Call from the above number asking to talk to me by name. I asked who is calling and the answer was. ''If you are not gonna tell me who you are I'm not gonna tell you who the company is,'' and then he slammed down the phone - RUDE, RUDE RUDE. I would never, ever do anything with this kind of company - and in retalition am pulling my ISA out of their accounts. Hit me - I hit you harder

Had them ring me today SATURDAY!!!!! Message for the AA - I am registered for telephone preference service - I do not want calls from you on any day of the week.  I will not be renewing my insurance with you next year.  However you dress it up it is still a sales call and not the reason you have my phone number.  Stop now.  My next call will be to Ofocm.

This is a post to confirm that it is The AA calling.  We take the OfCom regulations very seriously, and operate within their guidelines. Customers have the opportunity to dial a freephone 0800 number if they wish to speak with a member of staff. The AA is committed to improving its services to its members and may call you following a vehicle breakdown, about your renewal or to keep you informed about the other products and services offered by the AA. However, if you do not wish to receive further calls from us, please dial the 0800 number back and follow the instructions and we will ensure that you are not called.

Why should I have to call the AA to get these junk calls stopped?

I am registered with the TPS and have not had any relationship with the AA for many years.  They called on a different to a number that I used in those days so they have not retrieved it from any records.

The number is not one that I use often so there is no legitimate way they could have got hold of the number, they must be dialling random numbers.

I don't answer junks calls anyway.

Yes but when you ring the number given you are left hanging on a walk through system for a long time and then it hangs up on you.

I've been getting calls on landline and mobile since I broke down - at least 3 times a day. Most of the time I don't bother answering but I did pick up the phone once and the guy was so unprofessional that I hung up on him in the end - something was obviously going on in the background, he kept breaking off from our conversation and all I could hear was laughter in the background, then he would come back and apologise. This happened several times, in the end I had enough and hung up, seriously doubting that it could be the AA behaving like that. Now I know it is, I am shocked, wouldn't expect that of a big company like that. They still keep ringing but now I'm reluctant to pick up again. If they want to check customer satisfaction, why not send a questionnaire in the post? Would be quicker, easier and probably cheaper. Or send an email questionnaire - surely they must realise that people hate being phoned like this?

    Dear AA

You keep repeating the same hackneyed lines but do not appear to read the thread or address the concerns of those posting.

TAKE THE HINT and stop cold-calling people, especially when they have repeatedly asked not to be called!!

Another annoying call.  Can't the government or BT do something these pests.  I no longer answer my phone, I rely on the answering machine, the thing is that if I recognize the number I have to ring them and my bill is going up.

I have downloaded a fantastic app, it list all the phone-calls that have been made, then it gives you the option of black listing it. So when people try to phone it cuts them off straight away, and informs you that they have tried to phone. but they can still leave a message if you have your voice mail on. Its on the Android and its called Call Control shows an icon of a blue shield with a red phone in the middle. Hope this helps. It also tells you if its a free number land line, mobile or shared cost same as link financial do.

I left the AA some years ago when it became obvious that their renewal fees were significantly higher than those offered to new customers. I matched their loyalty to my own. Now they call me and I politely told them to delete my number. Since then I've had three more calls, their callerID is now blocked. Is this taking "OfCom regulations very seriously, and operate within their guidelines"?  No it's evidently not. The post above from the AA is nonsense. And they know it.
