got a call from 08009752454 they left message on machine no words just the sound of an office in background twice today

Got a call from this number, like Peter, no words but general office sounds in the background.
Called then back, I got a message saying you were called by the Automobile Association and will try to call you again

Been getting repeated calls from this number also.  Today is the first time they have left a message and you hear office noises no one talking.  Very annoying.  Whoever it is please stop!

Sounds like the AA again. they have been calling me from various numbers on and off since I failed to renew my membership last year. They often leave an answer phone message with no talking, just office noise.

I'm sure this is against OFCOM rules...

I'm an ex-AA member (the "ex" largely because of their marketing behaviour).

They call me several times a week.
Often leave 'empty' answer phone messages.
I have contacted them and requested they remove my number from their marketing database.
...and still it continues.
Really hope OFCOM hit; and hit them them hard -  their behaviour is wholly unacceptable.

They keep calling since I got a quote for breakdown cover - their behaviour has made me decide to go elsewhere!!

Keep calling me after i loaned my phone to a guy on the motorway who broke down lol

However, if you do not wish to receive further calls from us, please dial the 0800 number back and follow the instructions and we will ensure that you are not called.

Quick way to deal with these people - just save them as 'Ignore 1' ...2,3,4 etc and....Ignore them

Not really a "quick way" as they'll still be calling and it's annoying!

Call and be charged 14p per minute?! NO.

In response to the post from the AA above, I did follow the instructions about not wanting to be called, dialled 3.  But still I am being called every other day.   It is a very good organization,admittedly, but now, after 22 years, I am changing. This is too much! They get a hefty subscription every year, and I insure with them too.    No more.  I refuse to be hassled like this.

To verify what Chris wrote, I too called the number back and followed the instructions to request that they do not call me, and months later I am still getting these calls on a semi-regular basis.

Clearly we have different understandings of what taking the OfCom regulations seriously means.

keep ignoring calls from this number. have now saved and blocked it. wish the government would stop random companies buying your details!!!!

three times a day, 6 days a week they call call trying to sell me insurance. have told them to stop calling,clearly they do not take any notice

i am with the AA for breakdown assistance through my bank account and have never asked for anything else regarding the AA. if i did want anything from the AA i would ring myself. i blocked the last number but, they are now ringing on a different AA number 0800. this is very annoying especially when trying to have a lie-in. go away AA and your heavy handed pestering!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm an Ex-AA member too and have had between 2 and 5 calls every single day for the last 2 months now. I've even saved the number in my phone as "Don't answer!". It's keeping some call centre monkey employed at the expense of other members. It's almost a game now, who'll crack first, will I answer one day or will they give up?!?!
I've also called the 0800 number to get removed from their call list & it doesn't work. I've cancelled my membership and direct debit because I'm that fed up with them.
