Hello. We were scammed originally (not understanding how it all worked and thankfully the bank refunded) when we first had an ad up for a motorbike, by a BENJIMAN PRESTON of Darwin, and also had him call again the other evening trying another attempt (could be starting to trip over himself and his lies?!...) Now that we've placed the ad back onto Gumtree, we've receieved messages and emails from LISA PATRICK of Darwin, MITCHELL MORRISON of Alice Springs and MICHEAL CRAIG, nearly all from the same "117" mobile number. Have been to the police in regards to Benjiman Preston, and will be considering doing the same with these few messages we've recently received.

This prick has tyres to scam us with this tonight. The name was bill owen

I advertised a vehicle on Gumtree and had SMS from 0428465117, followed by email from paul benson [paulbenson888@gmail.com]. Obviously trying to scam me.

i recived the exact same msg as a reply to my add on gumtree

im currently going through the same thing with guy/girl who ever the hell it is. i knew it was a scam from the first email i recived. not to mention the sms i got at 4:30am

The same Paul benson bloke tried to scam me today. I went as far to make a pay pal account when selling my wheels. Something seemed off the same time. Especially when the first message said the person contacting me was Michael, but the email is from Paul benson. What must happen, is he changes he's name on gumtree but uses the same email

Calls, texts, emails I hate these people, s.r.Salter@aol.com and all the rest of you low life's that communicate via mobile 0428465117 gumtree scammers, I am so so sick of these idiots!!!! When are the authorities going to do something about them!!! Gumtree take action against them, they are ruining your business.

This guy has a bot trawling car and bike on-line classifieds. His scam is centred around getting you to call a fake paypal help line where he tries to get your paypal access details. best to block the number.

Yes, got an original SMS from +61 428465117 asking to communicate via matt.boyle232@gmail.com.

I confess I started to believingly correspond with this guy, however alarm bells along the way started to ring:

1. He wasnt going to inspect a 28K boat buying having picked up by courier.
2. The english and grammer was bad
3. He wouldnt call me and speak, or answer any direct questions I asked.
4. As soon as Western Union, Paypal and freight became part of the conversation
5. Asking for my money to be transferred to a Chinese bank account before release of full payment, sent the alarms bells into a siren frenzy.

This is thesecond scan, they say they want to buy your Motor Bike, they want you to pay the broker fees, and they will pay the full balance when the broker collects the bike, I want these scammers caught, my question is how do you catch them... I do have amobile number, and an email address

Got a msg from 0428 465 117 asking to buy a lounge off me as advertised on Seek, said name was Tim email directed to use was timvid86@gmail.com requesting my final price, but messaged me at 3:50am in the morning.

He tried to buy a car from me and claims he was working on a drill rig offshore at New Zealand. He emailed me with the  email: edwardkelvin77@yahoo.com

He sent me the same message, but it was for a $4.2k car. Was his email: edwardkelvin77@yahoo.com?

I got the same message from Ben Pitt today. I knew it was dodgy when he mentioned paying with Paypal because he was overseas. I replied with this;

Yes same happened to me with a lounge suite.Email from Mary Cole, works offshore, buying for her son, can't view, Paypal,Western Union etc. Glad I checked first.
