Similarly to everyone else who has posted here, this number has been calling me 2 or 3 times a day for the past week.  I have not answered the phone and there are no messages left.  If it is a TalkTalk marketing call as people have suggested, it may have something to do with the fact that I am shortly coming to the end of my current contract with TalkTalk.  I would imagine that this might also be the case for many of you who have received multiple calls - and that by offering and agreeing an upgrade or whatever, TalkTalk will be tying you and me into another lengthy contract that will be quite costly to break.  

As I am looking at changing providers I'm not going to be drawn into anything that will cost me to leave TalkTalk in the near future

I keep getting missed calls from these numbers at crazy times of day ...once being 0930hrs at the weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this number keeps phoning my home and hanging up when u answer it getting really anoying

Got home from a week away, 2 messages on the answerphone where they ask for me by name. 10 min later it rings again and they ask for me, but won't say which company is calling. Been with Talktalk for a couple of years, which seems to be a theme with this! Sounds suspicious to me.

Do not say a word; they are collecting voices;
they are making a voice recognition database,
and linking that voice with the land line,
then through that with your address, and so on.

Always answer the phone by not saying a word;
let them speak first, and if you know who they are then you can talk back.

I get a call of this number every weekday at around 12.30pm, but when i ring back its a dead number? Annoying!!

Had the call at 9:08am this morning - Saturday of all times and days to call. It'd cut off when I answered. We are also with Talk Talk. Absolutely ridiculous.

Missed call from this number again later in the day. Had a voicemail that sounded like an actual person but seemed to cut in part way through what he was saying. I seemed to just get the end about calling an 0800 number with name and number to be removed from the calling list. This leads me to wonder if it isn't Talk Talk after all. However, I won't be calling the number because that confirms my details to them. It's all very weird. TPS registered to boot. This caller needs to be stopped.

...Just remember another a call had few days back. They gave a name, asking for a person. I said who's calling and they just hung up.

Got this same number on my answerphone today (8/7/11) for first time. Have had similar calls in the past and they are an absolute pain in the posterior. We are with TalkTalk too and so if it is not them calling - then it looks like somebody's hacked into their Database. Keep calling TalkTalk to report this number and give them a lot of grief - they may do something about it but I wouldn't hold out a lot of hope on that front. We monitor all calls now and don't answer unless we know caller personally or are expecting a call from Company XYZ. God knows how many calls we'd get if we were listed in the Phone book - perhaps we are!! TalkTalk has a poor customer service record these days after it has taken over so many other companies to increase it's customer base. BT was bad enough but it's looking like fryingpan into fire as far as nuisance calls are

I'm with TT and just got a call also- Wife answered and tried to hand the phone over to me (was going to 'discuss' their ropey broadband), but they just hung up before I could speak.  Wishing I had never become involved in this company...

I have been called from this number. I tried to ring back on 0161 656 7957 but it was engaged. I rang early the folowing morning and got an answering machine with a message on from TalkTalk.

I had five missed calls from this number today alone. Probably adds up to about 18 in the last two weeks. I called Talk Talk after reading lots of people saying it's them......it's not I was told. It's a scam company trying to get your personal details from you.

yes they say they are from talktalk but don't be fooled as i rang talktalk up with the girls name and number to find out what they wanted and surprise surprise the number is not a talktalk sales or anything to do with talktalk so do what i did answer the phone and when they say they are from talktalk just hang up. or better still if you have caller display don't answer.

This number is from TalkTalk - marketing department I would say.  I had been getting regular calls from this number and these were intercepted by my answerphone - but never a message was left. I was sick of them as I was Ex-Directory and had asked to have such calls withheld when I signed-up for TalkTalk. Things went awry when I accepted a new deal from TalkTalk after my initial 18-month contract expired  (I did not leave TalkTalk at all but then only had an open-ended contract from which I could exit at any time). I signed up for another 2years and got a bit of a discount for a couple of months but unbeknown to me TalkTalk removed the No-Marketing Calls Ootion from the My Account page - check this out on your own pages too! I immediately reinstated the RED Xs in both opt-out boxes - but the calls kept coming. We were previously registered with TPS but did so again to try to stop these unwanted calls. Then I e-mailed TalkTalk wit my complaint about such calls from them. I pointed out al the facts an asked them to remove my details from all their marketing databases. This produced a fairly standard response - telling me to do all the thins I had already done previously. Then after more silent-calls from the same number, I sent talktalk a stronger-worded letter and things got a bit more notice their end. Finally, after yet another phone call I wrote a polite but fairly angry-toned email to them and said that if the call didn't stop I would be writing to the Chairman of the Company with my complaint. THIS IS WHAT YOU MUST THREATEN TO DO TO GET A GOOD RESONSE!! I am now keeping my fingers crossed after they promised to remove my details from their database.
