We have had the same experience. We agreed over the phone to take Tradesman Tracker out for one year in Jan 2012, but were dubious and asked at the time when we could cancel. We were told we could phone to cancel from November 2012, which we did and followed this up with a letter sent to the address we had for them of Industry Apps UK, Docklands Bus Centre, Isle of Dogs, London, E14 8PX. They took no money in January 2013, or Jan 2014 and we received no letters, phone calls or emails from them (even though they made it clear that we would receive an email two days before any renewal payment was due) so stupidly assumed it was all cancelled.
Then at the beginning of April 2014, we had a phone call saying we owe them for two years payments!
We reminded then that we had cancelled this....and have today received a payment demand in the form of a letter threatening us with court if we do not pay.
We are waiting to hear back from Trading Standards and are going to report it to action fraud.

Would love to hear from anyone else who is having the same problems.

We have had the same phone calls from mobile numbers firstly nicely nicely then getting demanding for payment or court action, I said bring it on I don't give a crap.

Not received a letter as yet, a legit company would not be calling on bank holiday weekend would they?

We all seem to be telling the same story so if it ever went to court surely they would realise its a scam.

phew not just me.  received another letter this morning 'notice of intention to issue a default county court summons' in 7 days!!  after the last letter i did write back saying i have reported to action fraud and that i am disputing etc.  which obviously they are ignoring and  like others i have had no communication by letter email or otherwise since this whole farce has started.  on todays letter it brings us invoice numbers etc and amounts which again is a first I've seen.  not sure where to go with this now....no way am i paying though.   Although i am the  'debtor' but actually i am only an employee of the company anyway, so I'm sure if legit it wouldn't be me they are chasing anyway.

Glad I'm not the only one having trouble with Tradesman Tracker, I had a phone call yesterday (on a Saturday!!) from a mobile phone number stating I owed them £178 + vat. Told me they have being trying to collect the money since September 2013 and have "sent" me 5 emails which I stated I hadn't received.
He told me it was my word against his that I hadn't received/read them and that he had proof that they had been sent and if it went to court a judge would not take that excuse as a get out of not paying.

I asked Why has it taken them 9 months to actually call me chasing such payment? Surely a legitimate company would be on the phone straight away if payment hadn't been received in September?
He replied with that they had sent me emails chasing payment and it was my responsibility to make sure payment was made!!!

I pointed out to him in the terms & conditions

"20. Failure to receive payment will result in the Services offered by the Service Provider being suspended until the arrears are cleared."

If that was the case, then from September 2013 my advert would not have been live on their app service, so they want me to pay for a service they hadn't being providing for the last 9 months??

    I don't think so!!

I was on the phone for about 20 minutes and every time I said I was refusing to pay he always respond with the threat of court action and what the judge would say or how he would see it. Also how much the debt would escalate with all the fees added on to it and how much I would have to pay in the end, which I simply replied with every time  "that's if you win the case".

I told him to phone me back on Monday afternoon so I can speak to my solicitor on Monday morning (as he doesn't work weekends). We'll see if he does.

    Hello

We have also had the same problem as everyone else with Tradesman Tracker. The numbers we have received abusive calls from are 07860 928222 and 07860 928223. We are in the same boat as everyone else and had the 1st call on the 29th April threatening us with court action. 10 minutes later he sent us an invoice via Paypal which was addressed to a email rather than a actual address which is a legal requirement. We then received another phone call yesterday (Saturday 10th May even though they say they work Monday to Friday 9-5.30 on their website) again giving the abuse.

The invoice we have also received has a VAT number for The Advertising Protection Agency. If you read the disclaimer, terms of service etc at bottom of site they are word for word the same as this company which also seems to be dodgy. We are not even listed on their website so there is no way we are paying for anything like others who have not been contact or sent late payment reminders etc since we paid in 2012.

As he hung up the phone after being rude he said well this recording (he was on mobile phone) will be used as evidence when he submits the court case. This was at the end of the conversation just before he hung up on us lol but never mentioned the calls were recorded at start of the conversation again which is illegal.

We have sent them a letter asking for proof of invoices as if genuine would need to keep these for 7 years, copies of all documents etc and they just said the letter would be with their admin department.

I am going tomorrow call the ASA and trading standards also the police due to threatening phone calls.

If you do receive any paperwork for the courts there will be a reference number and a phone number which you can all to find out if it is a real case. I think that they are just photo shopping a court paper and adding the details to it for their benefit but all court papers will also be stamped!. I would phone the police if the courts says its not real as this is illegal.

We will not be paying this invoice especially as Paypal have confirmed to me that there has been no other information sent to me either registered to my phone number or email account.

Good luck everyone lets fight them together and not be brought down by them.

Please let me know if you receive anything else from this company.

I have received a letter through the post on Friday 16th May demanding payment of £417.60 and then listing underneath additional costs which include "late payment fee, debt recovery fee at 15%, solicitors filing fee! claim filing fee" to be added pre-court which pushes it up to £640.24 if payment wasn't made within 14 days. I've had another letter exactly the same today sent via recorded delivery.

They both look like they've just been printed out off a computer and not even on genuine letter headed paper which you would expect from a legitimate company.  There is no name at the bottom of the paper stating who exactly sent it or who you can talk to regarding these letters.

I wonder how far this company will go to extract money from us?????

We have had exactly the same letters one recorded and one 1st class. Seems they had a mass mailing day at the end of last week. No address or signature not even details of what the debt is for or even from. I have phoned the police and a Citizens Advice who are contacting Trading Standards about the company. The police have advised us if they continue to contact us on the phone they will start to investigate for harassment purposes. Yes we had yet another phone call last night. I have added all the numbers to the phone as contacts which have already been passed to the police once. I think if more people contact Citizens Advice about them as they are the ones who report to Trading Standards then they might get stopped.

My dad has advised us to pay the money even though they are crooks and this is a con because in their terms and conditions states it’s a rolling contract and your details can be removed due to system errors. They say it’s our job to keep an eye on the site and report any problems if noticed. He said that as its on their website could possibly stand up in court and they will just say we have sent it to you and went in to junk box etc. They will also just make up fake invoices and back date it all even if using PayPals free service. We really don’t want a CCJ as self employed and can’t afford the costs should it go to court via their debt collecting company. We will then be contacting PayPal to try to recover the costs due to fraud.

I have looked up the bloke Anthony Simister who is apparently the director of Tradesman Tracker and he is currently banned from trading as a Director until 2015 and the ban was for 9 years.

I am so angry how he can con people like this but that’s what he is relying on the small companies to fund his pocket.
They are SCUM the lot of them!

    How is everyone getting on.

If Simister is running the company then he is breaking the law I think. They are scum, parasites feeding off of people who do honest hard work. I've had three mobile numbers contact me recently all Tradesman Tracker, I save the numbers as new contacts entitles Do Not Answer!

If they were legit they would leave voice messages on your answerphone but they won't do that because then you have a voice recording that they left voluntarily of them plying their con.

Don't pay and keep in touch

    Hi Jeff

We are still getting phonecalls from this company. They are now using a variety of different numbers 07860930798 / 07860928223 / 07860928222 / 07808646577 and also withheld numbers.

I have reported them to the police and also trading standards. Trading standards have advised that they are a scam but cant track them down as their address in London is just a forwarding address which someone then goes in and collects the post which is sent somewhere else then scanned and sent to the muppets if of any use.

We sent them 3 recorded letters non of which they acknologed or replied to. They just keep threatening with their phonecalls.

Did you pay them or ignore their threats for court action?

We were advised by the police who currently have a open account for harrassement to contact our service provider to get the numbers blocked. They cant do this and they say the only thing they can do is to change our number which we are not prepared to do as its used for work. The police have said to block all the numbers and do like add them so know who they are which we have done. Because of this they are now using the withheld numbers so both police and trading standards have advised to just hang up on thm and not make any conversation.

Please contact trading standards and register the issues with them as the more people they get contacting them then to more likely something will be done. They have apparently added this company to their internal records anyway so should be aware of the situation.

No I haven't paid them anything nor will I do so.

The last person I spoke to who was [***] about court action I just said 'look forward to seeing you in court' and put the phone down. Honestly, if it was possible to put your arm down the phone line I'd have strangled them by now.

They are cowards and prey on those who actually have a conscience. I hate the fact that there must be quite a few people who have paid and lost honestly and hard earned money.

I did contact Action fraud about this with all the info I had some time ago.

I would have thought it possible for the phones and numbers they use to be blocked or withdrawn by the relevant network providers (just a guess)

Jeff have you had any threats of court action since the first letter that said they were giving you 7 days?

We have today received another threatening email from them advising that they are giving us 7 days and will then be taking us to court.

To be honest the stress is not doing me any favours at the moment. We never had anything from them in the first place as per their terms and conditions so dont see why they should suddenly be contacting us again.

We have spoken to a solicitor and if they did take us to court it might be hard for us to win the case but would be down to the judge on the day. We have 18 pages of evidence to say that they are fraud and should not be trading. When they sent us a PayPal account invoice it had a VAT number for a different company which is unfortuantley one of theirs called the TPA.

SCUM SCUM FRAUD SCUM is all I can say and I hate the fact that like you say they prey on the innocent for their criminal activities.

Just ignore them and don't let it worry you. If you pick the phone up and they say it's Tradesman Tracker then just put the phone down straight away.

A legitimate company would not be calling from a whole bunch of different mobile numbers and certainly not on bank holidays and Sundays. They would also not be disappearing into the wild blue yonder when Trading Standards are trying to locate them.

Even if they were legitimate then they are in breach of their own terms and conditions by not making contact before each renewal (and there are a few of us all saying the same thing)
It's a double edged sword; they fleece us to join them and then get the publics info when they download the app and no doubt are probably running other scams off the back of this one.

Just say you look forward to seeing them in court and you'll let the judge decide.

They are bullies and threaten all sorts of stuff - just ignore them.
They are planning on you folding - don't do it!
    Good luck

So glad I am not the only one. I Initially received a call from a lady who casually asked for my card details so she could process the payment for my subscription to Tradesman Tracker. I had no idea what she was talking about and she hung up on me. For once, this parasite had called me on a mobile so I called her back and left a not so pleasant message on her voicemail. I was fuming that this parasite tried to con me out of my hard earned and then just hung up on me when I asked what she was talking about. I have since had at least 3 menacing calls from various different men, again on mobiles and again at bizarre times like on a Sunday afternoon. I have now received a very dodgy looking letter from debt guard (debt collection solicitors for business???!!) who have given me 7 days to pay. I too will be reporting these people to whichever authority I can because they are below scum. They told me that I had agreed to a 30 day free trial and that it was my responsibility to end the contract. They had also sent me a welcome pack and when I asked if they had sent it recorded delivery, they said no. I never received it because the whole sorry and stressful story has been made up. I will keep you all posted as I now know that I am not the only one getting harrassed by these criminals.

We were called today (Sunday) advising us that we owed nearly £300 as we hadn't cancelled our 'rolling contract' When asked why they hadn't contacted us we were told that they have sent emails and basically it's up to us to read them. When asked why they didn't follow up with letters or calls we were told that they don't send letters due to 'green' issues and that they have tried to call. (They may well have, we get inundated with nuisance calls and often just hang up). The caller advised that the cancellation policy it is in their T&Cs and kept threatening court action and escalating costs. We were then sent an email advising us that if we paid today this would cancel the contract and we would owe nothing else. My partner paid using his debit card. Personally, I would have asked for the original call recording for proof that we agreed to this, and for everything to be in writing but my partner didn't want the hassle. After doing a bit of research on Tradesman Tracker I found this site. I will be writing to Trading Standards about this company. I don't expect to recover our money I just hope that if enough people complain something will be done.

Its such a shame that you paid these criminals with a debit card. If you had paid by a credit card you would have been insurred and there would be a good chance you could get your money back. I hope the bank can help you get your money back.

I would advise you to contact trading standards and the police. The director of this company Anthony Simister (had several fraudulent companies) has been banned from trading for 9 years so he should not be opperating this company. Trading Standards have advised me that they are a scam company and it is now logged in their internal system. The problem them have is they cannot track them down becuase the company address in London is only a forwarding address to hide their identity. All post is collected taken somewhere else if of any use scanned and then sent on to someone in the Midlands somewhere.

Good luck with getting your money back from the bank. You could advise them that you paid this company as you were threatened as this is their thing they do and have since found out they are fraudulent and see how you get on.
