- S| 2 repliesWanted to speak to the person who deals with internet advertising immediately. Informed them that they were in a meeting and wouldn't be around until tomorrow. She seemed worried, as it was important information that would regard our listing!! Yahoo calls all the time, and its difficult to know if they are genuine or not!!

- sec1pa replies to S| 1 replyThese have just called me AGAIN for the 4th time today already, and it's a daily occurance lately!!! Asked to spk to person who deals with advertising, which is me (husbands business, but i deal with the advertising) told them this, and got some ramblings about making us top on googles etc.....this listing type is this much etc etc etc!!!! What they fail to realise is that we are infact top of google.....all our own doing, and completely free!!!! Told them i'm not interested for the millonth time this year, and that we are top in search engines and still they persist!!!! Just called again as im typing this!!!!!! They're an absolute nightmare, and i will most definetly be reporting them!! Sick of it if im honest, constant phone calls for something i am not even slightly interested in and i have told them this time and time again!!!
- NikkiMy business has had call from these over the last 3 years and got sucked in everytime. Paid money and never got anything back in return apart from a webpage that no-one can find. This year i spoke to a guy called Pete. I told him we no longer required the page and listings and the cheeky sod said i didnt have the authority to cancel the subscription. He didnt even know who i was! I told him to stop ringing me and that our telephone number was registered at the telephone preference service. He said our telephone number wasnt registered. At this i said please dont ring again and i am putting the phone down. I put the phone down and he then persisted to ring me, each time i just put the phone down. I have now registered my complain the TPS and contacted Infoserve customer service to tell them not to contact me again.

- DmacSeveral calls from this number asking for my husband, I continually explain that he isnt available and can I help? today I was told not to be so rude - I only asked if I could help! he seemed aghast that he had to try again on saturday if he wanted to get hold of him! (I'm sorry, is he not allowed to be out to work?!)
The most stupid thing is, if he would just tell me what he wanted him for, I am probably the person he needs to speak to anyway, but no, they hang up before finding that out!
Stupid firm. - PhilPhoned 4 times today... Each time told them to get lost!!
Just won't take no for an answer!

- Mr N. Osey replies to sec1paTell me your secret of how you can get to the top of google for free ha ha
- ik74Had a call from them. They are Infoserve. I had dealings with them a few years back.
They are associated with Yahoo. When you do a search on Yahoo, sometimes a map comes up with suggested businesses. Google does the same but you register with Google for free. Yahoo lets Infoserve sell classified listings for this section. Click on one of the maps that pop up when you do a search and then scroll to the bottom and you will see "classified listings provided by Infoserve".
In October 2011 figures showed that in the UK Google accounted for 91.02% of all searches while Yahoo managed only 2.79% (http://searchenginewatch.com/article/2124890/ ... ng-Losing-Power) so the question is are you really going to recoup any investment in your sponsored listing?- Caller: Infoserve

- Mark| 1 replyHey!
They just called me 2 hours ago! I paid £760 for a top of the page listing on Yahoo Local! Im so happy because Im top! Ive checked my analytics and already have 15 impressions from it! Seem to be all from the same IP but thats still great anyway!
Had 3 calls already from people saying they found me in the last 30 minutes at the top of Yahoo! Local! I've converted all 3 and my return of investment is £800! Ive made a profit already! The listings on Yahoo! Local! are great and really seem to work for my business! Brill! - TosspotThey are indeed infoserve. Had dealings with them before. Paid a vast sum of monies to have leads for my business. Not one single phone call. Oooh tell a lie, 1 from heathrow airport wanted to go to peckaham. I am based in kent. Waste of time and money, because you dont get work, and they dont do the correct listings for your area

- Steve replies to JNI assume you work for them, no surprise there then.
- Steve replies to Markmmmm three calls that must be everyone that uses Yahoo.
- Nikki| 1 replyWith most of these online datasites, within a week of you signing up you get some calls and/or email enquiries that of course never come to anything. That is because I strongly suspect the employees of the advertising company, Infoserve, Yell or whoever ring new sign-ups with bogus enquiries to give the impression the ad is working.
I am with Yell.com and have been for the past 3 years but not one of my B&B guests ever mentions Yell. I think if they mentioned Yahoo or Bing I would fall off my chair - they just don't.
And then you have the scammers who promise you will be No:1 on Google - when you ask for their own website, their own site isn't even No:1 !!!!- Caller: Infoserve
- FactsThe above scammers companies are listed here https://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/01642224442

- the inbred freak? replies to robert| 1 replyI know this may come across as rather late but still. Judging by your spelling and the way you have laid out your recent post i am confident in taking a guess that you may well be the inbred freak, also ill educated.
As for your comment about it being the only job there is. The area is going through a tough time at the moment, is that our fault? I am pretty sure that the whole country is going through tough times, however i have two degrees, do you? I am also about to embark on a new career in Miami coaching Rugby. are you? No i thought not.
Also i would like to add I'm a good looking chap, extremely well educated and probably capable of stealing your missus away from right under your nose.
As for the stature of this business, surely it deserves applauds for managing to survive through what is most definitely a tough recession.
many thanks
