Scott and Co are the sheriff officers (they go to the sheriff court who authorise the summary warrant charges). They work on behalf of councils and some debt companies. I work for the council and I have heard of many people who have had wage and bank arrestments so they do have a lot of sway when it comes to getting their money back and they are enforcing a lot more now than a few years ago. At the end of the day, you owe the money so just arrange a payment plan (ie £5 a week) and they should stay off your back.

I can assure you, they have power. Wage and bank arrestments happen daily. Good luck running from them!

This number called me and when i picked up it started ringing them. Seems they want you to pay for them caĺling you too hahaha....[***] you scott and co you [***] [***].

Fair enough if you don't think you owe any money - take it up with the original company - but if you do own money, just have a chat with them.  I owed an insane amount in council tax which at the time I was just not earning enough to afford but too much to receive benefits.  I spoke to them and explained my situation non aggressively and they were really understanding, gave me a two month break to sort my finances and then arranged a payment plan with me which I can afford.  They also gave me advice about tax credits etc and now leave me alone,  I only came on here because they called as I forgot to pay yet this month.  They aren't interested in taking you to court or taking your home, just in getting the money you owe.  Scotland don't know how good they have it with Scott and Co - try dealing with bailiffs down in England and then whinge about 'harassment calls'.  Of course they expect you to pay for the calls, why on earth would they spend more money than they have to because you can't sort out your finances?

I keep receiving calls from this number it's not a number I know

I received a phone call from this number. It has called me atleast 6 times I. The last month.using my Mobil phone. And now I have found this. I get no answer. They js hang up.

Automated call says they are acting on behalf of clients, leaves voicemail asking you to call them on an Edinburgh 01314778923 which relates to Scott and Co. A debt collection agency. Ties in with earlier posts on this nunber
