Rang tonight, 7.20pm so thats out of order to start with, don't answer majority of these calls as soon as I see the number on the display, as many are 'CHECKING THE LINE FOR ACTIVITY' so if you answer they will know its poss worth trying again and also pass your number on to yet more idiots, but it rang for ages, I thought, "persistent" then checked here and found the results - I have recently gave my number to Council about a dog nuisance, so I can only assume they passed my number on and got some sweets!

This is a company called Check Point Claims. 1 Glenfield Park Business Centre, Blackwater Road Blackburn. The director is Iqbal Hassim.

They purchase personal details from a company called Communication Avenue 1 Trentside Business Village Newark Notts. 08456447701

how do you "block" these numbers?

This number belongs to Checkpoint claims ltd blackburn and your numbers are being sold to them by Communications Avenue

Automated call received today.
Stated it is not a sales call but that their records show I worked in industry in a noisy environment.
I have never worked in industry or any noisy environment. I would like to see where they get their records.

Automated message advising they have information that I worked in a industry with a noisy background, press 5 to start your claim. I haven't worked in a noisy industry and I am registered with TPS!

Called again 8pm - way out of order - reported to ICO

this called me last evening.  I have added it to our ever growing number of blocked calls.

This number calls regularly, usually at meal times, what makes me really cross is that if it is from a company about hearing loss  my husband had problems a couple of years ago with one such company and they were very very rude when we didn't want to give details and until I got rude back, which not in my nature, they continued to call. We thought these calls had stopped but they have started to creep back again.....We are registered with the TPS but it doesn't seem to have any effect. I just feel so sorry for people who think they are a legitimate company and divulge their details to someone they shouldn't!.....

Recorded message saying we know you have worked in industry.  I put the phone down but got their number from phone.  I am also registered with Tps -seems like a waste of time as I am constantly getting these calls.

I've had calls from these people for some time now, but have never answered - and that is largely thanks to reading other people's comments on this forum and noting the number(s) when they come up on my phone display..You've created an excellent " village environment" on your site without our having to stand round the Maypole in freezing rain!

Said it was not a sales call but 'their info was that I had worked in a noisy environment'. Press 5 to continue etc. I pressed 5 and a human responded so I shouted that they were scammers .. Line went dead.

Their database shows that we still haven't claimed for working in a noisy environment. Does teaching really qualify? We would not dream of having anything to do with these nuisance callers.It was a recorded message. But where do they get our number from as we are TPS registered?

We had a call from this number at 7.30pm. We had to run in from the garden to answer the phone, worried that it might be an emergency with my aged mother. We don't answer calls from unrecognised numbers and this one didn't leave a message so we checked on this site.......

I normally leave these calls to ring off, but was persistent .  Answered.. Apparently I have worked in a noisy environment too. No I haven't ! Pressed '5' , waited for answer, then left them to talk to themselves.

Any calls that I now get that are unwanted, I report to the ICO as a nuisance call.

On answering I got a recorded message saying "our records show you have worked in a noisy environment". My advice is to just block it if you can. Nothing more than a sales pitch...

They are clearly lying as they cannot possibly have any such records because I have never worked in a noisy environment. Why do they think cold call is OK as long as they are not selling. ANY cold call is a nuisance!!'

Got a call from this number but as I've got them on blocked numbers on my Vanguard phone I never heard it. It has been a Godsend.
