I got a call from them - they left a message telling me to phone the number

Just had this call on our house phone which we don't use (it's a BT homehub internet thing with a phone) so I answered and a guy called Chris who sounded Irish started pressuring me immediately to tell him what network I was on, pay and go or contract, how much I spend a month, if I get any free minutes or texts etc..

I said I didn't want to disclose these details but he kept pressuring me. He went on to say about a deal of getting a free phone (Nokia 6100 slide, I think) delivered to me tomorrow and unlimited texts to any network and 100 any network messages for just £14.60 a month.

I said I wasn't interested and he said why not so I said it sounds too good to be true. He kept pressuring me by saying his manager will listen to the call after I've hung up as all calls are recorded for training purposes.

After the 7th or 8th time of saying "No I'm Not Interested" he again asked why apart from it being too good to be true so I said "I'm only 17 and don't want a contract thanks" and he replied, shocked, "You're only 17? You have to be 18 to have a contract anyway. Have a good day" and hung up.

What a pointless phonecall in my opinion.

**If you get one, just say you're not over 18 and they'll hang up and leave you alone for good! =]**

Got a call from this number at 2.30pm...have stored it in my phone as spam so I know not to answer it by accident.

just got a call from them. they didn't leave a message ... weird

I had a call y'day (07.07.09) at 16.31 from 0800 952 4854.
I have just (08.07.09 12.00) received a call from 0161 380 0141 which looks like it is the same people as mentioned in other comments.

I'm glad I read your comments on here, I know not to answer there calls!

I had lots of calls from LBM pretending to be orange.  I placed an order and have been over charged!  I only found out they were not orange when I phoned to complain about the overcharge and it is out of there hands. They were quite harassing with lots of phone calls.  Would def avoid!

Added them to my reject list after missing a call around lunch time, though I'm sure they used to use a different 0800 number, sounds pretty shady to me.

Just had a missed call from these people while I was at work, around 16:20. Added to my Scam/don't answer list.

thanks godness,I`ve found these comments! I received yesterday 2 calls from this number and again 20min ago! just not answered and hope they will stop calling me.

Caller claimed to be a department of Orange, and then proceeded to ask me which network I was on? Then... confused i said, well if you're from orange, you should know which network i'm on... they then asked if I was on contract or pay as you go, I said hold on a sec... are you from orange... he answered yes, i said well you should know my details. He said his department is not allowed to know for data protection reasons.
I said I have no time for a sales call, and hung up.
Very suspect though!!

Just had a call from this number who claim they were phoning from Orange. Well I think Orange is a crap network so I wasn't interested. The woman was quite insistent and wanted to ask me questions about my network. I told her I wasn't interested in answering any questions, she then used my name (don't know how she got that). Then I again said I didn't want to answer any questions so she hung up on me.

Just had a call around 11:24am from this number and i didnt pick up as 1. i didnt recognise it and 2. it was an 0800 number.
Who are they?!

Right.... I picked it up...
There was a constant noise in the background (probably to confuse) and therefore it didn't sound as if the person was actually sitting in the office. The guy had strong Scottish accent. He asked me straight away if I could answers couple of questions. Emmm: NO?!?
He was arguing he was from Orange but I don't believe that. I do not have any business relations with Orange anyway :).
When I asked him to remove my number from the database he anounced he hadn't have the authority and hung up on me. How very professional.

I know we all have to make a living and it might be difficult sometimes in the current job market situation but hey.... I just wished I was trated as a person not a number :)

A little update:

It's true that numbers 08009524854 and 0161 380 0141 are related and they are both LBM calling apparently on behalf of Orange (?!?!).
Talking to them is a waste of time frankly.
So if you fed up with their phone calls I recommend calling 08009524874 and follow up the instructions to remove your number from their data base. They promised it will be done in 3 to 5 working days.
Let's see what happens.

Keep on ringing me at 15:00 every single working day, have answered about 5 times and said no, but they wont stop phoning me. LBM

Kept getting call from this number so I rang it from work and it said it was LBM calling on behalf of Orange.
It advised me to call 08009524874 if I wanted to block the calls so I did and followed the instructions. Fingers crossed this actually works... if it doesn't, I'll be taking the matter to Ofcom!

You are all missing an opportunity here people. Answer the call then say you need to go and find a pen. Put your 'phone down and see how long it takes for them to hang up.
They'll soon stop bothering you.

Keep getting the call while I am at work 16:00-16:30 I have had three different numbers calling me  01613800118 11/08/09,yesterday 01613800168, and 08009524854 today, each time I have left it to ring as i am at work and they have left a blank messages. I tried to call the number from my house number yesterday and it advised it couldn't except incoming calls and the other was an answer machine which advised they are part of Orange and to press one if i would like a call back, I just hung up at this point. Its a bit worrying though as i dont know if any of you have heard but there is that number calling people and giving their mobile a virus that kills the phone, everyone is going to be getting a message from their provider soon to stop the virus? Maybe this is the virus line Uh Oh!!!

Just got a call. Didn't answer in time though, as phone was upstairs. But if I get a phone from them again.

I'm gunna say...oh so your from Orange. Hmm, well the number I've got calling me is suposadly the most hated company in the world, for spamming people with phone calls.

Then if they phone again, pen trick :)
