call claming to be fom windows could not answer questions on what  type of windows i was running gave me a phone number when i asked for his office number of 1142623182 and said if i phone it they could not transfer the call to him

Just had a call from this number and they said we had a problem with our computer. Played ignorant and they said goodbye and ended the call. Accent of the woman was Indian.

Hmm, got a similar call very recently - told 'em I was quite happy with my "Sinclair Spectrum" thanks, waited for the *gasp* and then put the phone down! (lol). :op

2 calls from these clowns today. The wonders of online phone directories.

How the hell do we stop these calls.
Nobody is interested in stopping them.
If you try and go to the Telephone preference service they don’t want to know unless you have an address for them.
How stupid is that !
BT must know who is paying the bill.
Its not rocket science.

i just received a call from these people asking for mr kenedy. we get one of these phone calls every day. and each time i tell them that no one of that number lives here- its definatly a scam as its happened over 30 times now- each time telling us that we have an error on our computer- which is stupid.

getting fed up and would like the number blocked.

Yes they seem to be calling more frequently these "Microsft Service Centre" folk - I find it rather amusing and went along with it for some time - right up to the point where I knew a trojan would be installed (even at that point my Norton 360 was screaming at me to go no further).
Very amusing - can't believe there are so many people that actually fall for this kind of scam (still)!!

Call from Pakistani/Indian sounding person who told me I had over 1000 error reports on my computer and she could send someone for free to deal with it. Told her had my own computer technician and she then said I could go to a link where I could view all these errors.  I said I didnt want to thank you.  She said it was all for free just visit this particular site. Told her again I didnt want to speak to her and she kept on saying things like my technician would charge me astronomical fees if he came out.  I said everybody has error reports so she was probably right about that. I asked her what part of "not wanting to speak to her" did she not understand and then I put the phone down.  They had phoned three times.  Very irritating and frightening for some people who doesnt understand their computer too well.  Beware they want you to download expensive wares.

Had a call yesterday 18/03/2011 male caller said that I had a server error reported to him could I go online and he would talk me through it. Assumed it to be phishing and put the phone down.

I had a phone call from Online PC Masters today.  Told them I would call the police if they did not cross me off their database.  The lady said do that and continued with her pitch.  Eventually she asked if I had a PC - I said no and she immediately hung up.  Obvious scam.

I received several calls from this number. 09141401414.  Today it was silent, followed by an automated "Goodbye" message.

Reported it to OFCOM.  The more people that report it, then the more chance there is of OFCOM taking action.

I just received a call from this number saying that my computer has sent out an error message.  Obviously an Asian woman, kept calling me "mam".  After a few minutes the line went dead, so be aware.  I will be ready if they ring back.  Very suspicious!!!!!!

Had this Today around 12.30 .giving my name.
Indian sounding, saying My Computer has Errors.

I said that "this is a commercial bizness " (not in fact true).
Which resulted in them saying sorry & disconnecting.
(this trick usually gets rid of them)

Found 09141401414 with 1471 . I tried to dial back prefixing with 141 to block my number.. Then again without 141. In both cases when I dialled the 4th or 5th digit
a BT message said number unattainable.
DON'T you dial the number it might connect to a VERY expensive Premium charged line.
I have had this caller repeatedly many times for over a year.

Had a call from them yesterday saying we had problem on our computer.  Told them my husband is an IT Consultant, so can sort out any computer problems.

Got a call from 09141401414 to my answer phone today.  They didn't leave a message.  Many thanks to the other replies to this - I feel I am in for receiving a prank call!

got 2 calls over last months from them, same as others report here, saying that "my computer is sending lots of error messages". We are TPS registered and the guy (sounding Indian) immediately said he is not selling anyting, but it is very "important that I listen". My parter is an IT professional and last time spoke to them as he knew it was a con, and as soon as you ask them to explain how they know what your computer is doing and what system he thinks we have installed, there is silence.
We also reported them to TPS and Trading Standards, but sadly noone is interested in stopping them, excuse being that they call from "foreign number". Just hanging up seems to be the only solution and/or black-listing the number.

I often recieve nuisance calls from indians, but I cant block them because they withhold the number. On one occasion they called 6 times in one day. On this occasion there is actually a phone number, there was a long silence followed by an automated "Goodbye"??? Sometimes my boyfriend answers and tells them Ive died, but they still call back!

SCAM, as others have said just string them along to waste their time. I often find it fun to speak nonsense back at them. Ask them if they have any oscilating fu fu valves for sale etc etc

These people are the scum of the earth, treat them that way.

I have received yet another call from this number today. Again silent and a nuisance but whilst we were on holiday for two weeks their calls filled up my answering service so that any genuine callers could not leave messages.
Extremely annoying but what can one do?

i got a phone call from pc masters telling me the same thing,my computer needed a health check, dont do a thing,this is a scam
