Just had a call that fortunately I was not home for, but I now know who they are as they have called me before and been told I am not interested, I guess they must have exhausted the other 5 million businesses and are starting at the beginning again. Many have complained how they keep hanging up and I come to 3 possible answers regarding this: 1) They want us to ring back and pay for the sales call 2) Maybe this obviously aggressive organisation sets call quota that is too high for them and so they dont actually want too talk to you and only wants the call to show on the clock that counts how many calls they made or 3) they are fed up with 5 million rejections and dont want more by talking to people! Shame on Yahoo for not regulating them properly.

This is an Infoserve Call about Yahoo Local Listing. I signed up for 6 months for £150. Only got 2 new clients from the service. They called me to renew the service but i said i did not want to as i only got 2 client from the advert. Did not even get the money back i spend on the advert.

Anyway i ended up hanging up on the guy because he was going on and on about how good the service was. Something about the ad had sent loads on clients to my website. But it did not. They been calling me now for over a week around 6 times aday. I never answer the calls now. Only had 1 call today. Fingers crossed no more. :)

I was at a disabled friend's home for 9am as she has gone away on holiday, and I am caring for her pets. At 10 past 9 this number rang asking for 'Chris'. There is, and never has been, anyone here of that name. In addition my friend is registered on the TPS and has been for some considerable time. I then called the number to find out what it was and was told it is Infoserve selling on-line advertising. I informed the person I spoke to that there is neither business nor computer at this phone number and to S-T-O-P calling.

Within ten minutes there were two - TWO! - further calls.

    Disgusting.

Got a call from this number. They represented themselves as from a cleaning company. However I had no time to deal with them and hang up. I have checked the number later, it turned on to be scam.

SOLICITOR JAILED FOR THEFT FROM EMPLOYER
From the Northern Echo, first published Saturday 27th Nov 2004.

A SOLICITOR who stole £9,600 from her employer was yesterday jailed for three months.

Elizabeth Rebecca Handley, better known in Teesside legal circles as Liza Mulligan, her maiden name, took the money to help meet £23,000 debts accrued as a student and on credit cards.

But Durham Crown Court heard that apart from losing her good name and job, Handley now faces being struck off by the solicitors' disciplinary tribunal.

Thirty-year-old Handley, of Turnpike Road, Sedgefield, County Durham, previously admitted four counts each of theft and false accounting.

It related to her diverting money paid in case costs to her employer, Middlesbrough law firm Freers, to the account of her husband, for whom she previously made a legitimate successful injury compensation claim.

Sums totalling £7,800 were paid to her husband's acc-ount, while a further amount of £1,836 which should have gone to Freers, was diverted to a client.

The matter came to light through the vigilance of a cashier at Freers after Handley left to join another Tees-side law firm, from where was subsequently dismissed.

Robin Denny, mitigating, told the court: "She was trying to dig herself out of trouble she got herself into, and not a question of greed."

Mr Denny said she subsequently worked for finance company Zurich, but lost that job last month when they found out about the case, but has since found a new job, and her employers are aware of the court appearance.

Jailing her, Judge Tony Lancaster said: "Your profession demands high standards of professionalism and prob-erty, which you failed to keep."

He said he would be failing in his public duty if he did not jail Handley, even if only for a short period.

Judge Lancaster ordered that £6,000 of her money held by Freers should be kept by the company.

Freers' solicitor and partner Paul Bryan said last night the firm will begin civil proceedings next week to recover the outstanding amount, plus interest and costs. He said: "We trained her, and she was with us for nearly five years, and trusted her as a friend, a colleague and a solicitor."

We have just been called by these people, first of all they got our company name wrong which instantly infuriated the owner as the call was out of shop hours.  Then when the owner of the business told her to get the name of the company right and to stop calling the caller hung up.  ONLY to call back within 4 minutes to speak to me (owner's daughter) whereby I was told that the owner had been very rude and that she actually wanted to order flowers, I informed the caller that becuase it was an 0845 number dialling in we obviously thought it was a cold caller, to which point the caller laughed and hung up the phone!  I called back to enquire the nature of the business whereby the girl informed me there was no way their company would be wanting to order flowers from a florist in Scotland!!  I rest my case!  Ignorant low lives!  Customer services will be contacted and this will be taken further if need be.

It really up set me, why is it that people that obviously hate their job and life get to be in such a position to spread their misery?

I was getting 4+ calls aday over 3 weeks which was not fun!! Been registered with TPS for years and checked I was still registered.
Told this company every time they called to STOP calling and that I was registered with TPS
The only way i've managed to get rid of these jokers was by telling them I was going to invoice them for my time if they continued to call.
Sure enough they called so I contact them asking to whom I should address the invoice for the 6 calls I had received (£90 a call = £540) They called me everything under the sun and told me I had no right to invoice them. I said you agreed by continuing to call me.
They have never called me again... and never paid they invoice...not that i'm too bothered

They called me today (20th Apr 2010) saying they were calling from yahoo, who had been bought by Microsoft, and they just needed my permission to have our free listing details re-hosted on bing. I told them this was fine.

They never asked for any money, just permission to list us. Odd.
