Its British Gas using a remote dialling system. You answer and there is no one there. Very anti-social where elderly people who might be housebound are concerned.

Everybody knows how bad british gas are.  A fat greedy pig of a company.  I was glad to see the back of them now I get calls from a f'ing machine all day.  A complete scumbag company with no morals.

I've had call sfrom this number I just ignore them, i've spoken to them and they aren't very good at coming to arrangememnts. They're trying to overcharge me for where i used to live. i only owed them £45 but they're somehow creating £205. Be careful they don't try and twist things. Make sure you get writtend break downs of charges before you agree anything!

To the arrogant Mr Random...I do & have paid my bills, yet still receive these calls. Have just found this forum & rung BG who have no idea why I'm getting them & can only apologise...great!

i do not kow who this is, i already had to shout at a sales person not of this country for waking me out of bed on a saturday and sunday morning.

I recived a call from them after a bill was delayed in the post. So only 2 days after reciving the bill I was dealing with the debt collection agency. It took the company 30 minutes to find my account, I gave them all my address details e.c.t and yet they still couldn't find anything. Finally I managed to sign up for an online account to get my customer referance number, I was on holiday and so didn't have any paper bills. The whole system is terrible, why they couldn't just call me and speak to me I don't know? They must have had my acount details for the origional call to have bappend, why did they hang up?

What an absolutly usless company, bring on Npower or countrywide next year...

Got a call from this number out of the blue today - first time I have had this one. Good to know it is B. Gas. Apparently they are getting more and more sharp with their 'debt chasing' - due to their ever increasing prices and personal hardships I suppose.

they keep calling me too but i have no idea how they got my number. i am with british gas but all i can assume is that they kept my number from the several times i have complained about them! they keep charging me for bills from before i moved in and i dont know how many times i can call and tell them this. i am moving out next month so there is no point in changing to another company but if they keep calling me after i have left (and paid all i owe) i will not be very happy.

Was called today on my mobile while I was abroad and said hallo several times only to find that the phone was put down without anyone speakin to me at all..we have recently changed from British Gas to another supplier maybe this has something to do with it, however I find it very rude:-(

Yes, it's British Gas. THey've been ringing and hanging up about ten times a day here for the past week. Eventually today, I got a woman that spoke. She was extremely rude.

I have recieved 5 calls from this number today...finally some one on the other end and it is British Gas (from India)
Sooooo rude, I have only had my bill for 14 days so def not overdue and he opend his call....'I am calling from British Gas, what card number please you must pay now'

I received a call today asking me if me if we intended renewing our Home Care
contract due on March 27 2008.  I said that the contract was taken out on my son's house in Cumbria and that he was paying it today, March 27. I asked for the woman's name.  She refused to give it to me.  I asked for the amount wondering if it had gone up.  She replied, "I can't give it to you it's financial!" I dialed the number and an automated voice said, "It's not urgent. There is no need for us to speak to you." I needed to speak to THEM but how? Who are they?  It is obviously a scam. Somebody is making money out of these calls. Maybe B Gas are selling a comany this number. I intend to find out. This call will be on my bill as a ek time number. I am a senior citizen.

It is British Gas. Account collections. Tried me today with missed call then spoke to someone but couldnt tell me what property they were calling about. Sounded like a scam to me. Spoke to BGas about it who claimed they were unaware of these calls.

well IF BRITISH GAS STOP PUTTING UP THEIR PRICES THEN PEOPLE CAN PAY THEIR BILLS IDIOT. Gas and electric prices have gone up  by 50% in the last few months and are sheduled to go up by another 40% over the next, then thats not the end of rises of them. Idiots like this make my blood boil. Then I suspect he is a one dementional persona. Ah the wisdom of poverty versus the stupidity of wealth.

got a call from this number, said it was British gas and i had to pay my outstanding bill immediately by giving them my card details straight away or i would be charged an extra £14.  I said I'd pay my bill using the phone number on the bill.  The woman (who I believe was calling from india) said I would be charged extra if i did not pay during this call.  I told her to ring back in 30 mins. In the meantime i paid using my bill.  Felt totally intimidated into giving my card details to someone who could have been any body. I think they must get commission for forcing you to pay during their call. Outragous BRITISH Gas! I will be changing my gas supplier.

I have started getting calls formt his number, I owe them money, but it is because of thier incredible incompetence I have not been able to pay it. I lived in a house that was split into two flats, so mine was 35a, on their database for gas (the elec database is correct). This meant they could not set us up with an accoutn for gas, despite numerous calls to them and being told it was sorted. 15 months later the account has now been created (I have since moved house), they now can manage to send me threatening letters, but not a final bill so I can't pay the damn thing (15 months worth in one go BTW), I keep ringing up and they say they will send the final bill but it NEVER arrives, I suspect there is some kind of database problem with my account so the bill never gets generated, so instead of sorting it they are happy to threaten me with court action and harras me with phonecalls like this.
Becasue of not having a final bill I cannot get my deposit back from my old flat. I want to pay them but they just won't let me!

This is harrassment.  I was with BGAS for a year and in that time they never managed to combine my GAS - Electric - Direct debit together they were taking money but then asking for more everytime my bill came up.  There phone staff are pathetic they just hang up or, sorry put you on hold! prosumably why they go for a cup of tea and a good chin wag.  they are currently holding £160 from my direct debit but as asking for £30 to close my account!!! i have said they have the money i have a letter that says so they have said that they will do it but im still getting calls.  BGAS are a shower of [***] i just hope that EDF are better thats my next try.

There must be a regulator or something we can complain to does anyone know????
