    FRAUD COMMITED this person threatended me with debt collecters at my door the following day if i did not pay for somthing I had never even agreed or purchased. My wife was so scared about people coming to the door in front of our 4 year old she begged i just paid the money and we would chase up the company to get our money back.

    This man if you can call him a man ( i am not allowed to use bad language on here, i will leave that to your imagination) hid behind his phone, wouldnt provide us with any information with regards to the money in order for us to make steps in getting it back, we now believe he is a dirty out and out scum of the earth scammer he calls himself DAVE from PH SERVICES and will tell you to contact the ADVERTISING PROTECTION AGENCY. HE WILL ASK YOU TO PAY MONEY INTO A LLOYDS BANK ACCOUNT (CASH ONLY I MAY ADD)

    DONT PART WITH A PENNY HE IS A LIAR, SEEK LEGAL ADVICE.

    An innocent person
    I also received a phone call from this guy (calls himself Dave Talbot) from P H Services. Says he is a debt collector. He is chasing £194.35 that I was suppose to have paid a marketing company last October called Media Solutions.

    I have not used such a company and having seen the blog above, can see that this person is trying it on again. Will be contacting th police.

    I received a telephone call this morning from this guy, David Talbot. Says he's a Debt collector from P.H. Services. Claims we owe £194.35 to a web design company called Media Solutions. If we didn't pay within 24hrs the bill would be £374.72!
    When I asked him for a reference invoice number to cross check he couldn't give me one.
    We checked our records - never used this company.
    I called him back to let him know - his reaction on the phone made me suspicous.
    I've contacted the Police and Trading Standards and since reading the above blogs it confirms this guy is a scammer.
    If this guy contacts you don't part with any money. Report it to the police.

    i also had this phone call for the same amount, for the same company, from the same man.

    I had used a media company is Lancashire recently but was so worried about the debt that i paid it by CHAPS into a lloyds tsb account, then tried to find out if i was in debt to this media company.  They confirmed that all my payments were up to date and they had never heard of this P H Services.  This guy knows all the legal jargon that he spouts down the phone and intimidates you into fearing a court appearance!

I went to the bank to ask who the account holder was but they said to write a letter to PH services and they would post it to the address they had on their system. they would not provide me with the address as it was data protected. Still waiting for a reply from PH services do not have much hope. Whent back to the bank recently but all they said was inform the police.

    I had the pleasure of a phone call from PH services yesterday claiming to be a debt collector who was chasing a payment of £195.34 that i owed a company called media solutions. When i asked him for some details of his company, he put the phone down on me. I actually had someone claiming to be media solutions ring me on the 7th Dec 2010 saying 'thank you for supporting the drug awareness campaign and that my advert will appear shortly in their publication'. I told them i hadn't agreed to anything and they said they had a CD of our phone conversation and would send it along with the invoice. Nothing arrived (surprise surprise) and the i get a call from PH services. They must be working together.

    TAPA = SCAM
    THE ADVERTISING PROTECTION AGENCY, TAPA is a scam, I worked for them for spell, what a shambles,  we called businesses claiming that we could protect them from companies who call you for debts, at a cost of course. The thing is TAPA is linked to many of these companes who call you in the first place, The owner, who i shall not name owns 4 advertising companies all of which hound people for money, and thats where the spin off TAPA comes in to save the day, yeah right. If you say no to TAPA they then put you details on to more charity database, so more people call you for money.They need to be stopped,

    TAPA = SCAM

    DO NOT TRUST THE ADVERTISEING PROTECTION AGENCY

    Pete D & Colin O,

    Are you able to assist with any further information as to the whereabouts and actual names associated with TAPA?

    I am in the process of tearing these little scoundrels to shreds & have a huge amount of tip offs but the more the merrier! Give them their due it's clever what they've done & to the untrained eye they are untraceable but it's handy having friends in the telecoms industry who have located them to within a certain area so now I just need confirmation etc

    Hell I've been burnt by TAPA too.  And only just come to realise it!!

    On 1st March I had a cold call from someone called Keith Chadwick at Safety First purporting to be selling advertising space in a Road Safety booklet going to all the schools in the UK.  I told him I wanted to see all the info in writing before committing to anything (never had any intention of parting with my money on it - had all the "business directory" calls in the past!).  Chadwick, if that was his name, tried to get me to part with card details for a 10% discount.  No chance.  Anyway couple of days later an invoice for £118 drops through my door from Safety First with a very amateur covering letter thanking me for contributing.

    Armed with this jumped onto google and found the TAPA website.  Went in and saw they list Safety First as a potential scam company.  Having gone through all the info on their site I contacted them for help and got all the spiel about these bogus charity agencies and how they will serve summons if not paid and use doctored phone call recordings to evidence you entering into a verbal contract.  So, I bought into it and signed up.  Duly received their welcome pack which is, like their website, very comprehensive.  Included an invoice for the £81.60 set up fee and another for the £9.86 per month service contract for 12 months.

    The message is pretty strong and clear - if you get any more calls just tell them you are registered with TAPA and hang up - don't enter into any conversation because they will/can doctor the tape!  After any calls contact TAPA who will log complaints and put a stop to the calls.  Same with any post, send it on to TAPA and they will deal with it.  All sounds splendid.

    This morning I had a call from a with held number asking for me.  I asked who it was and got the "Keith Chadwick from Safety First", so I did my "I'm registered with TAPA" and hung up.  Immediate call back from Chadwick "Are you going to let me speak" - replied like a good boy "I'm registered with TAPA" and hung up.  It immediately rang again and I ignored it and called up TAPA.  Was answered on first ring by Patrick who is the person I've dealt with there, he took details and said TAPA would lodge three complaints against Safety First.

    I returned to the TAPA welcome letter which advises you to contact your phone company to activate the 'Choose to Refuse' system that allows you to block numbers even if they are withheld.  So I called Vodafone and it appears that can't be legally done in the UK, but they can via their nuisance calls bureau register the last number as such a call and on two further complaints about the same number have it blocked - Vodafone asked if I recognised a number ending in 817 which was the last call.  Nope, so he logged it for me. Phew what a pain.

    Next thing, and this is where it doesn't fit with the scenarios given already about TAPAs modus operandi is I get a text from Kevin Chadwick from 07548 729817, which reads: 'T a p a are a scam company. Put t a p a scam in google and see for yourself. If you are a member fool you ....  Please do not waste are (sic) time and resources again. Your order that you confirmed on the 1st March with ref ***** has been cancelled as it is clear you are not a man of your word. You have been black listed from any of our safety campaigns.  Good day ....'  Ok now this is getting daft so, into Google and here I am typing this.  It clearly suggests that Safety First and TAPA are not scamming together, which is kind of confusing.  What now?

    Do I forward the text from Safety First to TAPA?

    If I try to cancel the payments to TAPA what will be the knock on effects of that action?

    Help/advice please

    The numbers I have for TAPA are 07715 104931, which is Patrick.
