I too have recently started getting calls from this number. Thank you to all who have posted information on who they are, I shall continue to ignore them.

I just received a call from this number and there were people laughing in the background so I looked up the number and came across here.

I too keep getting calls from this number. Haven't picked up but now i'm a little scared too from some of the comments. they call me at least twice a day. It's driving me nuts.

Just had that number so glad i looked this up thanks heaps for every ones help!! Trying to get into our details NOT COOL

This may sound ridiculous, but, you all realise that we are all Optus customers and that's why we're being called.  

The way to stop the calls is to tell Optus is take you off of their telemarketing lists.  I did this a month ago after finding this forum and haven't heard from them since.

been getting daily calls from this number and wont pick it up. frikkin annoying!

had 2 calls from 0399377700, said they were calling on behalf of optus, sounded very dodgy, background noise and crap didnt sound like it was optus...

I've been getting missed calls from this number everyday for almost a month now. So glad now I haven't been able to pick up. Thanks guys!

I've had 2 calls every day this week from this number.  I posted here a while ago, then it stopped... but that was short lived.  I've just been hanging up on the calls (they call straight back) but I do wish they would just lose my number.

I had calls from this number about 6 months ago but ignored them, and looked it up online to find this site. Now they are calling again, with two calls again today, which of course I ignored. I wonder if I should maybe answer the call next time and have a bit of fun with them?? "Hello? Yes I am from Virgin and I would like to sign YOU up for a 6 month plan..." or something similar. See how long they stay on the line.

i have had two calls from this number today and numerous other times, so annoying!

Missed one call today at 12:30pm.
Googled it, and now glad I did.

This is rediculous!
As soon as I saw the Number I knew straight away it was not a Residential Number. Who the **** do they think they are???
This is insanity in what Business like Optus, Telstra, 3 & Vodafone are doing. They are multi-million dollar businesses from us customer's and they have the f****** nerve to treat us customer's as shortcut to something that is technically illegal. I say we should stop paying our bills (joke) tahahaha, that will screw them!

I just received a call from this number and the caller hung up as soon as I answered.  I checked the number on the web and found this site so figured I'd add my call here as well.

I'm so worried now. I've received a call from them too. They called my exact full-name and then...they also hung up on me(but I thought I was because of bad signal). So, I called them back. I can't know if I will lose anything important for that???? Any idea? Please let me know !!! Thank you.

It all traces back to a company called Hadlee Investments. Here's where the company responsible is located:

You'll notice that you either have a phone with optus or have bought an optus "item" and had to leave your details. They called and actually left a message the first time regarding the phone that I bought for my hubby (OPTUS). SO I know without any doubt that OPTUS have leaked my number. It's a shame I do not have the message anymore, so I can post it on utube to shame them for doing this. Since then it's on my "never answer" list.

OMG How the hell did they get my number - they have started calling me for the last few weeks, and when i called them back its that oceanic company that does marketing for optus and stuff - this is so stupid! Just be warned ppl, they obviously dont like call back if they are generating a machine to answer our calls - how important are we!!!!
