I got this exact email last night! I gave it to my boyfriend to read because I thought it sounded fishy but he was like sounds okay has their full name but I was very uneasy about it.

Just got one this morning, too good to be true.

marycole1@outlook.com wants to buy my motorcycle too.  Wow, that girl wants everything on gumtree !!  
Gotta love sites like this.  Lefe's too short to be dealing with scammers.

got the same message from Mary wanting to buy my van
real con artist by the looks of things she has tried this with many people

got the good old marycole1@outlook.com, gunna regret contacting me!! haha...

Got SMS from 0428465117 from Rosemary Brown replying to my gumtree ad. Reported the number.

Just got an sms from this number listed above then got an email from marycole1@outlook.com
saying she worked offshore and wanted to buy my caravan that wasnt listed anymore and wanted to pay by paypal and get a courier to pick it up and sign the papers over to them
my mobile  number isnt listed with the advertisement so i dont know how they got it
the advertisement is no longer current either .

yep, had the same problem with marycole1 stating he/she/it wants me to pay for her freight as she has left $750 for me to pay freight with what looked like at first to be genuine, then I noticed a few things. always good to sleep on these things. cheers.W4E

yeah good, the waste of space called marycole1 has been reported to paypal.I told paypal to put in bold block letters on their homepage ( we don't deal with freight and do  not hold monies on behalf of anyone for freight period) otherwise its a scam.Would like to join in on a concerted effort with other people to find this leech and see them put in gaol or better still send the barsted bankrupt with evidence of fraud. steve.

yep exactly the same as what the dog tried on me. Isnt there some way to be able to find where this person is living.Anyone got any ideas. steve

contacted me regarding a car for sale wanted to know the firm price and just wanted to buy it, wanted me to email denismacus@gmail.com

recieved text from this number and he gave me the email address marcinbrow12@yahoo.co.uk.
seemed genuine asked for pictures etc of vehicle and lowest price as wanted it for when he got back from working on the rig
glad i looked the number up as all seemed too good to be true.
also said he would pay via paypal or if unavailable direct into my bank.
glad i didnt give any details after reading this!
i also advertised my car for sale via gumtree

First time user of Gumtree and friend advised me it is ok, received a message on mobile from this number with please reply to fubuoliver345@gmail.com advising us he was on a ship. sounded really good at first until he asked us to pay freight of $950 up front, got suspicious and looked up the number and found it to be a SCAM.

Didn't want to sell my car so put it up for a joke price (several times more than it's worth) to shut people up. This guy emailed me from marcinbrow12@gmail.com, works on a off-shore oil rig, wants to do it by courier... sound familiar? :P

GOT THIS FROM A MARK LEE....ITS A RESPONSE RELATING TO A GUMTREE AD

SURELY IF IT HAS BEEN GOING ON THIS LONG HE/SHE MUST BE ABLE TO BE FOUND, CAUGHT AND PROSECUTED!

don't really have much time on here.If you don't have a paypal
account, you can easily set up one...log on to www.paypal.com.au and
sign up its very easy... i would have loved to talk to you on phone
but i work mainly on the sea and our phone network is down on the sea
right now due to bad stormy weather,await your reply asap.

got a text to email deniskennet@gmail.com regarding my car for sale on boostcruising.com. He was telling me he was out at sea and he needed my bank details so he can transfer money into my account and will give me 300 just to delete the post I had of my car.

Yep, pretty predicable... got a text in response to my sons advert on Gumtree - motorbike for sale.  Tossers... called himself Mitchell Morrison and used a btopenworld.com email address...

I received a similar message from the same email. I reported him to the relevant people.
What a waste of space!

I received an sms which asked about a car I was selling on Ebay, asked for asking price and other details, then said he could not respond via sms, (even though he had just sent an sms), and gave this email address: billowen@hotmail.com.au. Something just seemed off so I "googled" the email and found this site. Shows it pays to trust those "gut feelings".

I got a text this morning from this mobile number. The guy calls himself Mitchell Morrison and has email of mitchellmorrison@outlook.com.au.
I sent an email but knew it was a scam as soon as I got the reply asking for a final price of the car.
I also got a text the other day but it was from a weird 5 digit number from a "Scott Salter" email s.r.salter@aol.com.
I strung him along for a bit but knew it was a scam.
I am getting very sick of these.  Somebody please catch these d***heads and stop the time wasting and also save some poor person who actually may be sucked in by these crooks.
