This is simply BT, normally calling you back to say your line is now working ok... no scam, no sales just BT

They left a voicemail for me and it was BT. It was a follow up courtesy call to confirm that my new line was working as i have just had it installed.

This number phones me about 30 times a day. I have just found out it is BT. All my bills are up to date and I've set up a direct debit for monthly payments and yet some department keeps phoning me to ask me to settle my bills. It's past the frustration stage now! I'm going to switch from BT because I've ended up hating them!

THIS IS A SCAM! Believe me. Most of the comments on here are probably by the scammers! I am a businessman and they have attempted twice to scam me. Somehow they have got hold of BT records. Come on we all know BT doesn't use American call centres. I actually asked them my account number and they didn't know. Then i asked them for 2 or 3 past bill amounts and they didn't know. My account is completely up to date and all they were advising it wasn't and wanted my credit card details. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION ABOUT YOU. This company have also been known to sell holiday homes and the like, where people get totally scammed. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!

this number is BT, the just called me in relation to my broadband not working, to letting me know that there is a problem with the exchange and engineers are working to get the problem fixed,

Make sure you are referring to the correct number. There are 2 very similar numbers that people appear to be writing or recording incorrectly in some cases causing confusion with the other:

This page refers to 0800 285085 - not sure what it is but appears not to be BT.
Please also look at 08000 258085 - which is a BT number for many purposes.

Caller dropped call after three rings.

called my orange PAYG mobile leaving a message , Message hard to understand as it was a thick african accent, all that i could make out was that  they said there was crackling  problem on my line, not to phone them they'd phone me !! dont have a bt line!! and dont hand out my mobile number/ so it must be some sort of scam.

My dad had a call today from this number. When he asked caller for a number he could ring back on he was told the caller didn't have a phone of his own (?) and he worked for BT. Yeah, right!
Don't know what he was trying to 'sell' but at least dad had enough sense not to give any info to him. Dad is now forewarned.

missed Call from this number today on my mobile. I do not have a BT account. No voicemail message left.

Several calls fro "BT" sounds like Peter Sellers asking me for my name"for the account"refused to give any details,and am waiting for more of the same.

Called today (Bank Holiday Monday) at 08.59 and I never answered.  Have these people nothing better to do with themselves?  There goes my lie-in.  Not happy...

There is only one good thing for these vile, foreign pieces of scum, and that's a noose!!

0800285085  This number has called me on several occasions, when first picking up the 'phone I said "Hello" the voice then said "This is BT" I just said "Hello" several times as if I could not hear them and put the 'phone back down again...."They are a pain in the  backside"

It's B.T. they've just rang to update me on something.

I got an automated call from this number saying I hadn't paid my bill and offering to let me pay by debit card "to avoid late payment charges or disruption of service". I'd never give such detail out to an incoming call and anyway, the cheque's in the post.
