Funeral Insurance call - I answer and advise them that "this is a business line and sales calls are not accepted on this number" they assure me its not a sales call .... and then try to sell me funeral insurance :-(
So far requests not to be contacted again have failed.

Calls come from an off-shore outsourcer in South Africa by the name of Lifestyle Survey.
They represent a company called Insurance Line/Life(?), their head office is located in Sydney, Australia.
Reason for their call is to create leads for life insurance quotes (for Insurance Line). Based on ASIC legislation, they cannot provide advice or recommendations, hence they start the call with 'this is not a sales call'. Well duh, it's because you legally can't sell without an ASIC licence!
I asked where they got my details from and they spelt out a company called 'Huloust'.

I hope somehow this can be of use to everyone. My advice to you to stop the calls = pick up the call and tell them you're not interested. If not, they'll keep calling you.

Yes agree guys just block the number.
Don't know how it works on other mobiles but my iphone I select block presto no more calls.

They called me a lot last year (2013) but stopped close to the end of the year, they have now started again..
God help me..

Foreign accented person calling about Insurance Line- he referred to their ads on TV etc.
Said he wasn't trying to sell anything but started talking about their new funeral insurance product- so clearly trying to sell something!

I just get a phone call from (08) 8120 2910. Does anyone know who it is.

I got a call from the number (08) 8120 2910 yesterday and today from the 03999... number.. Must be related. I will answer next time and ask for their credit card number instead for a change..

Just wanted to thank everyone for posting here.  Missed a call from this number.. i google everything I don't recognise now... and the link to here popped up.   I really appreciate the time everyone took to post, it saved me from worrying I could have missed something important.

Frustrating - keep getting calls from this number; no one speaks when I answer. There are more and more calls of this nature these days. Maybe everyone should find a real number for these companies and do the same thing to them!

Got an unsolicited call from this number. I do not reply to unknown numbers by principle.

Called me, I called back, he picked up, Indian guy with NOT UNDERSTANDABLE accent, and he hung up on me :/

One call and the line was crap. They hung up. Googled the number and found this site. Used call block on my phone.

Live in Adelaide- did not pick up and no message was left!

They told me i am recieving funeral pay out for my partner passing, i told them i dont have funeral insurance so thats a load of bull n they hung up on me

Call me far too many times &. Hang up. Just phoned now. Message "Just Gonna" then hang up!

i recognised a voice- by any chance is everyone an Optus customer??
