I am receiving daily (sometimes every 2nd day) a call on my mobile with no-one at the other end - I am not answering them anymore.  My husband rang the number & a male with a Jaymaycan type accent answered saying it was Optus.  When my husband queried why he was calling he wanted my mobile number - he was told to stop bothing people (not as nice as that).  My husband called Optus and they said it is not an Optus number and would look into the number.  If anyone else gets these calls please make a complaint to Optus as they said they would keep a record of any complaints.

So annoying! For the past week I keep getting calls from this person! I've only answered once and no response!

I have had heaps of calls from this guy and theres about 20 missed calls on my phone now, he just doesnt give up no matter that i have told him a few times i am not interested in his calls ever so how do you tell him to go away?

I have just got another call - 2nd today.  I am not answering hoping whoever it is will get tired of no answer.  I have gone to Optus website & typed in 'nuisance calls' and it says (amongst other info) if you receive 3 or more unwanted calls over 2 to 5 day period - you need to be able to give exact times & dates -they will investigate.  (Don't know how successful this would be - my husband suggested I should answer but say nothing, leave the phone on so it will cost whoever it is & whilst I can't make a call, more importantly the other person can't).

I've also been getting calls from this number over the last few weeks. Every time I answer they hang up. Getting 2 calls a day sometimes. He spoke to me last week saying he was from Optus but because I was driving at the time he said he would ring back. I'm sure he said his name was Paul. There is another number similar to this that rings as well. I will put in a complaint to Optus.

I just had an online chat with Optus. They called the number and got an answering machine and he said it was a ponsey scheme. He said it was fraudulent, but couldn't help me. I told him to check this forum.  I'm not sure what else to do.

I reported this number to Optus and they said they couldn't help me. I also did an online complaint to Optus and they have come back saying they apologise for any inconvenience and have put my number on an Optus opt out list so I won't get any more calls. To me they are acknowledging it is Optus calling?

I had a call from this number.
They already knew my full name (but asked if I had a middle name), and my address. He said he wanted to offer me a discount on my mobile for being a "valued customer" and also offer me an IPad 4.
He stated that he could see that I had 2 mobile services with Optus (which is correct) and he needed to send me terms and conditions for the iPad to review. I was ok with this so gave him my email address. He then asked for my licence number for delivery of the iPad. I advised that I wasn't comfortable giving this information over the phone.  He said he would call back in 15 minutes after I read the terms and conditions. . I got a call back in 5 minutes. I didn't answer, and no message was left. And I'm still waiting for this email.
So to me, this definitely sounds like a scam.
I'll be calling Optus in the morning to check my account, and to lodge a complaint, as I am concerned how this person has my personal details.

Got a call from this number and as soon as i answer they hang up! Its an annoying occurrence!

yep, i just got the call..so random, so weird..and it was one of those listens to me till i say 'hello' and leaves..

Yep I just got one too.  Really annoying and incredibly dodgy... I hope optus/police/SOMEONE can do something about this.

I just found a missed call from this number... I called back and I heard music and then a woman answered stating she was from Optus. I hung up without saying anything thinking that the music sounded weird as I have been on the phone many times with optus!! I called back again out of curiosity.. Spoke with "Domenic" who claimed to be from optus, he knew my full name which is concerning. What other details do these people have??

Got called by this number on my Optus mobile on 8/02/13 at 4:26pm but I didn't answer, I declined the call.

I have now had 2 calls from this number, one missed, one hung up. Seems dodgy to me too. Add me to the list of folks who would like someone (police etc.) to follow these clowns up...

this number keeps calling me, but I won't answer cause I don't know it, they never leave a message

I have a phone call from this number about every 2 days and as soon as i pick up it hans up. pretty annoying!
