not reply by SMS.".
Went to HSBC website and dialed a number from their Security page http://www.hsbc.co.uk/1/2/contact-and-support ... eport-a-problem.
When I eventually got through I was told (by offshore call centre) that this was a genuine number & a fraudulent purchase had been attempted on my card!

had a text from this number this morning. Apparently my card details had been used in Jamaica of all places! A bit annoyed that i'm "cardless" for at least 5 days but at least I know HSBC is being vigilant with my money.

Also got this text message. As with others was suspicious and phoned HSBC from number on the back of the card. They confirmed that there was a query on one of my cards.
So all legitimate, but I really think HSBC should phone direct rather than use this method of contact – it immediately makes people suspicious.

Got a text from this number, called HSBC directly and was transferred to the fraud unit where it was confirmed that someone tried using a card (probably cloned) for a transaction with Playstation , Luckily, it was declined as they couldn't verify the card. Thanks everyone for the thread
