Recently started getting calls from this number 4/5 times a day after cancelling my O2 Contract and going onto Pay As You Go.

It is Phones4u tapping for business.

Best way to deal with them, Say you are after a contract with them and all that jazz, then supply them with silly details, Name: Micky Mouse, Address: Disneyland, Paris. ETC...

Good way to waste their time as they have wasted mine.

have you signed your number up to the tps (telephone preference service) so you don't get junk calls?

keeps on gettin 2 or 3 calls a day from this number, so ive just answered it and it is from Phones 4 u ?? trying 2 get me 2 have a contract phone with them,

this number keeps calling me over and over , getting fed up with it.  If it is phones4u thenthey won't be getting me to get a phone from them they pester too much

ye they keep constantly phoning me too, i have emailed them back telling them to stop, but they keep doing it, so i have sent a nice abusive message to the company :)

been getting called 3 times a day for a few days now but they just hang up starting to really anoy me now, what they hiding?

Have started calling me also, if its phones4you, it'll be because my contract is due to run out, like Hell I'll be renewing since they haven't been very good at CS at all!

also got call from 08450268990... don't know who it is so looked it up.. and found this forum and a few others.. seems this is a very annoying call.

I've been getting calls from this no 5/6 times a day for last few weeks. I keep ignoring it and i'm v p***ed off with them (phones4u as i now know) for harrassing me like this same as they've done with the rest of you. I'm on O2 pay as you go.

I get the exact smae thing... they call 6/7 times a day when i answer just i just get noise then it cuts off :/ starting to wind me up now

i have a pay as you go phone and these people have called me twice ...it has taken money from my account and they have hung up.....i am seriously pi**ed off now.

I had 3 calls for this number as well. 08450268990. Everytime I picked the phone it hangs up.

This number has been calling me constantly, had two call in the last hour from them.  it is phones4u trying to offer a better deal.  told them i'm not interested but they still continue to ring constantly its beginning to get annoying now

I have received phones calls from this number quite regularly recently...knowing who it is I was decided to answer...when I picked up they just hung up...HOW RUDE :-D

I keep getting calls from this number on my mobile but it hangs up before I can answer, it just rings once or twice, I have,nt called it back in case its a scam collecting money from calls?

My son was called by this number today offering him a free mobile phone and sim card if he would top up £15 per month on 3. This included unlimited texts. Very convincing. He had provided his mobile number via a pop up add to win a flat screen Sony tv.
He then had to pass the phone to me to verify address etc as he was under the age of 18. The lovely Ziy (sic) then said to furtur verify my id she had to take £1 out of my bank account which would be refunded once we received the phone and sim card. Stupidly I provided her with my address, D.O.B & card details and only when she asked for the security number on the back of the card did I realise this could be a scam. I asked if this offer could be sent out in writing and of course it couldn't. I refused to give my security number and Ziy was very persistent in trying to trick it out of me but I refused. I asked if I could phone her back and she gave me a reference number, her direct number 0870 905 0416 and her managers name and phone number Jaspal Mahil 08000 (yes that is thousand not hundred I double checked with her) 725 855. She then insisted I rang her back within the hour - the flamin cheek!
I then Googled the number and came across this forum. I have a feeling it wouldn't have just been £1 that was removed from my account.
As a precation even though I didn't give my security code I have now stopped my card and ordered a new one.
I know this has been long but hope it saves somebody else making the same mistake - I was already aware of these sort of scams but fell for it hook line and sinker, it really was so convincing.

They have just phoned my son again! I told him to hang up on them, if they phone again I have told him to answer and place his mobile down on the table and walk away for half an hour or so!
I am fuming about this!

Yes. All correct. Drove me mad! I actually had a conversation with Phones 4 U - they rang trying to get me to change over to Orange. At the start I was considering it. I said I would have a think (ha ha as if they would let you do that!). The way they went I ended up cutting them off. I made the mistake of giving them my home number before I could wriggle out of their grasp (I am not gullible or unintelligent but they use tactics and you find it hard to get rid of them)) Therefore, straight afterwards they called my home number many times then my mobile, then my home number again then my mobile, then I switched my mobile off, then they still started again that evening when I turned it back on! Its disgusting. We should all write to Watchdog - Im being serious. Right now I have better things to do though - I have a newborn baby who I was carrying when they pestered me for over a week and finally gave up. They aren't going to gain customers this way, I will put them all off :)

Also Phones 4 U = 08450264628 - they tried many times.. grrr!

It's deffinetley Phones4u. I called back and it says 'You have been contacted by Phones4u,theres no need to call us as we will try and contact you again in the next few days'
