This is not Lloyds TSB. It's a scam, and the more I call them to complain, the more they call me. I am now referring the matter to the police.

Called again monday asking for 1 of the partners by name. Seemes genuine but decided to call off and return call to the lloyds number i normally use they confirmed it to be genuine.

"Def NOT genuine. It's a scam and anyone on this page saying otherwise is part of it."
If you feel like this then call back on a number from your statement.

I've had the same calls. Refused to disclose my personal details but called in to my branch - they have no flags on my accounts. I googled other TSB numbers and got a TSB web site - google this one - nothing. (of course they could always create a fake site - so be careful- read the http//www address at the top of the page)

I have recently received call after call for my partner to call this number just as everyone else has. It is vertually harrassememt the amount of times they try to get through. I have told them that if they have anything they wish to know to send a letter as I certainly will not give any details over the phone. Neither of us own a credit card therefore it cannot be a credit collection company. I am going to investigate with lloyds and if it is a genuine part of their set up, calmly complain by pointing out the level of irresponsability and lack of security to expect people to give their details to an unknown caller over the phone and the inconveneince of receiving calls at 8am on a weekend. I would be very surprised if any bank would set up such an operation if you ask me.

Doesn't ring my phone, just leaves a voicemail about 3 times a day.  Is always an Asian voice that I can't understand, leaving a message for someone called Venita Ball (I think), who I have never heard of.  Says I need to call Lyods TSB, I have called twice now and they say they will remove my number but do not!

It's true that the number 08456006393 is an indian collection department in Mumbai. I work for the collections department in southend on sea and the number we callvyou on is different to the one we give you. Reason for detail confirmation is data protection act. If we told someone else like your partner for example, they now know that you have financial problems and can ask for details of the account.

I have had a call from these guys today....but we don't even have an account with lloyds, or acreditcard with them.

I just got angry and refused to disclose who i was but asked how they had my number which is ex directory!!!   Some Indian chap couldn't answer!

Very cross, and hope it doesn't happen again!

Llyods have just told me this is not on their list of numbers and that if I am worried about identity fraud I should call the police immediately. They also gave me another number 0800 023 2176 which again is not registered with Llyods. CALL THE NUMBER ON YOUR STATEMENT PEOPLE!

I am also getting nuisance calls from this call center, and I've never been a Lloyds or TSB customer. I have already told the caller once that they have the wrong name and number, but still my answering machine service is being filled up with calls from them! I have contacted my phone company, who offered me "last caller barring", for a cost of around £3 per month. I hope this sort of nuisance call doesn't become more commonplace, otherwise I'll start to need some sort of anti-spam for my voicemail set up!

Checked with Lloyds security who said this was not one of their numbers.  Now planning to go into a branch and ask to see a security manager to sort this out.  Have been taken for £6k by ID theft and Lloyds TSB hugely relaxed about the whole thing to the point of being comatose.  No wonder the banking system has collapsed.

had 3 calls (all one minute apart from the Lloyds collection department in India) then immediately had an automated call from this number with a female English accent.  It didn't identify themselves and said that they had tried to contact me and would do so again shortly, or I could call them!

Had a call left on my answer phone from someone identifying themselves as being from 'Oasis Bank' and asking me to ring 08456006393 about a business matter.  Called the number and listened to a verrrrry looong winded recorded message from 'Lloyds TSB'.  If this is genuine how come they contradict themselves as to what bank they are, also how dare they call me on my busines/work number which is not registered with any bank or call centre.

Just had an indian call centre asking me to get my Director to call them back on a business matter.

Have rung Lloyds, they have no record of this number and there is no note on our account about late or missing payment.  They said if it was urgent they would write to us.

    So ignore these calls.

A phone call was made to my work place, msg taken for me to ring back Lloyds TSB re my credit card. I rang the number which asked me to key in my credit card number (which i did not. I hung on a foreign male asked me for my credit card number to access my account. I asked why he wasn't asking me any security passwords from my account.
I was then asked for my mobile number to access my account, then my landline number to access it. Neither number gave access.
I was not happy and told caller who then stated he would put me through to customer services. Having held on for over 5mins I was put through to Lloyds TSB morgage dept. To be informed that the number I had rang was not one of their contact numbers.

My partner took three calls from this number while I was out, they then phoned back that evening and like everyone else has said, asked for 'security information'.  I declined to give any info and they asked me to go into my branch.  This I did, the next day and was told there was no problem with any of my accounts or my credit card.  The day after this I got another call and I told them I had checked with my branch and if they wanted to inform me of a problem they should put it in writing.  The man said they had already done so, and that I should phone 0845 600 6393.  Having googled the number and found this site, I wasn't convinced of its validity, but I did remember that I had made an underpayment on my credit card, so I phoned the number on the back of my credit card instead and was put through to their collections department to make a payment.

I didn't try to confirm whether the original call was genuine, but my gut feeling is that it was.  If you are in a similar situation, call the number on the back of your credit card, or go into your branch, just to put your mind at ease.  I would never recommend giving any information over the phone to a cold caller, but it is possible there is a problem with an underpayment on a credit card or loan or exceeding an overdraft.

I had a call from 01273743574 today claming to be lloyds tsb saying they needed to speak to me about one of my accounts, when i refused to give my details they asked me to ring 08456006393 .So this evening  when i got home i rang lloyds on 08453000000 .The man i spoke to checked their phone database and said it is NOT one of their numbers and there were no notes on my account saying that they needed to speak to me. If in doubt ring up a number you know to be right. This is probably some sort of scam.

Banks really need to get a grip.
If they wany you to call them back then they should direct you to a number from their Official webesite or the number on the back of the Bank statements. Not details over the phone. This only gets the consumer confused and into a tiz like this thread shows.

Banks go on about security, yet they add confusion by doing this!
I got call with this number... i will just call them on monday about the issue rather than calling some unknown line that I don't know where/who/what it is.

It's a genuine Lloyds TSB number.  I received two calls asking for my date of birth, asked for a number to call back on, and then called Lloyds on the number on their website.  They confirmed that 0845 600 6393 IS a genuine Lloyds number, for credit card collections.  Call them and check for yourself if you're concerned (call centre number on www.lloydstsb.com).

Still, there is no way I'm going to give out personal information to an unsolicited caller; it's far too easy for a scammer to have a go at you and then give you a genuine number to shake off any suspicion. Lloyds really, really need to find a better way to verify their customers' identity over the phone. I'll be writing to them to complain.
